Most boring film you've ever seen?

I'm watching On Chesil Beach and I can't remember the last time I watched a film this dull. Only sticking with it to see how they do the, ahem, early arrival part. Thinking about it the book was fairly shite too.

What's the most boring film you've ever seen so I can avoid nights like this Grin

Not sure the name but it was a film about a man and woman stranded in the ocean, 25 mins in they were still treading water..

LittleCandle · 05/05/2019 22:51

It has to be a toss up between Titanic and Saving Private Ryan. I think perhaps Titanic wins by a short head.

Patroclus · 05/05/2019 22:54

Even if you arnt interested in the subject matter, not sure how you can at all find Memphis Belle boring?

Thin Red Line
also The English Patient.

Oliversmumsarmy · 05/05/2019 22:58

I have never watched any of these films as I knew they wouldn’t be my type of film.

However Ds had to watch a particular Batman film and Rabbit Proof Fence for GCSEs

We sat through them wondering when they were going to end.

Why do they have such boring films and books for GCSEs

iklboo · 05/05/2019 23:01

Titanic
A River Runs Through It
The English Patient

eddiemairswife · 05/05/2019 23:03

Titanic.....terrible; not a patch on A Night to Remember.

midsomermurderess · 05/05/2019 23:04

One of the Iron Man movies followed closely by Chris Nolan's bloated Batman. Mother of God, intolerable.

Willowkoko · 05/05/2019 23:06

Aloha, ft Bradley cooper and Emma stone. Heard great things, so boring. I don’t think anything happened in the whole film, DH slept through the majority of it.

nutellalove · 05/05/2019 23:07

Lord of the rings

sadbones · 05/05/2019 23:07

@LittleCandle Really? They are 2 of my most favourite films 😂

midsomermurderess · 05/05/2019 23:08

Oh yes LOTR, I walked out of one of them.

Cherrypi · 05/05/2019 23:09

Rounders with Matt Damon.

GoFiguire · 05/05/2019 23:10

Raiders of the Lost Arc. The outcome would have been the same even if Indiana Jones had never existed.

Steamfan · 05/05/2019 23:11

The Talented Mr Ripley, Gosford Park

StillMedusa · 05/05/2019 23:12

La La Land.
I love musicals but that film bored me witless.

WhispersOfWickedness · 05/05/2019 23:12

Cloud Atlas 😴

OnlyRealButterWillDo · 05/05/2019 23:13

Eyes wide shut and Sideways.

And The Hole.

It takes a hell of a lot for me to dislike a film because I'm a total movie buff.

MazDazzle · 05/05/2019 23:15

Into the Woods. Fell asleep. Went with my DC who will watch anything and even they said it was the worst film ever.

dellacucina · 05/05/2019 23:17

Wow, you all seem to have the opposite film taste to me. The English Patient is hands down one of my favourites. It's moody and atmospheric with great cinematography. The characters are interesting and exotic. There is a mystery unfolding with each scene.

The Talented Mister Ripley is similar (and possibly derivative in an odd way).

Lost in Translation is another one I find interesting and actually quite amusing.

I can see how each of these are slightly slow, but I am amazed they are at the bottom of some people's lists!

AiryFairy1 · 05/05/2019 23:20

@FissionChips was that Open Water? Scuba diving horror film? It was pretty tedious 😅

Purplegecko · 05/05/2019 23:20

The lobster.

Although a boy took me on a date to see tinker tailor soldier spy when I was in my early teens and I fell asleep it was very dull to me back then!

RaskolnikovsGarret · 05/05/2019 23:21

Phantom Thread
Into the Woods
Fantastic Beasts 2

Usuallyinthemiddle · 05/05/2019 23:22

The one with Tom Hardy bothering on about concrete in a car. WTF?

BornInAThunderstorm · 05/05/2019 23:24

Yy to Benjamin Button. Also couldn’t get past the first 10 minutes of the Revenant.

Tried to watch the Hateful Eight but it was just gratuitous swearing so turned that off too

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 05/05/2019 23:29

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them

2hr 13min of torture by boredom it was painful

LaLa Land pretentious twaddle could have been so much more interesting

I love The Talented Me Ripley
