STUPID COURIER!

Hsaansnsn6776 · 04/05/2019 16:20

Ordered a beautiful window from eBay... not cheap! And the courier came earlier than expected and told them to leave it by the house... I didn’t have time to put it away yet and I went outside to find it on the floor and it’s smashed Sad who’s fault is this and what can I do to get money from down the drain (metaphor)

I go to do some chores and come back to this

calm down honestly it’s really nasty and just because I’m right wink you become a sore 12 year old girl!!!

It’s quite weird. Confused

Anyway, I can see you’ve been very firmly told by plenty of others that it was your own fault so i’ll say no more.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 04/05/2019 19:10

they then leave it round the back. DH leaves to do some errands..

I’ve just seen this. Your husband was home when it was delivered!!!

VanGoghsDog · 04/05/2019 19:24

Wasn't it in any packaging then?

You say when you went back you saw it was all broken glass.

I'm also confused how a courier can bring it round the back of your house on their own but neither you nor your husband can lift it into the house on your own, yet it is also light enough for the wind to blow over.

You also say you told the courier to leave it by the house. They did.

You saw it had been delivered, presumably upright and in one piece. You left it, went back to it later (over eight hours later from your exclamation that you can't keep your dogs in for eight hours) and it was on the ground smashed. Odd.

Did your dogs knock it over?

How did the courier get round to he back when your dogs were there by the way?

I can't see any way to blame this on the courier. No matter how many new angles you invent.

Hsaansnsn6776 · 04/05/2019 19:35

Nope, no packaging
There were two people and it wasn’t the weight (as I have addressed many times) it was how I was going to have to carry it
I was more specific with the courier than I was on this thread... I wasn’t going to fully give a tour to my garden online!!! Hence, they didn’t leave it where I told them
Not sure how that’s odd?
Nope.
The dogs were in the house at the time the courier was delivering
I think you’ve missed a few bits Maxi

I’m going to ask for you guys to stop posting on here because I feel from my view as though a few of the Mumsnetters are jumping down my throat a bit. Please, stop replying to this thread. I have sorted out the issues with the courier and I no longer need the ¿advice? Please, stop trying to make me feel stupid constantly. I’m sure some Mumsnetters will ignore and continue to press at me, oh well Confused
Thanks in advance and for those who politely tried to help me and weren’t just trying to catch me out!!

No I’ve read it all. Husband was home when it was delivered. Dogs were inside when it was delivered. Husband saw it had been delivered but decided not to lay it flat despite dogs being in the house. He left. OP came home and saw it, also decided not to lay it flat despite having the ability to bring dogs into the house. Nature does it’s thing. OP stomps feet in couriers direction.

Once you’ve accepted delivery the parcel becomes your responsibility. You left it outside (the reasons why are irrelevant) and it got broken. You can try to claim from the courier but it isn’t their fault.

TwitterQueen1 · 04/05/2019 20:46

oh pleeeeeeez OP, pleeeze let us post ..... because we do of course need your permission......

Hsaansnsn6776 · 04/05/2019 20:53

Did the courier tell you it wasn't his problem?

TheCanterburyWhales · 04/05/2019 21:50

Well, this has taken a weird turn.
You do win the weekly gong for the most extra pieces of info dripped into a thread though.
A window, in no packaging Confused so, a pane of glass? From eBay? Is that even a thing?

This whole tale is getting funnier as it goes on.

OK, go on then.

I'm going to ask Donald Trump to stop being President. You tell me how you get on, and I'll let you know how mine turns out.

Hsaansnsn6776 · 04/05/2019 22:03

Why do you feel the need to just sit on Mumsnet nit picking Hmm just leave me alone! I’ve tried to get this thread deleted but have no idea how so just leave it!

MrTumbleTumble · 04/05/2019 23:46

Not that it matters, because the couriers will no doubt have a picture of the door in one piece when it was delivered, but you're unlikely to be covered through their insurance anyway. In my experience couriers only transport glass at the senders' risk.

That’s not how it works.
Mumsnetters are not other people. You have posted here so you are also a mumsnetter.
You jumped down Maxi’s throat for no reason.
