What have you achieved this week that you are proud of?

Big or small .....

I have stuck to My Fitness Pal all week and logged every single calorie that has passed my lips - the scales had better be kind to me next week.

But more amazingly - I achieved something at work yesterday - an admin task, so not exactly groundbreaking. But it has been on my 'to-do' list for 12 years.

That is not a typo - it has taken me 12 years to get around to doing this one task that I kept pushing to the bottom of the list Shock Grin

Started a new role within my job. I was so nervous as I have only been working for 2 months, after 10 years at home, so this felt like a promotion (no more pay though Hmm) so I didn't want to mess it up. It went well!

Also, when I got to said new role, I had to do a really awkward bit of reverse parking, which I am rubbish at (no spatial awareness) & I succeeded!

confusedofengland · 26/04/2019 11:56

Well done on yours, Atlas.

DelilahTheSlagFromTheBible · 26/04/2019 12:02

I started the 30 Day Shred again this morning instead of just thinking about doing it. I need to keep it up though!

DMCWelshcakes · 26/04/2019 12:34

I used the Tube in rush hour.

DaisyAWhoops · 26/04/2019 13:53

Took my DD for her three month vaccinations. Neither she nor I cried on the way home! Unlike her first vaccinations where she wailed on my shoulder and I cried with her all the way home!

Aimily · 26/04/2019 13:57

Only small, I saw my midwife for my 28 week appointment and have achieved total normalness. With how low, emotional and unbalanced I have been feeling recently, that conversation was a total confidence boost for me.

GlossyTaco · 26/04/2019 14:02

Getting through the week. The toddler is teething , the eldest has left their job and my husband has had a pretty tricky time with a condition he has to live with. We're raising a Brew to making it to my husband's day off without any disasters!

chocolatelog · 26/04/2019 14:03

I can see the bottom of my washing bin 🙌🏼
It's never empty!

ApplePenPineapplePen · 26/04/2019 14:10

I asked work for a temporary reduction in workload/hrs to help me reduce stress and hopefully get rid of the related anxiety. It took me 40 mins to compose the email and I was sobbing throughout. I don't normally ask for help, or give up on anything. It felt like a huge step. Their response has been great and I wish I had done it sooner but I had crippling anxiety about my anxiety!

ApplePenPineapplePen · 26/04/2019 14:11

And kudos Star to chocolatelog - i get such a sense of achievement on the rare occasions I manage that (almost forbade the family from changing clothes Grin)

Chilledout11 · 26/04/2019 14:13

I am nearly there with my decluttering mission (five years)

purplereindeer · 26/04/2019 14:16

I didn't murder DP when he was bitching last night and instead remembered that he is actually worried about his health and just incapable of expressing it.

In fact, despite the whole four month old sleep regression thing that DC4 is doing at the moment, I haven't killed anyone this week.

I organised myself to go back to work next week (self employed, baby comes with me!)

I did astonishing amounts of housework considering the above.

I walked a lot and worked out twice.

I managed all of the above pretty cheerfully.

SimonJT · 26/04/2019 14:21

I went on my first ever date and didn’t cock it up.

I have survived three days of a grumpy son with chicken pox.

I finished my 100 day push up challenge this morning.

Robertsmithdoesmyhair · 26/04/2019 14:21

Cleaned the grout around my bath tiles - been looking at the filthy stuff for 6 months! Confused

AtlasObscura · 26/04/2019 14:28

Well done you Flowers

I got my breastfeeding support group that I volunteer at nominated as one of our local Waitrose's Community Matters groups for May. We get a proportion of £1000 dependent on the shoppers' votes. This will pay for next years' insurance and some more training for new peer supporters. Go Me!

whoami24601 · 26/04/2019 14:41

I've managed to clear about 50% of the garden and even planted some seeds! It's sort of trial and error for me and DD to see what grows well in our garden. I also made it to the bottom of the wash basket (albeit only briefly...)

AtlasObscura · 26/04/2019 14:42

That is great news AudTheDeepMinded

I didn't realise until recently that each of the 3 nominated groups got something - I thought it was only the group that collected the most tokens and I used to agonise over which one to choose Grin

Sorted out at least half of my sea glass, cleaned my studio, and sold another three pieces!

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 26/04/2019 14:49

I got an old spinning wheel working in a heritage attraction where I volunteer and made yarn on it even though it is a type of wheel I have hardly used before. The really challenging bit was doing it all in front of a sometimes large audience because it was in a window and tour groups kept going past and stopping to take photos and film. There were visitors inside too so I had to manage not to swear when the drive band came off and the thread broke.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 26/04/2019 14:50

Driven a caravan for the first time, set up the caravan, got everything working, had a fab few nights and packed it all back up again.

Scary, tiring, but it's gonna be a great new adventure for me and my DD.

bringthethunder · 26/04/2019 14:54

I spoke up for myself in work after getting a whole heap of new duties piled on me (completely unrelated to my actual role) SO, I am now doing the extra work but being given a commission on the work, so at least it's worth while doing!

It's not much but I did strongly feel that a) none of the men in my office would have been asked to do work so outside the realms of their field and b) wouldn't have accepted the work without asking "what's in it for me?!" first!

I also got up disgustingly early this morning to go to the gym, which I was proud of. However, I ruined it on my way into work by buying a calorie-laden chocolate frappe as my reward for making it to Friday Grin

chocolatelog · 26/04/2019 14:56

@ApplePenPineapplePen thanks lol I had to take a pic and send it to my mum. She was flabbergasted 😂

Merename · 26/04/2019 15:00

Mines a bit pathetic but got through two days of dawn to dusk kids by myself, DH was working in the evenings when he is usually around to help with bed. Baby is waking pretty much hourly just now so I am very fragile, and I managed to get through those days amazingly patiently despite 3yo best tantrums. Today now he’s here is a different story, have just argued and been exhausted and weepy all day!!

willowmelangell · 26/04/2019 15:03

Painted a garden wall after 8 years of it being on my to do list.
Trimmed a hedge with my new hedge trimmer. Always paid someone to do it before.
This morning I moved my sewing table to be by a window and electric socket. Now I just need to go through all the patterns I have outgrown etc in the 8 years the table has been under-the-stairs.
