What have you achieved this week that you are proud of?

Big or small .....

I have stuck to My Fitness Pal all week and logged every single calorie that has passed my lips - the scales had better be kind to me next week.

But more amazingly - I achieved something at work yesterday - an admin task, so not exactly groundbreaking. But it has been on my 'to-do' list for 12 years.

That is not a typo - it has taken me 12 years to get around to doing this one task that I kept pushing to the bottom of the list Shock Grin

I visited the Giant’s Causeway. I have a geology degree (or 2...) and h e been meaning to visit fir 30 years. Not strictly proud of that, but jolly pleased with organising a holiday that both dc enjoyed!

flitwit99 · 26/04/2019 19:17

75kg barbell squat. So pleased with myself.

Well done to all us achievers. We rock.

Cagliostro · 26/04/2019 19:19

I swam 500m. I started going swimming in January, don’t get to go that often but gradually build up. Prior to this time I’d done 300m max. I still have to pause after each length but the fact I could manage so much more in one session is a huge win. I have fibromyalgia and other conditions. :)

Cagliostro · 26/04/2019 19:21

Oooh nice one bike I would love to visit one day. I made a plaster of Paris one with DS once using smarties packets :o fascinating place

Chancewouldbeafinethlng · 26/04/2019 19:25

Mine is a month one. I have taken my anti depressant nearly every day, even when I have been feeling ok about life.
Big thing for me, I’m terrible for feeling cured and stopping abruptly leading to yet more anxiety.

Feeling v proud of myself.

bluebluezoo · 26/04/2019 19:30

Did two gym classes.

Been going 4 weeks now- from completely sedentary. First couple of times it took me 5 days to feel my arms and legs again, so not quite 2 a week, but today I managed a class 3 days after the last. So that’s 2 in one week!

Finally paid for my daughters prom dress and picked it up today was 400 hundred pounds and its beautiful she deserves it very much

BikeRunSki · 26/04/2019 19:51

I shall bear smarties packets in Ming cagliostro, that’s exactly the type of homework the teacher dd will have next year would set!

paxillin · 26/04/2019 19:52

Met an impossible deadline this morning.

chandylier · 26/04/2019 19:57

I jetskiied twice, even though it was scary
And got my commercial size boiler working without having to call out the engineer.

Cagliostro · 26/04/2019 19:58

:o it was a very very messy project. Had the smarties packs been made of silicon or something it may have been easier :o

Chance that is fucking amazing, I have such trouble keeping on top of meds, well done!

I started a new job nearly 2 months ago after being a sahm for nearly 2 years. I'm really proud of how fast I'm picking up the work. I'm on 98%.
On Tuesday they moved me from thoroughly checking every case I deal with to quick over the shoulder checks. Today they decided to move me to every 1 in 3 cases to be checked. I'm the first in my team to move onto 1 in 3, and if I keep it up it won't be long before I'm signed off. I'm so proud of what I'm achieving.

boredpanda84 · 26/04/2019 20:06

I have birth to my first DC! I had a really positive birth experience thanks to a wonderful midwife and DP. We have all been on cloud 9 since! Such a lovely thread!

jenthelibrarian · 26/04/2019 20:13

Celebrate our thirty-third wedding anniversary today.
I'm rather proud of both of us.

olivo · 26/04/2019 20:24

I started a new job a few months ago, and have been asked to do something new, which to me, means I am totally trusted and respected. So happy with that Smile

ASauvignonADay · 26/04/2019 20:28

At work - supported a few teens with mental health issues and felt I did a good job. Makes it worthwhile.

AnonCancer · 26/04/2019 20:30

I've had a double mastectomy which I'm hoping will save my life.

Floralnomad · 26/04/2019 20:34

I had a horse riding lesson on Wednesday with my dsis , neither of us have been on a horse for 20+ years ( we are both early 50s) and surprisingly it is like riding a bike and I had the horse working in a great outline literally as soon as I got on .

Nacreous · 26/04/2019 20:37

I've gone to work despite my total desire to take a sick day and wallow in bed feeling sorry for myself.

I've presented at a meeting to our board of directors.

I've cooked actual food 4/5 nights.

I've gone to yoga and gone swimming.

For a week when I really didn't feel like I had done much and had been feeling pretty down, I'm actually really proud of myself. Thanks for giving me pause for thought OP!

Well done to everyone on their achievements! Great to see people being proud of what they've done.

Ragwort · 26/04/2019 21:01

Congratulations bored.

Anon, that sounds scary, hope you are feeling OK after the surgery & being looked after.

Mine is really mundane - my cooker packed up six weeks ago, I finally got round to getting someone in to fix it (have a double oven so have been able to use the small oven all this time).

LarkDescending · 26/04/2019 21:14

Defeated my inner procrastinator and wrote/circulated a big presentation a whole two weeks ahead of the conference organiser’s deadline for submissions. Gives me ample time to sleep on it, collect & consider feedback from my team, etc.

Life will be so much easier if I can cure myself permanently of last-minute-itis.

AtlasObscura · 26/04/2019 23:21

Anon - are you still in hospital? I hope that you have lots of very loving and supportive friends around you xx

OP posts:
AnonCancer · 27/04/2019 08:35

Yes still in hospital.

It's not scary (of course the original diagnosis was), just hideous. I really hate hospitals! Have to say the nurses in the main have been outstanding. And the doctors, anaesthestists, recovery team etc.

One nurse and one of the recovery team were amongst the most exceptional women I've ever met.

So that's positive - there are some wonderful people out there in the NHS.

Blueuggboots · 27/04/2019 08:41

I've made and decorated 4 large cakes.

tinytemper66 · 27/04/2019 08:42

Drive to London and back on my own!
