Are there any names you don't like purely because of who you knew with those names?

I hate the name Judith. Although when I actually think about it I think it is a perfectly pleasant and nice name. But I have only known two people called Judith and they were both horrible women.
Are there any names that you don't like ONLY because you knew someone with that name 2ho you did not like?

Christine! Never met a nice one ever.

DuckofDoom · 26/04/2019 02:36

Kimberley. I’ve never met a nice one. I’m sure they exist but sadly they haven’t crossed my path yet!

Hidingtonothing · 26/04/2019 02:36

Elise, only ever known one but she was my BF's stalker ex and she made my life a misery. Can't hear the name without shuddering even now, over 20 years later.

Fiona. A complete and utter snake.

AlbertWinestein · 26/04/2019 02:42

Jenny. Every single Jenny in my school was a mean girl. Except for the ones I didn’t know existed.

Big Austen fan here, and I love(d) the name Marianne.

Then I met my uni housemate’s gf and it’s become ubiquitous with “possessive nutter”. It’s a pity because it’s such a beautiful name, but I can’t get passed the association.

Calixtine · 26/04/2019 03:03

I know a lovely Christine!

Gabrielle for me. Blah.

amandacarnet · 26/04/2019 03:07

I was not naturally keen on the name Fiona. But the women I have known called this have all been lovely, and as a result the name has grown on me.

DuckofDoom, I can not hear the name Kimberley without thinking of Victoria woods impressions.

Adolf

DaisyAWhoops · 26/04/2019 13:49

Sophie. Went to Uni with a horrible, two faced Sophie and now the name is ruined. Before her I used to like it and would have used it as a baby name.

happytoseeyou · 26/04/2019 13:56

Lisa, every single one I have ever met has been cruel, self centred and downright mean.

Aimily · 26/04/2019 14:00

Anastasia, it's a lovely sounding name, but I was bullied by a girl at school, just can't bring myself to like it, plus never met another one.

FiremanKing · 26/04/2019 14:03

Helen. Nicola. Carol. Jeremy.

Dollywilde · 26/04/2019 14:05

I was bullied by someone with the same name as me so I can't really take against it too much :P

AgnesNaismith · 26/04/2019 14:05

Vicky, Imogen, Emma

TinselAndKnickers · 26/04/2019 14:06

Katie and Michelle. Bloody cows! Grin

Sunlov · 26/04/2019 14:06

Evelyn. A walking cunt.
Frank. A paedophile.
Anthony. A perv.
Shirley. A bit rough.

Nanasueathome · 26/04/2019 14:06

The older names that have made a comeback recently
I’m of an older generation and my father had friends and relatives named Arthur, Albert, Archie, Alfie/Alf, Wilfred, Stanley/Stan, Albee
All I can picture in my mind when I hear these names is the older men and I would never wish them in any of the younger generation
Bear in mind, this is just my opinion/thoughts and everyone is free to choose any name they want

bloatedbird · 26/04/2019 14:07

Yes Lucy.

NoUsernamesILike · 26/04/2019 14:08

Yes, the cons of working in a school 😬

PurpleCrowbar · 26/04/2019 14:08

Amanda.

Every single one of these bar one that I've ever met was a bullying snake, frankly.

The exception was a Mandy who hated her full name! She was perfectly pleasant.

HollyBen · 26/04/2019 14:09

The name George makes me shudder. It's a bit unfortunate how popular it is!!

elaine26 · 26/04/2019 14:13

Tiana, joanna, eilidh, lesley all very nasty girls

Wholetthekidsout · 26/04/2019 14:15

Henry, Charlie, Lucy and Christine were insecure bullies

I agree with Amanda, not a bully for me but was definitely bitchy sort
