Are there any names you don't like purely because of who you knew with those names?

I hate the name Judith. Although when I actually think about it I think it is a perfectly pleasant and nice name. But I have only known two people called Judith and they were both horrible women.
Are there any names that you don't like ONLY because you knew someone with that name 2ho you did not like?

Yes of course. But I have seen my name on here as belonging to a series of horrible people - and names of people I love to bits are apparently shared by some monsters!!

Kerry and Melanie. Both as a child and in the workplace. I always thought it was entirely illogical and there would be a perfectly lovely one, but each time I would see a charming, friendly smile that never got as far as the eyes.

My name has already come up.

At the same time, though, the people who share names with pets are always on a winner with me. Never told Pippa that I always pictured her at a desk with long ears, whiskers and a fluffy white tail, though. At least it meant I never forgot her name when in a flurry of introductions for a new job.

I actually think it's a lovely name, and I've met several perfectly nice Carols, but I could never name a child of mine Carol because of the hideous bully of my childhood.

Amy (and all other spellings of that name). A combination of my primary school bully and vile Amy March from Little Women. It’s such a smug name.

Mhairi. Even though I also know a really lovely woman with this name, it's very strongly associated by someone else who I dislike a lot...

Hannah.. Hateful bitch. I also know another one who is so gentle and lovely she cancels out the other ones cloud of vile...couldnt call a child by it though.

@dollywilde - I hope not, I wouldn’t want anyone to go through what I’ve gone through. Woman’s dangerous. DP showing me her msgs (she’s obsessed with him) - but claims otherwise.

@thebickersons my one was a friend from school who, if it had been a romantic relationship, would have 100% been classed as EA/coercive control. Took me nearly 15 years to get my act together to tell her where to go and DH still has to pull me back from ‘maybe I should call her and put the past behind us’ every few months. Sadly it’s the sort of thing I can well imagine her doing. In a way I’d prefer it to be the same woman, at least then we know there aren’t two out there

@dollywilde - she sounds truly awful and yes, I see your point, one narc is better than one.

I honestly don’t understand why some people are so cruel. Her need to compete with me is frightening, I don’t scare easily but the lengths she went to recently has made me fear her.

I really think she’s quite mad.
