Has this got to be the most garish house ever seen?

My eyes! There are other colours than white and black. Such a shame what they've done to an otherwise stunningly Art Deco building

I find it really interesting how people chose to decorate their houses. Would love to know what the owner of the house is like!

I don’t necessarily hate the decor but I find it very clinical and not very homely at all

They bought the house in an absolute state for £200k, a few years ago.

This house is near me and I have always loved it. The decor is ok , not my choice but I couldn’t afford the house anyway.
It still is a stunningly Art Deco building even if the choice of decoration doesn’t appeal.

PantTwizzler · 25/04/2019 22:49

Wow. I’m surprised they didn’t dye the grass black!!

Maybe83 · 25/04/2019 22:50

I love it!

jackstini · 25/04/2019 22:52

I love it! Bit of grey in there too but my first though was that it would be so easy to change bed linen and throw a few cushions in for colour

The basic house is stunning

Catchingbentcoppers · 25/04/2019 22:52

I think it's the opposite of garish it's a blank canvas. Wouldn't take much to make it completely stunning. I love it.

DontCallMeShitley · 25/04/2019 22:53

That is real deco style, and they obviously like the monotone style. I love this style of house, to restore would be a lot of money as they were built with iron supports which degrade over time and the buildings need specialist work not just any builder.

Youcantscaremeihavechildren · 25/04/2019 22:53

Beautiful house, that decor would give me a headache though.. Is it awful to say I preferred the kitchen as it was originally?! They must have spent a fortune, can't see how they've made much profit?

Iamtooknackeredtorun · 25/04/2019 22:56

Such a beautiful property from the exterior. I don’t like the colour scheme or style. But it could be easily changed.

GreyGardens88 · 25/04/2019 22:56

I think the decor is horrible, that's not a home

ChrisPrattAteMyHomework · 25/04/2019 22:58

I like the bathroom

But it's a nice clean slate to add your own touches.

The black cinema room is kinda cool too

IdaBWells · 25/04/2019 23:00

Makes you want to buy it and immediately buy a dalmatian.

Kpo58 · 25/04/2019 23:00

I'm amazed that the swimming pool isn't white or black or both.

nespressowoo · 25/04/2019 23:01

I really like it. Very crisp and clean.

Haworthia · 25/04/2019 23:03

Is that Blackwood, South Wales?

Did a Manic Street Preacher own it or something? Grin

Love the exterior!

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 25/04/2019 23:08

I like it. I do think the decor takes away from the architecture though. I can barely tell what size and shape the rooms are.

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 25/04/2019 23:09

I actually prefer the older pics tho.

MyfanwyMontez · 25/04/2019 23:13

It is indeed Blackwood. Though to my knowledge none of The Manics owned it. Grin

LarryGreysonsDoor · 25/04/2019 23:14

Not to my taste but I see the look they are going for and how it fits in with the house.

Therunecaster · 25/04/2019 23:17

I love it
