As the title says - what do you honestly eat on an average day?

OP posts:
MrsJBaptiste · 16/04/2019 20:23

Breakfast - 3 scrambled eggs or 2 eggs & 4 rashers of streaky bacon

Lunch - cheese, ham, salad, olives, stuffed peppers, tapas bits

Dinner - chilli / bolognaise / curry / meat & veg (no pasta / rice / potatoes with this)

Nuts & fruit for snacks with the odd biscuit and tea, coffee & 3 litres of water to drink

OhTheRoses · 16/04/2019 20:25

Today was my first full weightwatchers day after joining yesterday.

Breakfast: fruit
Lunch: 1 slice wholemeal bread, salad, grated cheese
Dinner: servinģ pork casserole, 1 scoop mash, broccoli
Treat: one med glass of wine

That's all my points.
Have eaten and drunk about half my usual ration. Bit of a wake up call.

birkenstocks4ever · 16/04/2019 20:30

Today was fairly typical - no breakfast, cheese bagel, crisps and a pear for lunch, chicken traybake thing with salad and coleslaw for dinner and a cupcake for pudding. Numerous teas throughout the day plus quite a few glasses of water. There will be more tea tonight and there's a milka daim in the fridge with my name on it

fatpatsthong · 16/04/2019 20:37

Work days it's:

Couple of eggs or fruit and yoghurt
Salad with tune/fish/tofu/egg
Fruit - quite often a banana
A fuck tonne of tea and the odd coffee
Regular dinner like stir fry/rice based thing

Then bad things happen. I pick at biscuits, ice cream, chocolate etc. I tend to leave too much time between lunch and dinner then eat too many snacks cos I'm starving

faffymcfaffer · 16/04/2019 20:47

Too much at the moment, I'm snacking for Britain and it needs to stop. Today I had...
Breakfast: 2 hot cross buns
Late morning: two finger kit Kat
Lunch: beans on toast
Afternoon snack : handful of pringles, a Greek yoghurt (not together!)
Dinner: chicken Arrabiata pasta
Evening: another bloody hot cross bun.

I was using my fitness pal app last year and that really helped me to take notice of what I was eating, and therefore eat less junk! Need to get back into the habit.

DrCoconut · 16/04/2019 20:53

I'm amazed at how many people have time for cooked breakfast. We just don't unless it's a day off and even then I don't usually fancy it. Today was tea and crunchy nut cornflakes around 9 (lie in due to day off 😬). Popcorn and Diet Coke at cinema with DC. Baked potato with cauliflower cheese around 5 plus cup of tea (originally planned cheese and beans in the potato but had a tin opener emergency so attacked the batch cooking). Also a slice of home made banana loaf. Will be rummaging round for supper shortly. Not my finest day I guess but you did say be honest!

francienolan · 16/04/2019 21:37

Today I had a bagel and coffee for breakfast, a cheese roll and banana for lunch, and pork and veggie stir fry for dinner. Bagels aren't exactly regular for us (usually toast or Greek yogurt with fruit) but we got some for a treat on the weekend and finished them off today.

Tomorrow I'll have apple slices with peanut butter for breakfast with coffee, probably another cheese roll and fruit for lunch (haven't decided between banana and grapes yet), and I think chicken and broccoli casserole for dinner.

I don't really snack although sometimes if I am hungry before lunch I'll eat my fruit before lunchtime. I used to snack but am losing weight and it's a relatively easy thing for me to cut out.

HennyPennyHorror · 17/04/2019 01:19

DrCoconut did nobody teach you how to open a tin with a small sharp knife? Just stab it in close to the edge and lever the top open.

TantricTwist · 17/04/2019 01:35

so today I ate

2 slices toast with peanut butter, tea and coffee

cold porridge because I forgot about it, tea and coffee. Normally I have a ham/chicken salad sandwich or salad/hummous/ pitta bread not sure why I went for porridge, probably because I spent hours working on a report at home so was just eating to stop hunger pangs.

stir fry with pork, peas and rice noodles, soy sauce marinade concoction, nice and quick and I had to cook the DC something.

apple, BBQ nuts, some sweets as snacks later on.

I drink loads of water throughout the day, sometimes I have wine but not tonight.

NakedAvenger · 17/04/2019 10:14

3 black coffees
Then nothing until dinner (two bowls of soup and cheese)
2 glasses of wine
2 litres of water.

DarlingNikita · 17/04/2019 12:07

I didn't include age and weight etc:

5' 10"
Weigh about 8 and a half stone

DarlingNikita · 17/04/2019 12:08

Oops, butterfingers –Size 6–8

TeacupDrama · 17/04/2019 13:35

breakfast 2 large milky coffees ( not as milky as a latte) 2 slices wholemeal bread with butter

mid morning another coffee

lunch large salad with a small handful of mixed seeds, chorizo and a bit of stilton with apricots cup of tea

mid afternoon when DD home from school decaff coffee maybe some fruit

dinner leftover roast chicken home cooked potato wedges, mushrooms sprouts and braised red cabbage, glass of sparkling water

later a de caff coffee and a slice of birthday cake ( normally would have 2 squares dark chocolate about 20g with my after dinner coffee)
black tea before bed

WhatNowRandy · 17/04/2019 14:03

I wish I HAD some kind of an average day, but I really don't. One day it will be sandwiches, biscuits, pasta and wine, and the next green veg and quinoa and no snacks. I just hope it sort of balances out into semi-healthy diet, but my quantities are too often too big, which is why I'm overweight.

Today I've had two homemade breadrolls with butter and sliced peppers and several mugs of black coffee. I'm not planning on eating more until dinner, which will be oven-cooked salmon, baby leaf salad and some yet to be decided form of carb.

Yesterday I had:

  • Huel and black coffee for breakfast.
  • Two breadrolls with cheese and cucumber in the afternoon.
  • No dinner, but a few gin and tonics.
CabbageLeaf · 18/04/2019 10:53

Bumping because I'm enjoying reading this thread!
I eat loads compared to most people on here. I've always been slim, I'm still a size 10 after two pregnancies.

Breakfast: big bowl of sugar free muesli (oat flakes, rice and millet puffs) with soya milk and one slice of wholemeal toast with butter
Lunch: a big bowl of risotto or lentils or minestrone with loads of beans. Occasionally a piece of bread and butter to go with it.
Some fruit and a yogurt.
Piece of chocolate.

Dinner: pasta with tomato sauce or an omelette (3 eggs) with bread or fish with potatoes. I always have a salad with an oil and vinegar dressing.
Bit of chocolate or a biscuit.

I have an active lifestyle and a job that involves a fair bit of walking around and up and down stairs.
How do people survive on just 800 calories a day? Do you have a lifestyle that's 100% sedentary?

AfterLaughter · 18/04/2019 10:57

Breakfast - cup of tea

Lunch - fuck all

Dinner around 4pm - pasta, jacket potato or toast

My meds have knocked my appetite dead

thenewaveragebear1983 · 18/04/2019 11:00

Cabbage I think most people doing 800 calorie diets are doing it for weightloss. I do over 20k steps most days (so far from sedentary, and that step total includes running and other workouts) and do intermittent fasting which includes days where I eat 800 calories. I did this originally to lose weight, and now do it to maintain my weightloss (currently 10.3/size 8)

roundligament · 18/04/2019 11:05

It varies depending on the day of the week
But honestly I usually have

A coffee
Glass of juice

Bowl of cereal or toast with something savoury on it
Fresh fruit like melon mango raspberries passionfruit tangerines etc

Then a snack at around 1030 say
Pot noodle or noodles
Asian broth
Dim sum
Sandwich
Hams and salamis

Then lunch around 2
Like an egg and smoked fish
Or left overs esp pasta

Dinner around 7 at the moment which changes all the time

Salads with fish in
Fish roasted
Pasta we love pasta with home made sauce

Then I go to bed and have fruits in bed and tea or crisps and sweets or a bowl of cereal

I eat a sandwich in the night too

I'm pregnant and I am usually under weight according to a bmi.
At the moment I weigh 54 kg and I'm 7 months pregnant
This is what I am eating at the moment whilst I'm pregnant
It's less when I'm not pregnant but not much less

lurkingfromhome · 18/04/2019 12:23

Roughly the same sort of stuff every day:

Morning - 2 or 3 coffees made with half a mug skimmed milk
Greek yoghurt with berries and/or other fruit and a small sprinkle of sugar-free granola plus a spoonful of peanuts & dried fruit

Lunch: soup, and/or rye crackers with Philly Light and salad stuff. A piece of fruit.

Afternoon: cup of tea and half a dozen Nkd protein bite things

Dinner: whatever we’re having. I hardly ever eat potatoes, pasta, rice etc but I do eat bread once or twice a week. Dinner often things like chilli tacos, chicken schnitzel with sweetcorn and slaw, meatloaf, curries, salad niçoise etc. Loads of veg. A piece of fruit after.

Before bed: tea and more Nkd bites

Eat out once a week and have dessert then, plus coffee and cake once every week or two.

DarlingNikita · 18/04/2019 15:55

Cup of tea
Yoghurt
Water
Cup of tea
Chicken and gnocchi dinner

If it’s weekend I might have some cheese and biscuits and wine

bebeboeuf · 18/04/2019 16:09

I did an 800 calorie diet a year ago and was not able to exercise even in the slightest.
I had to stop walking places I would normally walk as I just didn’t have it in me.

Normally walk 10-15k steps a day. Typically running around after toddler. A few days a week in front of computer

PinkHeart5914 · 18/04/2019 16:39

I do love food threads 😍

Today I've had
B- 2 crumpets with butter. Coffee

L- chicken salad sandwich, a few crisps ( shared a packet with the dc) mini biscuit

Dinner tonight is going to be- paprika grilled chicken & halloumi salad.

Dessert will be- mango & pineapple with 1 scoop of ice cream

Fairly typical day

Alcohol I have only on Friday & Saturday, due to the calories

Cooked breakfast ( eggs & bacon or pancakes) on weekends

I have the odd day I can't stop eating and I'm like the cookie monster, normally time of the month related but other than that I keep my eating under control but it's a battle tbh, I do just want to eat all the time but also want to be a healthy weight........

Catchingbentcoppers · 18/04/2019 16:45

Today:
B - 2 poached eggs on toast.
L - cheese sarnie and a Danish pastry.
Just had a load of mini eggs.
D - Homemade lasagne

Not a healthy day at all. Tomorrow I aim to have a big bag of salad and lots of veggies ...

BallsOfFluff · 18/04/2019 16:47
