As the title says - what do you honestly eat on an average day?

OP posts:

Coffee first thing then about an hour later, a bannana or toast with butter.

Lunchtime more fruit....sometimes, if I've been walking I will have a sandwich of tuna mayo and salad or cheese salad.

Dinner...whatever we're having....a curry or chicken and potatoes and veg....usual things.

About once a week I gorge on a grab bag sized bag of crisps.

HennyPennyHorror · 16/04/2019 14:34

Oh and add about 3 cups of tea to the list and water.

MoreSlidingDoors · 16/04/2019 14:38

Morning:
2x proper coffee with cream
1ltr water

2pm-ish
125g full fat Greek yogurt
80g raspberries
6g ground flaxseed

Another ltr of water
8pm-ish
Some sort of fish or prawns with veg/stir fry/prawn and spinach curry with cauliflower rice/cheese and mushroom omelette and baked beans.

bringincrazyback · 16/04/2019 14:41

I'm waiting eagerly to see when the 'massive salad' and 'ton of veggies' brigade rock up to this one (she says, crunching down a Maryland cookie)

If I'm at work

Tea before anything
Breakfast - porridge or cereal with berries
Tea at work
Snack - banana and a babybel or some Brazil nuts
Tea
Lunch - sandwich (egg mayo or chicken and apple sauce or ham and chutney) or feta cous cous salad type stuff, bag of snack a jacks, yoghurt
Tea
Snack - sometimes a chocolate bar
Tea
Evening - don't always eat tea, but something like jacket potato and beans, pasta, chicken and veg etc

About 1.5-2l water, sometimes a can of zero coke and I mainline tea with no sugar Grin

If I'm at home I usually skip lunch and have evening meal instead

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 16/04/2019 14:47

I'm trying hard to be healthier, so today I've had a cup of ginger tea in the morning, broccoli and corn for lunch, and some nuts and a cheese straw for snacks.

I am ravenous, but I am also very fat.

Usually I have cereal for breakfast if I'm hungry, and poached eggs for lunch.

For tea, it's usual stuff... spag Bol, fish, curry, chicken, pasta. Me and DP like to cook together so usually whatever one of us fancies.

Fairylea · 16/04/2019 14:48

Too much crap.

Average day...

Homemade pancakes with lemon and sugar
Lots of cups of tea.
Slice of cake mid morning.
Lunch usually jacket potato and cheese and beans or some sort of toasted sandwich
Probably half a bag of share size counters
Dinner whatever everyone has eg spag Bol, curry, roast whatever
After dinner the other half bag of counters Blush
Maybe a satsuma just so I feel better about my life choices Grin

How I’m not 22 stone I’ll never know. I do know I need to eat better really. I can’t carry on eating as much sugar as I do.

cheeseypuff · 16/04/2019 14:48

A massive salad & a ton of veggies..... only joking Grin

Breakfast: Cup of tea & depending on the day
Yogurt, fruit & granola + toast & butter
Cereal + toast
or eggs of some sort on toast

Lunch: sandwich & crisps or salad, fruit

Tea: something like Spag Bol, curry & rice, Fish/meat & veg usual stuff

Water & tea at various intervals

Snacks - either something like fruit or a babybel, biscuits/ small chocolate stuff
Kids tea leftovers (trying not to though!)

nighttimebrowser · 16/04/2019 14:51

Breakfast: Black coffee, usually either plain porridge made w/ dairy free milk, fruit & nuts OR natural yogurt w/ fruit, no added sugar muesli & nuts.

Lunch: Plain wholemeal bagel w/ vegan butter & some fruit OR a pitta bread w/ cheese + salad.
Or even beans on toast etc. Something simple.

Snack: Don't have one every day but it's usually either fruit/a yogurt/smoothie or sometimes a blueberry muffin if I'm out at a coffee shop.

Dinner: Wholewheat pasta w/ quorn bolognese/tomato based pasta sauce etc. Simple stuff (no meat or fish).

(Honestly I eat pasta most days for dinner & it's fine as I don't have a large amount, just use wholewheat pasta & a no added sugar sauce or make your own!)Smile

Ocies · 16/04/2019 14:51

Morgan12 · 16/04/2019 14:52

Coffee.

Usually eggs and toast or an omelette for breakfast.

Always have a banana and yoghurt at some point. Maybe a babybel or cheese string.

A cup a soup to tide me over till dinner.

Dinners include curries, fish, pasta, chicken, steak.

A freddo or biscuit with some tea.

One takeaway a week. Mostly Chinese.

margaritasbythesea · 16/04/2019 14:52

Two eggs for breakfast

Either cheese, nuts and an apple for lunch or a tuna sandwich.

Snack either cheese, banana, yoghurt with nuts or tea and toast.

Dinner is variable. A veg soup, cold meat platter, salad, sometimes what the kids are having like a chicken curry. Occasionally a bowl if pasta.

AtleastitsnotMonday · 16/04/2019 14:52

I would add mine but I really do eat a massive salad and ton of veggies so I think I’ll refrain!

SallyWD · 16/04/2019 14:54

I eat in an 8 hour window only. Around 10am I'll have coffee, fruit salad and something like a cheese toasty or fish finger sandwich.

I'll usually have a little something sweet around lunchtime (a biscuit or a few squares of chocolate). At about 3pm I have my big meal eg lentil curry, pasta with loads of vegetables and cheese, veggie shepherd's pie.

After that I don't eat a great deal but often polish off the kids meals if they can't eat it all or just nibble on a few things.

Cloudhopping · 16/04/2019 14:55

Breakfast 1-2 slices brown toast, butter and marmite

Morning snack-banana

Lunch-tuna mayo sandwich, apple, bag of crisps

Mid afternoon-2 pancakes with butter

Tea-will be homemade pasta with cheese and fresh tomatoes with garlic bread and a salad

Probably couple biscuits in the evening

Lots of tea and water

InDubiousBattle · 16/04/2019 14:56

Today-
Low fat fruit yogurt
Tin of Big Soup
A custard cream
Tea will be chorizo and halloumi bake (chorizo, red onion, peppers and sweet potatoes roasted in the oven with a load of halloumi melted over it at the end) with cous cous

Cloudhopping · 16/04/2019 14:57

Actually looking at mine compared to others I seem to eat quite a lot! I e never been one that can skip meals. I’m an average weight for my height-not thin but never been overweight.

gotmychocolateimgood · 16/04/2019 14:58

Coffee and one buttered hot cross bun OR one slice of toast with butter OR one piece of fruit

Home made soup OR sandwich with yoghurt, couple of small pieces of chocolate

Spaghetti bolognese OR roast dinner OR stir fry
Fruit OR one scoop ice cream

Today though I met a friend for breakfast, which was a massive full English plus pancakes with Nutella plus a Danish. I'll have a snack at dinner time and that's it.

CwtchMeQuick · 16/04/2019 15:00

Average day...

Breakfast- tea and breakfast biscuits if I’m working, maybe toast or crumpets if I’m home.

Lunch- today was sandwich with veg sticks and hummus. Sometimes jacket potato or soup or salad.

Dinner- usually something like curry, chilli, enchiladas, fish pie, quiche. Tonight is stroganoff and rice.

Snacks- yoghurt, maybe some biscuits or chocolate. Might have some sweets or ice cream once a week or twice a week after dinner.

onetwofive · 16/04/2019 15:00

Cup of tea first thing

Either porridge or toast/bagels/similar for breakfast

Probably another piece of toast or second bowl of porridge a bit later, and/or some biscuits or chocolate, maybe with a coffee midmorning.

Lunch v changeable but a sandwich if I'm out, maybe leftovers if I'm at home, sometimes I just end up eating too much toast instead...

More tea and probably a biscuit or choc in the afternoon

Dinner also varies a lot, quite often have pasta of some description though. Trying to up the veggies.

Maybe a glass of juice at some point and a couple of apples.

Quite often have a little something after dinner, not often proper pudding but again a biscuit or choc

Gosh I'm really not very healthy atm but am fb so can sort of get away with it!

InMyBloodstainedSundaysBest · 16/04/2019 15:01

Breakfast
Banana and egg pancakes with golden syrup or nothing if it's a porridge day for my toddler

Lunch
The crusts from the toddlers sandwich followed by whatever rubbish I can lay my hands on in the kitchen whilst she's busy eating.. think crisps or chocolate bars if at all possible

Snack
An apple... Usually because I've eaten everything sugary in the house

Dinner
Something sensible so I can pretend to my husband that I eat this well all day. Usually meat and roasted vegetables/stir fry/chilli/casserole. Nothing fancy, but definitely healthy.

It's no wonder I can barely get my jeans on anymore. Must do better.

Basilandparsleyandmint · 16/04/2019 15:01

I'm very pregnant at the moment. Either throwing up of uncomfortably full. So food is generally of the sort you'd eat when you have a hangover.
