I get an occasional gift voucher for debenhams given to me, but this year struggled to find anything, perhaps it was bad timing, there was a huge jumble sale of a sale going on.
but it has never been my go to shop.
is it yours?

Have you spent it yet? I would, you know they’re in financial trouble?

HoraceCope · 14/04/2019 07:13

i did spend it due to forecasted financial problems

It looked like it was in its death throes a few months ago when I went in so never returned!

No I don't shop there. Used to work for them many years ago and they were shits to work for so they don't get my custom now Grin

MidnightLavender · 14/04/2019 07:23

I only go there to buy Kat Von D makeup and if Double Wear has money off.

LeonoraFlorence · 14/04/2019 07:24

Not really to be honest. I find it too much of a mish mash. Could you buy perfume or make up? I do sometimes buy their ‘Floozie’ brand swimwear online, fits me perfectly so I always go back to it.

LeonoraFlorence · 14/04/2019 07:24

Ah sorry, didn’t realise you spent it!

MadisonAvenue · 14/04/2019 07:25

No, I don’t. It’s a shop I don’t think to go into despite often walking past the one in Birmingham.

cariadlet · 14/04/2019 07:32

I only use it when dd has grown and needs new bras. The women who do the measuring at our local Debenhams are lovely.

BooksAreMyOnlyFriends · 14/04/2019 07:37

I used to love some of their own clothing ranges, swimwear and shoes but over the last few years I've struggled to find much. The childrens ranges aren't great either. Nothing at all for teen dd.

It's a shame as ours is a lovely historic store and I have fond memories of shopping there as a young child.

Our John Lewis is usually very quiet too, apart from the restaurant which gets packed. They do seem to pull it back over the Christmas period though.

megletthesecond · 14/04/2019 07:38

No.
I did buy maternity clothes there 10+ years ago but nothing since.

Perty01234 · 14/04/2019 07:40

Makeup; online!

exLtEveDallas · 14/04/2019 07:43

I like a lot of the Mantaray clothing, it's comfortable and hard wearing for work, and their Debut eveningwear range was always a good bet for formal functions (in the days when I went to lots!) But other than that, no.

TerribleTwosPhase · 14/04/2019 07:46

I buy some clothes from DD from the Ted Baker range as that used to be the only place that sold it but I think Ted Baker & Next also sell it. DP also buys his jeans from there. I think it would be a shame if they all closed down and it was yet another empty store on the high street. I can't imagine another shop big enough to take over our local store.

Mememeplease · 14/04/2019 07:46

I buy a lot there. I'm very upset that they are in trouble. It's my go to shop for basics. I can normally find something that fits me well, unlike a lot of other places.

TroysMammy · 14/04/2019 07:47

I bought Mantaray bags and panda slippers in December. Although prior to that I hadn't bought anything there for a few years.

Honeyroar · 14/04/2019 07:48

I like Debenhams. I’ll be sorry if it goes under.

cece · 14/04/2019 07:49

I buy quite a few things there. I get all my bras and swimwear from there so I'm gutted.

MirandaWest · 14/04/2019 07:49

I bought a dressing gown there about three years ago but don’t think anything since

Sirzy · 14/04/2019 07:51

All of ds tops are from Debenhams. They are the only place I can get ones narrow enough to look right without spending a fortune.

A fair few bits of my clothes are from there too actually.

I like Debenhams

Marmite27 · 14/04/2019 07:51

Jeans from Mantaray.

Hellywelly10 · 14/04/2019 07:51

I bought some bras there anout 6 months ago. I shop there less and less tbh. It wo be sad to see all the empty shops in so many high streets.

BadLad · 14/04/2019 07:51

I buy some of their novelties after Christmas, when they are massively reduced.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 14/04/2019 07:52

It’s nearest shop to wear I work so pop in often but aside from that there is nothing in there that would make me think of actively going there on say a weekend

Stereomum · 14/04/2019 07:52

I used to shop regularly in Debenhams 10 + years ago. Haven't bought anything in there apart from the odd bra for years.
