Has anyone forgotten what time their baby was born?

I remember DS&2 but I can't remember what time DS3 was born.

It was a straight forward, boring birth as well so it's not like it was traumatic.

I'm not sure if I should feel bad that I can't remember.

Has anyone else forgotten?!

No - I was supposed to be in a meeting first thing in the morning (DS was early and I hadn't finished work) so I was joking with DH that he needed to call my boss to say that I'd be late for our meeting (about 6 months late)

MrsMozartMkII · 12/04/2019 16:53

Y'up.

Time and weights.

No recollection of any of the details, but I'm not worried about it. I know I have a shit memory for numbers. They're here and wonderful and that's all that matters (Disclaimer: all that matters to me, other views are also available).

Ds1 - 12.24am. PFB!
Ds2 - erm, no Idea! Think it might have been 5pm or thereabouts.
Ds3 - 2am-ish. Maybe.
Ds4 - few minutes after ds3.
Ds5 - around 10am.

The registrar asked me his time of birth when we went to register DC1's birth. It might have been because he was not with us (he was still in PICU), so they asked for more detail. I do not think they asked when we registered DC2.

I remember both times of birth, and their birth weights. I am terrible for remembering really weird details, while forgetting the things I actually need to know though.

NoonAim · 12/04/2019 16:55

I can remember and it's on their birth certificates.

AtiaoftheJulii · 12/04/2019 16:56

Was just having this conversation with #4 a few days ago.
#1 5.09 am, #2 2.30 am, #3 between 8.10-8.20 am, #4 erm 6? 6.30? (I do know it was also a.m.!)

Dockray · 12/04/2019 16:56

Nobody knows what time DC2 was born. She was an unplanned homebirth and we were all too busy panicking to look at a clock. Some time between 9pm and 9.30pm, with a best guess of around 9.20 is as good as she gets Grin

Jaffacakebeast · 12/04/2019 16:57

I wish! Engraved in my brain forever

Land0r · 12/04/2019 16:57

DD1 8.03am and DD2 5.18am. Both Monday mornings!

BikeRunSki · 12/04/2019 16:57

It’s in their red books. 6.27 am/7lb 10oz, 11.43pm/7lb 3oz.

WanderingAimlessly · 12/04/2019 17:00

No idea for either. I know I’m a 7.30am ish sort of way, but not exact. No idea how much they weighed either.

ShivD · 12/04/2019 17:00

I remember DS1 and 2 as well but not 3 and 4! Seems two times are all my brain can hold!

ConstanzaAndSalieri · 12/04/2019 17:00

It is helpful that two of mine were born at the same time, within a minute. 1201 and 1202.

Xichuensis · 12/04/2019 17:02

One of them was born at 21:21 so I always remember that. The other was about half 1 in the morning but I think.

flitwit99 · 12/04/2019 17:03

#1 9.10am I think?
#2 15.51
#3 no idea. Lunchtime-ish

That's awful. I'm going to look it up when I get home and commit it to memory for ever and ever.

Miljah · 12/04/2019 17:04

I can't remember. Nor their weights! Grin

MillieMoodle · 12/04/2019 17:05

First was born at 11.37pm, but it was recorded as 11.40pm as DH rounded up to the nearest 5 mins when they asked him the time. My closest friend was getting married the next day and I was desperate for the baby to arrive before her wedding day, rather than on it, so think I'll always remember the time.

Second one, the midwife wrote down 2.39am but we have photos on DH's phone of me holding him at 2.37am, so we're going with that!

Wineinbathtub · 12/04/2019 17:06

Don't worry, I sometimes get the date wrong let alone the time Grin. I was just completely out of it

JazzersMaw · 12/04/2019 17:06

Just asked # 1 and 3 as they are both at ds1’s just now. #3 says ‘3.15’ for him but I think he’s been influenced by my vagueness. Ds 1 doesn’t know. I know none of it matters.

Knitclubchatter · 12/04/2019 17:10

I’m over 60. I’m sure if I dig around maybe I’d find something.
First was a late evening c/s
Second planned but delayed due to a hospital emergency c/s
Third planned and on time c/s
All birth certificates long ago handed to the then young adults.

BoobiesToTheRescue · 12/04/2019 17:11

I wasn't given any paper work for any of the kids, no. They keep all that and it goes on their record.

And no, the time isn't on their birth certificate.

@fitwit99 how do you look it up?

OP posts:
BoobiesToTheRescue · 12/04/2019 17:13

@bikerunski where abouts in their red book?

No one wrote anything in his until he was 6 weeks. Which I didn't realise until the HV commented on it. And I definitely didn't put their time of birth in there.

Jjacobb · 12/04/2019 17:20

Dd was 7.18am. Ds was a home birth and it was only when he had been cleaned up and I was having a cuddle and a cuppa that one of the three midwives asked if anyone had recorded the time of birth. No one had so we will never know.

happyhillock · 12/04/2019 17:24

DD1-5.40am
DD2-4.17pm
