Anyone else hate a programme that their DP LOVES? Complain about it here!

Obviously DH & I don't love all the same tv programmes, but one that he loves and I really despise is Blue Bloods. I can't really be bothered to go anywhere when it's on, so I'm stuck on the sofa reading and trying to ignore it.

I'm sure it's a perfectly good show, but I hate it, and since DH no longer listens to my complaints about it, I'll put them here:

The entire family being great salt-of-the-earth cops. All just too good.

Tom Selleck's character and his constant moral high ground.

The stupid trite family dinner with the grandad and his stupid twee speeches. As if anyone ever does that.

Wheeler dealers- you can tell which series it is by how orange Mike is. I can’t stand all the fake bargaining that goes on.
Arrow and the flash because I haven’t a clue what’s going on - arrow keeps doing endless flashbacks and the flash keeps finding endless alternate universes and then they COMBINE them!!?!
Any gardening or home design programme because it gives him ideas that he will start and not finish

Masterchef
With monotonous regularity, someone ALWAYS serves up duck that they have mistimed and so is raw; there is always a desert that doesn’t set; a menu that is too simple; a contestant who is amazing to start with but then falls away and they are always, constantly running out of time. And I hate cooking and so not care! Yawn!!!!!

Don't like Game of thrones. Also cycling races, Most boring thing in the world.
I avoid things with aliens or super heroes, mythical stuff with horses, fast and furious movies. Movies that are half way through and we don't understand the story but DH simply must watch.

Ah I forgot Time fecking Team actually had to ban it once more4 was running it over a bank holiday weekend gives me the rage.

Any of those stupid low-brow "men's documentaries" like How Do They Do That? or survivalist shite. I think what I hate most is that I get a little bit sucked in, and then feel cross that I have wasted the last hour.

Storage Hunters and the U.K. version of that show where they auction forgotten lock ups. The characters on there make me want to hurl things.

They dig up tonnes of earth, then the digger breaks down and after sifting the dirt they find about 1gram of gold.

Every episode they dig a bit further and find NOTHING!!

We’re in the USA and if left to himself DH would devote himself to American Pickers, Pawn Stars, storage wars, too many car renovation shows (including Wheeler fucking Dealers) to list, baseball and NASCAR. I do a lot of gritting my teeth and reading and listening to music when he’s watching them.

Fortunately we share a love of GOT, Big Bang Theory, Breaking Bad, True Detective, Fargo, Better Call Saul, Dr Who, John Oliver, David Attenborough, Good Eats, tennis, athletics, wrestling, various BBC dramas and comedies, Gotham, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage et al. He’s also happy to indulge me when I’m binge rewatching Buffy or I Claudius or the Tudors or getting excited about anything to do with stars and the universe so we muddle along fairly happily.

Another vote for Wheeler fucking Dealers - just the sound of Mike Ballbags voice is enough to set me off

There is a debating one on Albanian tv that really annoys me. It is like British newsnight and has political figures etc but they don’t debate they just shout. The chair has no idea how to do his job - he just looks nervous but then again if you understood anything about Albanian democracy then you would understand. The other night I got confused because one shouted a slang word for female genitalia. My husband laughed and said he meant April. Says it all.

Worse is the sodding news though. He will insist that we watch BBC news at 6 then turn over to Channel 4 news at 7 "in case it's a different perspective". Just read a selection of bloody newspapers then!!
