The best hotel you've ever stayed in (or "your favourite")

I'm not really asking about the most fancy/expensive/etc, but rather the hotel that you've most enjoyed staying in or that was most beautiful or well located or whatever made is the best to you. Can be in the UK or abroad (or a few!)

Talking about honeymoons with DP and it doesn't look like we're going to have the time immediately after the wedding to go away due to work and study, so we're thinking about making a list of places we want to stay/go and aim to do all of them in the first 5-10 years of marriage (depending on how expensive they are and how many we choose). I know the likelihood of us doing it is probably quite slim but it's good to dream.

We're fairly well travelled, but have only ever really travelled on the cheap or in quite generic AIs, so interesting/luxurious/fun hotels are key over "going somewhere new".

Really hoping to get some responses and spend the rest of the night googling!

Not the best or most favourite but certainly the most memorable.
On the edge of the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton. I cannot remember it's name. It was obviously quite cheap and catered for the casts of the shows etc that played the Pavilion.
Flyers for long gone (think 60s, 70s etc) shows and acts plastered all over the lifts. Black and white signed photos of long dead stars covering the corridor walls.
On one corridor, printed off A3 size were the front pages of that day's newspapers. But, newspapers from New Zealand and Australia!
Serve yourself breakfast had everything you could ever imagine wanting for an English breakfast.
However, the stand out bit of our stay was in the bedroom. Around the walls were 7 framed pictures of Brad Pitt! From young days to the present. Not sure he ever stayed in Buxton. It is unnerving I tell you to have Brad Pitt looking down on you as you get dressed, undressed, etc😃
We assumed all bedrooms had a star featured in them.
The Trip Advisor reviews for the hotel were shall we say different, mainly as the manager seemed to be a northern Basil Fawlty.
