Drama in the local Facebook group.

A hairdresser opened up a salon in our village and spammed posted frequently in the village Facebook page about it.

The one and only Admin got annoyed and requested she stop. She kicked off, others joined the fray, pointing out that her posts were better than the ones about dog poo.

The admin archived the group in retaliation. He's just opened it up and announced he's quitting as admin.

So that's our scandal. Any going on in yours? It's better than Coronation Street.

OP posts:

Most of you must live near me.
Dog poo, the parking at Aldi, dodgy blokes in vans, grainy cctv. The usual "i just want to say thanks to the person who smashed my back doors in..." that kind of shite.
Oh local housing developments, traffic. Found debit cards. All guff.

NewYoiker · 26/03/2019 23:21

I'm on 2.. 1 is very la di dar and people show cctv photos of strange cars and vans in the village 'heads up I've seen this transit van just be aware' it got so bad that someone posted 'I'm going here in a van to pick up x at Ys request please don't call the police 😂'

The other one is 99% posts of crashes that happen on the new bypass as people can't read traffic lights 'oh another crash on the bypass.. why can't people drive etc!' 😂

Our old area had the best though! There was a very exciting period where different planes to normal were flying into the local airport and it was 100s of photos of planes like 'this insert random military plane landed at this time and made a very loud noise' cue 100s of comments of 'yeah we know we live near by'

MrsJayy · 26/03/2019 23:24

Do you live in 1990 tapas

weaseley · 26/03/2019 23:26

I left the UK and I miss these groups! Ours is genuinely lovely but only for women in our town Confused. It has been a good source of info. No ranting about dog poo though. Shame.

GabsAlot · 26/03/2019 23:29

the helicopter is up again anyone know what for?

the bins are all across the street

and where the travellers are parked this week

Geekster1963 · 26/03/2019 23:29

Ours is usually about dog poo or suspicious white vans (it was postie)! I was a rebel a few weeks ago when I put up a post about how nice some teenagers were to my young DD Grin

Connieston · 26/03/2019 23:32

More dog poo and parking at Aldi here plus concerned posts about random conpletely not stray freeloading cats.

spannerintheneck · 26/03/2019 23:33

Some bloke in a van parked across three disabled bays in local supermarket car park this evening, disabled woman shouted at him then put it on the village group, all his mates are now on there saying it's no big deal the car park was empty and taking the piss out of anyone who dares disagree 🤷‍♀️

VillageEejit · 26/03/2019 23:34

I give you, Bin Lorrygate. I just love the author's colourful descriptions. Very exciting for a Monday morning in the village.

Lost/found cats, every bloody day.
Parking
The amount of coffee shops we have
How the area’s changed from being boho to expensive MC,blah, blah, blah.

Whitelisbon · 26/03/2019 23:35

Ranting about the local hooligans riding their bikes in the park (gasp, shock, how dare they!)
Rants about rubbish.
Grainy cctv - this man knocked at my door earlier, anyone know who he is?
And the big thing today was the meter reader was out, and a run down of where he was and where he was heading next. Poor bloke.

Progress2019 · 26/03/2019 23:38

Huge drama here today.

Someone who works in a nursing home has had her car spat on because she keeps parking it in a road where there are lots of flats and not enough parking for residents. Apparently she’s allowed to do this, as there are no yellow lines, and there’s no parking where she works. There’s a Sainsbury’s car park very close, but she would have to pay £6 a day.

People are livid on her behalf. Absolutely it’s her right, and bugger the residents of the flats. Then along comes a man who lives there. He’s disgusted by the spitting, however says the residents have a letter from the council, warning them that if people continue to park so dangerously, the binmen have refused to empty their wheelie bins, as it’s too dangerous.

The lady from the care home continues to say it’s her right, and why should she have to pay to go to work.

No one has mentioned that probably everyone who works in the shops in town has to pay to park, or for the bus.

This is the most excitement I’ve ever seen since living here. Up until now all we’ve had was a young homeless man who everyone loved. People were queuing up to take him clothes, food and tents. However there was a lady selling The Big Issue, and people were warned to avoid her, as she definitely drove a BMW and lived in a four bedroomed detached house in Guildford.

GreenTulips · 26/03/2019 23:38

The ‘Anyone recommend a plumber/electrician not charging ££££’

Err ring round for a few quotes!!

The ‘Best place for Sunday dinner’

And yes we have dog poo and yobs

Justgivemesomepeace · 26/03/2019 23:40

Tonight there is a woman knocking on doors asking for money. She has drawn a mask on her face in felt tipped pen. Apparently shes known for and is a drug addict.
1 lost cat
Someone has nicked 2 bags of cement from someones drive and left a trail to their house from dragging it. But the victim doesnt mind because they were left over and he might drop a pile of bricks off on the perpetrators drive as he doesnt need those either.

ShirleyPhallus · 26/03/2019 23:42

Mine is so fucking bonkers, it’s brilliant

I’ll take some screenshots and blank out the names

cheesenpickles · 26/03/2019 23:43

I'm in a lot of random ones due to my line of work. There's some clangers but my face is Brenda. Brenda posts super aggressive, totally cryptic messages about well... I'm not sure. She also lost a boot and was trying to get people to locate it for her last spotted on my foot outside the "good" Co-Op" and a rant about someone's dog looking at her "funny".

Then there's another group where the admin guy makes these mandatory polls about super divisive stuff. If you don't respond within 48 hours he boots you. He also gets super cross about the roof on Tesco.

Bloody love them.

Justgivemesomepeace · 26/03/2019 23:43

Oh and a few panicked sounding last minute requests for recommendations for gcse tutors, as its been the final parents evening for yr 11's at the local high school.

UrsulaPandress · 26/03/2019 23:43

We have several as people start rival groups due to falling out with admin. Dd tries to ban me from posting as I can get argumentative.

Today there is the usual dog poo, cars parked on pavements, convicted peodophile councillor, Brexit and the door stop sellers from the North East.

Changedname220 · 26/03/2019 23:44

People moaning about kids.
Vans driving around looking at houses .
Cars they don’t recognise parked in the street with the reg number posted and people usually checking to see if it’s taxed / insured or not or whether it’s on false plates
Complaining the area is going to the dogs and not like it was when they were young

Nameisthegame · 26/03/2019 23:45

Changedname220 · 26/03/2019 23:45

Oh yes and ex offenders knocking door to door selling cleaning products and is it dodgy (someone usually suggests calling the non emergency number to make them aware )

CaptainSquirrel · 26/03/2019 23:46

I live in an estate of flats. Quite often have posts about fly tipping in the communal bins, parking space wars and the wee scrotes from the neighbouring estate throwing stones at cars. The vast majority though are poor fuckers trying to find parcels because they never get delivered to the right place. Having had several go missing I've now told everyone I know to send everything to my work address. One was a homemade gift from my niece. 😞

PotterHead1985 · 26/03/2019 23:50

Missing pets.
Dog poop.
Shoddy street lights.
Wheelie bins blocking footpaths
Irish water!!
Dodgy looking vans
Recommend this and that
The weather
And anyone know the white mini bus with the uk reg that ripped the side off a car.

TheKrakening3 · 26/03/2019 23:58

Pythons eating cats and chickens. So, so many posts. Usually with pics.

Shimy · 26/03/2019 23:58

I just joined ours because it sounds fascinating.
