I couldn’t believe my eyes today - beauty in nature

Ok, so this is maybe not massively exciting, but I thought it was one hell of a coincidence in nature and lovely to see.

I passed a field today - a field with no pond or any other exciting feature - and side by side were two swans, two geese and two pheasants!

I see the swans most days, but imagine seeing those three pairs next to one another.

Wish I could have taken a pic.

Lovely. I once saw a new on in am artificial water feature. Brem them many times since and never saw it again.

ProseccoSupernova · 26/03/2019 20:03

I saw a lamb standing on its mum’s back! 🤣

MrsMozartMkII · 26/03/2019 20:04

Lovely images, thank you.

AyahuascaTrip · 26/03/2019 20:08

My kind of thread! Sometimes some things are too special to photograph anyway.

BikeRunSki · 26/03/2019 20:11

I used to drive across the Peak District to get to work and I saw some wonderful sights. I often stopped to watch starlings.

Unescorted · 26/03/2019 20:17

I have a tawny owl who seems to take great pleasure flying alongside me as I cycle to the station. It does it a couple of times a week - scaring me every single time because it flies silently up from behind me and then whooshes across & into a copse of trees. I guess now the days are getting longer I won't see it. Something to look forward to in the autumn.

WeaselKingHenry · 26/03/2019 20:36

It felt really special

Aw, lovely. Smile The other week I was driving past some woods to pick my DH up from work and had to stop in a passing space for an oncoming car. I glanced sideways and standing around 10M away was a beautiful huge white stag. Also wished I'd been able to take a photo! I keep my eyes peeled whenever we go that way but no sighting since!

AndromedaPerseus · 26/03/2019 20:41

The blossom on trees is magnificent at the moment it just transforms an urban landscape together with the bird song

Goatrider · 26/03/2019 20:41

Lovely 😊

I was driving in the countryside late at night and I saw a group of fox cubs playing about on the verge. Stopped and watched for a while, lit up by my headlights. This was years ago but still a strong memory

Isadora2007 · 26/03/2019 20:50

Awww that’s so nice.
We saw a field with wee lambs all skipping and gambolling around with each other last week. Ds(6) thought they were so cute it made him cry. Bless.

Cherrysoup · 26/03/2019 20:50

On the way home from work, I often see a group of female pheasants in a field. 200 yards down the road, there are lots of male pheasants! Weird!

The verses of the road home are currently stacked with banks of daffodils. Fabulous to look at.

Allyg1185 · 26/03/2019 20:54

I have bluetits nesting in a box in my garden. I watch them while having breakfast

BillywigSting · 26/03/2019 21:00

I have a family of magpies nesting in a tree at the bottom of the garden and they might not have the best reputation but I think they are the most charming little birds.

They were almost definitely playing hide and seek with each other a couple of days ago and occasionally drop little shiny things (bottle tops, sweet wrappers) on my back door step since I started leaving them food out in the winter.

The sky this morning was spectacular. I did snap a rather poor picture which does it no justice. Made me feel so happy all morning.

We have a little Robin that we always see on the walk to school Smile
We also have a huge flock of starlings that fly over our house in the evenings at the moment, so breathtaking to watch

FlamingoFlamenco · 26/03/2019 21:08

I got up for an early - 6 a.m cuppa this morning. Wondered down to the kitchen, looked out of the window to see a Heron sat on the garden fence. Fabulous!

FallenMadonnawiththeBadBoobies · 26/03/2019 21:21

Andromeda - you are so right. The blossom, which is always wonderful, is absolutely magnificent this year. The humble Hawthorne trees are flowering their socks off and the magnolia trees are stunning.

AliceLutherNeeMorgan · 26/03/2019 21:24

Yes, we’ve really noticed the hawthorns blossoming in absolute clouds at the moment - they give such depth to all the hedgerows!

Gentlemanwiththistledownhair · 26/03/2019 21:25

I spent twenty minutes at the weekend watching a lamb follow a duck around the field. So cute. The duck kept stopping to look at the lamb before carrying on again. You could almost see the lamb thinking "what weird sheep is this?" and the duck thinking "why are you following me? Leave me alone!" Grin

SpringIsSprung1 · 26/03/2019 21:26

My favourite time of year, hence my name! The earth is awakening, new beginnings and fresh hopeSmile

Malope · 26/03/2019 21:27

This is lovely.

Not wildlife, but this week my cats have started sunning their bellies on the patio. It's a good sign!

I'd love to co-travel with an owl...

giveovermypreciousss · 26/03/2019 21:35

I saw 2 lambs laying side by side and another lamb hopped over them. It was lovely

BettyBigBollocks · 26/03/2019 21:37

How lovely! And the duck/lamb story is ridiculously cute! 😊

Not overly exciting but each morning I pass a Buzzard perched on a fence post close to the road; he looks so proud and handsome sat there early in the morning. If I don’t see him, I know I’ll be late for work!

I used to drive an alternative route home, that took much longer, just to see a Barn Owl perched on a post too, every evening at the same time, so beautiful!

Rhubarbisevil · 26/03/2019 21:37

I saw a lamb standing on its mum’s back too Prosecco - was it this morning?
