How do you pronounce sandwich?

I had no idea I did this until a colleague gently mocked me for it.

I listened to some others and they do it too.

I - apparently - say sangwich. Brought up on the west coast of Scotland, if that explains it.

I've just been saying it to myself and I'm fairly sure I manage to somehow carry the d over to the wich

My mum says sangwich I say sandwich you could say piece and really annoy your workmate ☺

It's sandwich. I'm Scottish and the only people I have known to say sangwich are children who don't know how it's spelt and have never been corrected because it's 'cute'. Apparently.

Well in austalia a sandwich is a 'sanger' so maybe theres an connection with how they pronounce it. Like mom, etc being exported to america.

Thank goodness others say samwidge too, just asked DP and he said I'm odd for saying m instead of n. He says saNwidge.
