How do you pronounce sandwich?

I had no idea I did this until a colleague gently mocked me for it.

I listened to some others and they do it too.

I - apparently - say sangwich. Brought up on the west coast of Scotland, if that explains it.

Natural instinct is sam widge (grew up in North West).

However, if I am being fancy, I'll say sam witch. Grin

Loads of Scottish people say 'sangwich' in my experience but if you're now living in England they'll be thrown by this (as I was when first moved to Scotland).

Agree with earlier poster - start calling it a 'piece' and watch their heads explode.

See in Glasgow we say piece so its not a word I say much....I think I say samwidge, I keep saying it and it sounds weird so I'm not sure.
