How do you pronounce sandwich?

I had no idea I did this until a colleague gently mocked me for it.

I listened to some others and they do it too.

I - apparently - say sangwich. Brought up on the west coast of Scotland, if that explains it.

Sand-wich, but the d is barely enunciated. Southern US.

YourEggnogIsBetterThanMine · 23/03/2019 12:15

Sand witch.

Sangwidge is like nails on a chalkboard. I'd take "pieces" over "saaaangwidge" any day.

CalamityJune · 23/03/2019 12:16

Sanwidge

RedLipClassic · 23/03/2019 12:27

I say sangwich and I'm in Glasgow

Sandwich. Pronouncing the d and with a definite ”ch” sound on the end. DP mocks me for saying it this way but then he calls it a sarnie!

I suspect its to wind me up. Wink
