So last night I was on FB and saw a decorate a post saying there were still places available on a cookie decorating workshop.

Well I love that crap, and sent a PM to say interested. The lady came back to me to say to reserve place I should pay. I duly did, and thought would introduce myself further.

The group was called first mummies club, but I assumed it was like Mumsnet so ALL mums welcome. Boy was I wrong.

"Normally, First Mummies' Club is aimed at Mums of primary school aged children and below.

When other Mums have approached me before who have older children, I've suggested alternative groups that may be more suitable."

Really?? I'm not welcome to do crafts as I have older children??

As you've paid me, I'd be happy to have you on this occasion.

First Mummies club? You have to be kidding me.
Oh wow that is truly nauseating.
Op your breakaway sounds far more exciting - and probably better we don’t taint their group with a good dose of reality. So stepfors wives - not sure what they were thinking?! Bloody embarrassing - cringy and truly anal sounding. Thank god you have a refund Grin

Let me know if you set up a rival group in Watford, I'll come along!

That FB link is comedy gold. One mummy has done an illustration with the title "Do the universe a favour, don't hide your magic." Well I bet that made the universe's day, some organically dressed mummy enjoying some me time by decorating a biscuit with images of existential angst.

What happens when the mummies stop being first time mummies and have a second child! Are they then cast out from the group? The shame, the shame!!

Please - if I ever use the term 'love-bombing' to mean I'm just doing something with one of my children, please just shoot me.

Maybe you could be the Menopausal Mums Mafia? Less twee, more rage-y.

Nah. You were lucky to get away. Just read the blog and she reckons that people were ‘enthralled’ by her child. I couldn’t have stood five minutes in the same room as her tbh.

Find a crafty WI that meets in a pub OP.

"Me time" (🤮) that involved sitting around being twee and talking about the D.C. i was supposed to be taking a break from would have me attempting death by cookie-cutter.

I find people or groups of people who refer to each other as ‘mummy’ or ‘mummies’ best avoided.

I can see that group going from Public to Private shortly, so that you have to be a member to see and post it.

Another here who hates the whole notion of "Mummies" in this way

I want to learn to paint biscuits.

I like biscuits because I'm a mammoth.

But I'm a male mammoth and have no kids.

And I'm nowhere near Watford.

Feckers won't accept me.

Can I join your new club watfordmummy please?
