I've just finished watching Behind The Curve on Netflix - a documentary about the Flat Earth movement. I remain unconvinced but still good fun to watch.

there was a story doing the rounds in the press some years ago about a 'senior royal' being found in bed with one of the servants.

The version I heard had David Linley (Princess Margaret's son) as the royal in question.

Princess Margaret had an illegitimate baby.

While I don't believe the Yuri Gargarin story it wouldn't surprise me if it turned out to be true, given the Soviet Union's predilection for covering up bad news.

In the build up to the Falklands war Thatcher tried very hard to negotiate a peaceful deal and avoid bloodshed. The military were much more gung-ho than her. There’s testimony on camera from people involved at the time in a BBC documentary about it. (And France was a much better ally than the US.)

A collapsing regime in Argentina couldn’t back down though.

And I imagine this sort of stupid shit about supposed warmongering for political gain is very offensive to the families of those who died or were horribly injured in that conflict.

@longwayoff Thank you. Twice I've been called aggressive on the thread now. MN is one of the sweariest forums I know and I've only ever used the c-word once in eight years and I get pulled up for using the word bollocks or for being brief.

There's clearly a conspiracy involving a couple of posters on this thread who think Shatner is actually Satan.

I was enjoying reading this thread but a couple of people clearly lead very odd lives if they find anything that Shatner has put on here as aggressive. I agree with @longwayoff

Kissing, this is probably not the place for it but it's a fact that war is always for some form of political gain. Otherwise there'd be even less point to it. Owl, I hope you don't find this distressing, my apologies if so.

I've been bemused at the posters calling Shatner's comments aggressive; both times I have gone back and re-read the posts in question and could not see any aggression in them at all.
They are, as s/he said, admirably succinct and to the point.

I'm obviously proof, along with iklboo, that not only are the conspiracy theories that dinosaurs didn't exist fake news, but that some of us didn't die out either.

@GoldenEvilHoor - Bill Bryson's 'A Walk In The Woods' explains it in a very interesting non alien way. Basically they're so massive and some so dense an entire light aircraft was missing for years.
