Does anyone have a spare £1.25m they don't really need any more

I can make good use of it

And what are your plans for the house, Stealth? Do you have a large family, or will you be hosting big house parties (I feel your invitations would have to be for "Friday to Sunday" rather than using the vulgar term "weekend")?

StealthPolarBear · 16/03/2019 22:27

I thought I'd start sophisticated. Just walking around the house and grounds with my mouth open.

Or even just a million. I can probably raise the rest.

The bathroom has a sort of Arabian-Nights-Discotheque theme going, doesn't it?

I don't know, I don't think it'd be my 1.25m spend.

(thinking also of the hoovering and dusting)

StealthPolarBear · 16/03/2019 22:29

I drove through the village earlier today. Its lovely.

StealthPolarBear · 16/03/2019 22:30

Not sure you'd be good friends with the neighbours mind :)

£1.25m for a semi?! I wouldn't want to hear the neighbours for that price!

It is lovely though.

CassandraCross · 16/03/2019 22:32

This is my favourite bit of MN - the posting of "if only I had the money" properties.

I've got about 25p in my penny jar if that would help Stealth? Do you need any 'downstairs' staff to help? I could polish the cutlery and dh could snip a few flowers here and thereGrin.

buckeejit · 16/03/2019 22:34

I love it!

StealthPolarBear · 16/03/2019 22:34

Consider yourselves hired. All 25p contributions very welcome

Lot of pictures of underdressed ladies on the landing, I think you may need a new designer.

StealthPolarBear · 16/03/2019 22:35

I hadn't seen it was a semi!

It's not too far from where I live, commutable distance to work.

Would you consider a house share @StealthPolarBear? (I can probably only contribute about £200,000 but I make a mean cheesecake!

StealthPolarBear · 16/03/2019 22:36

I'll have both. The staff can live in the other one. The smaller of the two.

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 16/03/2019 22:37

This is actually starting to seem achievable! Where abouts do you work? We might be able to share a commute, sell one car and put the funds raised to the house.

Only £799,999.75 to go by my calculations

Joebloggswazere · 16/03/2019 22:38

Oh gosh, let me just have a rummage down the back of my sofa.....ahem, I mean chaise longue obvs

StealthPolarBear · 16/03/2019 22:38

Are you donating or buying in??

OP posts:
Ariela · 16/03/2019 22:39

I wouldn't spend that on a semi! Rather a detached for the money.

Shnoggi · 16/03/2019 22:39

The Windows of this house look like faces. look again. Completely freaked me out😵

StealthPolarBear · 16/03/2019 22:39

But it's in the most beautiful village I've seen in a long timd

OP posts:
PristineCondition · 16/03/2019 22:40

That’s lovely!

My dp over my shoulder: you couldn’t buy it, all those fields around with your hayfeaver.
Aye that’s all thats holding me back not fact I’ve got £118 pounds in my bank Grin

pallisers · 16/03/2019 22:41

A semi! Also in the middle of the country so you are living right next to your nearest neighbours with noone around to diffuse the proximity. I'd hate that.

But I do love threads like this and wish people would post some alternatives ...

StealthPolarBear · 16/03/2019 22:42

£799,881.75 to go now

The gardens and the driveway seem to be communal, so many ways that can go horribly wrong even with a nice neighbour.
