I can make good use of it

Skye's bloody metropolitan these days, the amount of Outlander tourists on it looking for Jamie Fraser.

chemenger · 16/03/2019 23:01

I already have a tent, so your DH will be fine.

StealthPolarBear · 16/03/2019 23:01

Down to a nice round £749,830 plus the tent and a large sack of dog food

Mummyoflittledragon · 16/03/2019 23:01

Found £1.50 in my coat pocket, any good?

MeowthThatsRight · 16/03/2019 23:01

browneyes when you’re done with your nightgown could I borrow it to waft in down the staircase while a policeman informs me of my husbands untimely death?

OddCat · 16/03/2019 23:01

I can chip in £350,000 which would leave me homeless, so can I bags the smallest bedroom and maybe offer to mow the lawn and do the washing up for my keep ?

kingfisherblue33 · 16/03/2019 23:02

So they have cut the stately home in two...

not great marketing. Only pics of two of 7 bedrooms, no room dimensions...

great gardens, tho! Abd a fucking bargain price.

StealthPolarBear · 16/03/2019 23:02

Ooh no need for a tent. Upgrade the dog food.

I'm just loving the 'Servants Stairwell' in the description, I know my place I does.

I'm due a Lottery win this week, the lady in the shop promised me it was my turn (never mind that she says that every week), we could do it Stealth!

In the meantime I'll raid dh's car parking change from the car to up my contributionGrin.

Cherrysoup · 16/03/2019 23:03

@justforthisnow rude bird! I like the pine, weirdly. And virtually opposite is the Wye and a kayak hire. There’s a handy pub on that route.

If I sell everything, I have about £600k to spend.

PickAChew · 16/03/2019 23:04

Well I did have, but I've just seen this lovely house, handy for dh's work, that I quite fancy.

Banterlope · 16/03/2019 23:06

Just checked, I have £1.82 CREDIT in my PayPal account. It's all yours OP, but I needed holiday timeshare from early January to late December, inc. dogs chickens psychokids and

Poshjock · 16/03/2019 23:06

I'll stick to a Scottish Castle. Any spare pounds to come this way?

PickAChew · 16/03/2019 23:07

Great Ayton is lovely and I know a few people who live there.

It floods, mind

StealthPolarBear · 16/03/2019 23:08

Wow we could probably afford that if we sold everything. I'd love to see ds's face when I tell him we're living in a castle.
Dd's too, except she's already been sold to help pay for it.

@BrownEyesBlackEyeliner shame about the neighbouring house, the sea and surrounding land are VERY tempting!

Icantreachthepretzels · 16/03/2019 23:10

For something completely different and on a different landmass I have my eye on this following my imminent lottery win

look at those views!

It would have to be a big win though. It's POA but I reckon it's about 5 mil.
(Don't watch the video - it's the lady who built the house talking about how great it is - but if you click on the 'explore 3 d space' you can walk right through the house!)

Usually I don't like modern architecture and prefer something grade 2 listed with inglenook fireplaces and original beams - but a giant glass wall looking out over the sea? I'm sold.
But for when I get bored of Island living - and want original beams again, there is always this to move back to. Catherine Howard (Queen no 5 for fat Henry beheaded) grew up there.

QueenEhlana · 16/03/2019 23:10

Ooh, lurvely!

I wonder if it's actually cut up into 3, and not just 2? The bit on the right-hand side that is set back might be separate again.

justforthisnow · 16/03/2019 23:13

@cherrysoup I take umbrage at rude bird description! Honest and forthright, me.
I'll also take a bedroom in whichever palace is eventually bought.

PickAChew · 16/03/2019 23:14

Yorkshire vet is Boroughbridge and prices are quite eye watering around there.

I do like a kitchen that is more wine rack than cupboards:

Cherrysoup · 16/03/2019 23:15

Ladies, I’ve found the one! Enough land for a couple of horses, stables, romantic looking château, unfortunately quite far from Great Ayton, but affordable!
search.savills.com/property-detail/gblaixlai180389

Fortunately, je speak très fluently le franglais, so I’m sorted!

DishingOutDone · 16/03/2019 23:16

You know its really odd, I think I am finally past it, apart from the one in Guernsey they all look cold and lonely!

Icantreachthepretzels · 16/03/2019 23:17

That wine rack is so big it sets off my trypophobia

DishingOutDone · 16/03/2019 23:18

I should explain, one DD about to go to uni in September, leaves me and younger DD, she won't be far behind then I imagine myself shivering in one room thinking why did I buy this. I want a ground floor flat I think!

PickAChew · 16/03/2019 23:19

I would insist on a roof survey, first, mind, cherry because that one is marginally more complicated than a 1930s semi detached chalet bungalow and they are quite expensive enough to fix when they leak like a sieve.
