Which brand(s) are you on just now ? I'm off gin until April but I shall begin by finishing ( if that's possible) the bottle of Beefeater I opened last September. I usually go for slightly higher quality offerings such as Tanqueray and Morrison's Best and I'm happy with Schweppes tonic. Fever Tree doesn't really do it for me. I've yet to try Aldi gin but there's a new Aldi being built nearby so there may be an opportunity there.

Aldi gin is excellent, enjoying my weekly Saturday one right now as it happens. Their diet tonic is awful though.

WishUponAStar88 · 09/03/2019 19:49

Ooh I love a gin. Sibling strawberry and black pepper is my favourite flavoured one but the bottle is so small Sad. For ‘normal’ gins I’m quite partial to a Hendricks or Bombay Sapphire

Missmarplesknitting · 09/03/2019 19:51

Plymouth at the mo. On offer. It's very nice.

My usual buy is Sainsbury's own taste the difference. It's excellent. Better than the Aldo and Lidl ones and similar price.

Lakes Distillery, I like the original, aloe and liqueurs (damson, elderflower or rhubarb and rosehip)

I also like Whitley Neill Palma Violet, but only that one, all those boe and zmagirium liqueur versions are shit

FrangipaniBlue · 09/03/2019 19:53

Sloe not aloe lol

Gotthetshirt23 · 09/03/2019 19:54

Brockmans is fabulous
Also like the rangpur lime
There's a long list .......

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 09/03/2019 19:55

Ophir gin is very nice.

hewhinessoshewines · 09/03/2019 19:56

I just like gin

TheFaerieQueene · 09/03/2019 19:56

My current gin of choice. With a lovely orange tonic water.

Sorry OP, you lost me at I'm happy with Schweppes tonic Shock

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 09/03/2019 20:00

I adore Copper House, made by a Suffolk brewery called Adnams. CH is amazing and they do a raspberry version of it too.

They sell it in Tesco (we don't live in or near Suffolk!) so I can easily replace when I run out. It's cheapish too, 27 usually but they often sell it on offer for 24 and once we got an excellent deal on amazon and ended up with 8 bottles at one time

It's lush. We use bog standard tesco lemon or lime flavoured tonic and it hits the spot every time.
You can also buy premixed cans of it if you want to try without buying the whole bottle.

Girlinstripedpyjamas · 09/03/2019 20:02

I tried The Botanist (I think) the other week with elderflower tonic and mint leaves and my goodness it was ace. Still very much a g and t. No sweetness but delicious. I’m on a can (left from a train journey) of Lidl pink gin. Is ok for now until wine is opened Grin

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 09/03/2019 20:03

Beefeater will, I suspect, always be my number one but of the others currently in my gin-drobe I think my favourite is Thomas Dakin.

DeadBod · 09/03/2019 20:03

I'm with Greeboks Opihr is a favourite of mine although Rhubarb and Ginger is a close second.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 09/03/2019 20:04

And Lidl does a premium 'light' tonic which is really rather good, FYI

glenthebattleostrich · 09/03/2019 20:07

The tanqueray orange also works with lemon tonic. I'm currently enjoying a glass!

Love lakes damson. I also like hortus (Lidl gin) and aldi.

Adore lemon drizzle sipsmith and ginger.

IndigoSpritz · 09/03/2019 20:07

Never mind, Kate. I also like orange juice with gin, if that helps.

My current bottle is Ophir with diet lemonade and a slice of orange. So refreshing!

MaidenMotherCrone · 09/03/2019 20:10

Tanqueray & No 10.

Love No 3 too.

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 09/03/2019 20:15

I have an extensive selection but my current favourite is Forest Gin. Lovely flavour AND a gorgeous bottle.

I'm on Jinzu (it's Japanese flavour! No idea what but it's very nice). Latest has actually been this - www.thatboutiqueygincompany.com/gins/spit-roasted-pineapple-gin

It's trying a bit hard, but rather nice.

delilahbucket · 09/03/2019 20:20

Currently got on the go Whitley Neil Quince gin but I'm not a massive fan. It was subbed when I ordered the rhubarb and ginger, which is one of my favourites. Also like Malfy blood orange and an Aldi spiced gin I got for Christmas. Aldi have some really good offerings. Also have a bottle of Gin Mare on the go which is really nice. There are so many nice gins I've had I've lost track. I do like fever tree tonics, but the Aldi one is also good for a basic. Can't stand Schweppes.

AgentPeggyCarter · 09/03/2019 20:25

I’m currently drinking a very large ginger gin and tonic. Today DD had nit treatment and DS is potty training, I feel I’ve earned it.

Figmentofimagination · 09/03/2019 20:41

I have the ALDI passion fruit gin liqueur. It's nice but I'm naughty and drink it with lemonade as it's very strong.
I love Bombay Sapphire. It's my favourite.
Also love Whitley Neill Raspberry and Whitley Neill Blood Orange.

IndigoSpritz · 09/03/2019 20:44

Is there much to be gained by paying the extra for brands like Sipsmith or Hendricks ? I'm happy to pay more to avoid under-strength stuff like Gordon's but I am cautious about extending that logic further and ending up with an expensive bottle of something I don't like.
