Just thinking about the little things that cheer me up and that make me smile.

Radox bubble bath
Hayu membership because I love my reality TV
Exercise class which is the highlight of my week.

OP posts:
Babymamamama · 08/03/2019 16:59

Keratin treatment for hair
Cinema afternoon with a friend and a good coffee
Pilates or yoga as long as not too strenuous
Eyebrows threaded as needed

OnlyYellowRoses · 08/03/2019 17:04

Hair done every 6-8 weeks
Nice smelly candle whenever I pop into my favourite hippy shop
Chinese takeaway on pay day once a month 😊

Didiusfalco · 08/03/2019 17:36

I’m finding this thread really soothing. For me:
Plants for my hanging basket/pots
Lush bath stuff
RSPB bird food for my feeder which seems to attract more birds than the usual wilkos stuff
Eating an ice lolly in a hot bath whilst reading is bliss

EmpressJewel · 08/03/2019 17:38

Lush bath bombs
Scented candle (TK maxx)
A beauty treat like a lipstick or hair accessory
Chocolate pudding or other yummy pud.

TeaforTwoBiscuitOrThree · 08/03/2019 18:16

We live in Holland, so fresh flowers are cheap and in huge supply. I like picking flowers from our garden and bring them indoors my other "luxury" would be a good book I would find in thrift shop and read it in bed.

MollyYouInDangerGirl · 08/03/2019 18:23

I'm so glad I read this thread. I've been a bit miserable lately partly because I've had to tighten my budget and never seem to do anything fun, but this thread has reminded me that there are still so many simple pleasures!

Now I've had a think my favourite little treats recently have been:

Reading a book in a bubble bath
Eating breakfast/lunch in the garden when its sunny
Lighting nice smelling candles
Dragging my duvet downstairs onto the sofa like a kid and watching Netflix
Eating my favourite dinner from when I was a kid even though it's not remotely healthy!

Jemimapuddleduk · 08/03/2019 18:40

Flowers with my weekly shop- I’m loving carnations and daffodils at the moment.
A scented candle.
Lush bath bomb a couple of times a week with my bath disco lights (actually my ds’s lights!)
A coffee at the gym once a week.
Putting aside 30 minutes a day to read my kindle.
Home made ice cream tubs from our local farm.

Running
Positive podcasts
Morning coffee
Decedent salads on a weekday
Weekly cleaner
Morning me time before anyone else is awake

Thisnamechanger · 08/03/2019 18:59

Neom Organics everything!

katseyes7 · 08/03/2019 19:04

Not exactly 'luxuries' but l recently bought some very nice extras for my house rabbits. Lovely flower and leaf mixes (dried) and treats. One's 'senior support' (she's eight next month) and the other's 'respiratory relief' because he has snuffles. And a lovely treat cube which is a bit like a dice, but is stuffed with nice hay and dried stuff. They've gone absolutely mad for that.

InsomniaTho · 08/03/2019 19:06

Lush Sleepy shower gel and Sleepy moisturiser, Dark Angel face scrub, and FUN for the DC - top it up as needed.

Ridiculous bedding from Primark or ASDA - rainbow cats on rockets was my last one Grin Usually do that every other month.

This week I bought all the Jurassic Park/World films on Prime and DC have watched one every night this week.

Books - I buy us all books once a month

LittleMachine · 08/03/2019 19:11

I had so many years where I couldn’t treat myself because I had no money to, not even little treats, so every treat feels like such a luxury now. Mine are:
Subscribing to nearly all the TV streaming services.
Having an ice cold gin in a really hot shower.
A weekly cloth face mask. I just buy them from Home Bargains but I really enjoy them.
Buying a kindle book whenever I want.

LifeOfLimes · 08/03/2019 19:12

Chocolate dipped strawberrys.
Lush bubble bar.
Costello mini cheese selection.
New book.
Whiskey.
The biggest plant I can find in Ikea Grin

JaneEyre07 · 08/03/2019 19:16

Really nice scented candles - I've got an Osprey one lit tonight.

Flowers for the house - I've got 4 huge stems of pink oriental lilies in the living room that smell amazing, and tulips in the kitchen.

And I'm forever treating my dogs Blush

YouFellAsleep · 08/03/2019 19:16

Spring flowers, nothing cheers me up more than a bunch of daffodils or the smell of an hyacinth flower. Always treat myself Thanks

MondeoFan · 08/03/2019 19:19

Pub dinner out once a week or fortnight

Expensive scented candle once a month

Fresh flowers every week

Nice handwash for bathroom

Jb291 · 08/03/2019 19:20

Nice skincare
Amazon Prime / Netflix / NowTV streaming services.
Galaxy chocolate
Occasional Chinese / Indian takeaway
Lone trips to the cinema with popcorn and a slushy.
All little things but things that make all the difference because life can be very hard and very lonely at times.

TeaAddict235 · 08/03/2019 19:20

Nice new shampoo and conditioner (some of you might know me from the beauty hoarders thread Grin)

Galaxy chocolate/ minstrels

Bubble bath with podcasts (Maya Angelou dramatisations/ Thinking allowed/ church ones)

Sainsbury's fizzy fangs (secretly)

puppy23 · 08/03/2019 19:22

I love a new blanket to wrap myself up in - though my dog usually ends up pinching them!
Haagan Daaz - only when on offer but you really can't beat it
I've started trying to keep my nails painted regularly and that always makes me feel that bit nicer about myself

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/03/2019 19:29

Yes to sheet masks. I particularly enjoy the bubbling Nip and Fab one.

Teaandcrisps · 08/03/2019 19:33

What a brilliant and thought provoking post. Didn't realise how many things I love doing:

Tea and crisps after lunch (obvs)
Good Homes subscription
Fantastic plonk and fish dinner at the weekend
Regular overnight hotel trips where I watch crap TV, do my hair, eyebrows and nails
Twinkly lights everywhere

Wittow · 08/03/2019 19:33

This is the sort of thread I love Smile

Neal's yard women's balance essential oil
epsom salts baths
massage once a month
sparkling mineral water and posh cordial like elderflower
I'm another recent convert to fresh flowers with the weekly shop, only cheapo from Aldi or Tesco but they really lift my mood and the hallway looks nicer with them!

Stuff like this makes life worthwhile doesn't it? Use the gorgeous candles, don't save stuff 'for best', life is short...

TheFairyCaravan · 08/03/2019 19:39

I have acupuncture regularly. It helps my chronic pain and my migraines but I, also, get to lie down listening to relaxing music, wrapped in warm, lavender scented blanket for an hour in the middle of the day. I've fallen asleep on more than one occasion 😂

Get my nails done
Buy squishy yarn

topcat2014 · 08/03/2019 19:44

Flowers from Aldi every
Week
