What's happened to Rachel Riley?

What's going on with Rachel Riley?
She has done a complete character change and seems to be acting very bizarre attacking Jeremy Corbyn, Owen Jones over Twitter constantly and seems to get stranger by the day.

OP posts:
LibbyLily · 04/03/2019 16:17

you witness the invitations asking her to meet in London? If she was my daughter I would have reported those requests

Tracy Ann Oberman (not Rachel Riley) invited her to meet her for tea along with another Young Labour activist who had received vile antisemitic abuse for being Jewish. This was in the hope that this activist would be able to educate Rosie about antisemitism in the Labour Party.

There’s nothing stalkerish about that whatsoever. It wasn’t done over DM - it was completely public.

Phantology · 04/03/2019 16:17

That mural was particularly hideous

LibbyLily · 04/03/2019 16:18

And no RoisinD, it was Owen Jones who set the dangerous precedent by claiming that it’s ok to egg people if you don’t like their political opinions.

Rachel Riley was simply pointing out the hypocrisy of that.

BorisBogtrotter · 04/03/2019 16:23

"There’s photos of him with a big wreath next to their graves. "

yet none of the people buried there actually took part in terror activities?

"Bloody hell if you can’t recognise the anti-semitism in that mural.."

Funnily enough, when the people depicted are historical figures only two of whom are Jewish, one of whom was an anti semite, , and it was part of the occupy movement, people might not find it when looking. You might

Especially not on a FB photo.

Its funny that you can't use the term zionist accurately either.

I don't like Corbyn, think he's useless, but all of the very tenuous things he's linked its not accurate to then call him antisemitic.

The point I made about Jews backing him, is that he has recieved support, why is this not recorded.

Nor are antisemtic remarks or aliances with antisemtic groups from the other side of the political fence highlighted in such a way.

Where was the outcry from the Board of Deputies back with the abuse handed out to Miliband? This is my problem, it appears to have become much more of an issue when there is a pro palestine UK Leader of the opposition.

Justanotherlurker · 04/03/2019 16:24

Exactly, this is why everyone is laughing at the defence force.

QuietContraryMary · 04/03/2019 16:25

"She along with some actress from Eastenders ( cannot remember her name) have allegedly been stalking 16 year old Rosie Lelliott, who happens to be a brilliant advocate for mental health. "

I had no idea who this person is but I looked at her Twitter and she seems like a fairly identikit Momentum/Corbyn activist. twitter.com/thelittleleftie

Not sure the relevance of the mental health aspect.

I checked the Twitter history and from what I can see the timeline is this:

twitter.com/thelittleleftie/status/1073877814867308545

twitter.com/RachelRileyRR/status/1074460593476767745

You can see all of Riley's replies here: twitter.com/RachelRileyRR/status/1074460593476767745

there is no stalking.

The problem is that for some people Corbynism appears to be a sort of religion where their leader is not to be questioned.

QuietContraryMary · 04/03/2019 16:26

Sorry missing one link there twitter.com/thelittleleftie/status/1074423857099010049

Did you miss the big fat Illuminati New World Order symbol over their heads? Are you going to claim that’s nothing to do with Jewish conspiracy theories? Sodding hell, it’s like teaching a child the basics.

RoisinD · 04/03/2019 16:33

QuiteContraryMary: 'from what I can see the timeline is' from what you can see. What a shame you cannot see the deleted tweets.

Salah Khalaf, linked by Israel to Black September and the Munich killings?

You know, you need to check with Corbyn on this, because his defence is different to yours. It’s like it’s being made up Hmm

noblegiraffe · 04/03/2019 16:38

you and your like don't respond in the same way when others imply new world order stuff against people like Soros and other Jews, but that's because it comes from your own doing it.

Er, who the fuck are ‘me and my like’?

RoisinD · 04/03/2019 16:40

LibbyLily: the tweets now left only give a partial picture. DM's were sent.
Why would any adult think it was ok to invite a 16 year old girl with health issues to London for tea and to 'talk'? I would certainly be asking questions if it was my daughter.

noblegiraffe · 04/03/2019 16:41

Where are the Illuminati supposed to be Jewish? Christian sect no?

I think you’ll find more conspiracy theorists think that Jews are secretly controlling the world than Christians. Or do you really know nothing?

BorisBogtrotter · 04/03/2019 16:41

The biggest problem with all of this is that the same standards are not applied to both sides.

When you do that then we can talk.

When Boris gets hauled over hot coals for racist bullshit, or May does, or even Javid calls for Muslim communities to take responsibility for combating terror groups, that gets passed over, now if he'd asked for Jewish communities to take responsibility for dealing with the actions of Jewish sects then that would be antisemitic but its finnne the other way round.

When you apply the standards the same to all groups then its fine.

I abhor it all but the evidence that Corbyn is antisemitic is utterly flawed and very weak.

BorisBogtrotter · 04/03/2019 16:43

"I think you’ll find more conspiracy theorists think that Jews are secretly controlling the world than Christians."

Oh right, so we are on to this link of tenuousness now?

A symbol used to depict an organisation linked to Christianity and the Mason's is now linked to the Jews because you say it is?

"Salah Khalaf, linked by Israel to Black September and the Munich killings?"

Linked, didn't commit them, no trial ever took place, he denied it himself. But Israel linked him.

See what I mean about tenuous, your claim that it was terrorist graves, has become someone who was linked to a terror attack, not ever proven to have taken part.

noblegiraffe · 04/03/2019 16:45

The biggest problem I see here is people defending Corbyn by defending that fucking mural.

Corbyn himself said he messed up and it was clearly antisemitic. But no, to try and absolve him of all blame, you’ve got people trying to argue that antisemitism isn’t antisemitism.

Katterinaballerina · 04/03/2019 16:45

‘you and your like’

Are we a club? Should we have badges?

Everanewbie · 04/03/2019 16:45

the evidence that Corbyn is antisemitic is utterly flawed and very weak

Ok. How about the grassroots labour movement including Momentum activists?

My gripe isn't so much about what JC has or hasn't said (although I think there are some questions to be asked) but how his lack of decisive action essentially tolerates antisemitic and sexist abuse in order to keep his core support onside.

hackmum · 04/03/2019 16:47

You either decry all political acts such as the egg incident or you don't

Oh, I dunno. Surely it's at least possible to make a case that it's OK to throw eggs at fascists, but not at other politicians, however much you dislike them?

QuietContraryMary · 04/03/2019 16:47

"QuiteContraryMary: 'from what I can see the timeline is' from what you can see. What a shame you cannot see the deleted tweets."

Well yes you can.

If you search for @rachelrileyrr @thelittleleftie then you'll find all interactions and their replies.

If the OP is deleted the replies won't be, so there is still evidence for the original post.

www.thejc.com/news/uk-news/rachel-riley-instructs-mark-lewis-to-pursue-libel-claim-against-corbyn-staffer-laura-murray-1.480971

Great new - Rachel Riley is suing the Labour staffer who wrote that outrageous, false, libellous tweet.

So be careful what you say RoisinD or it might come back to bite you.

LibbyLily · 04/03/2019 16:52

Oh, I dunno. Surely it's at least possible to make a case that it's OK to throw eggs at fascists, but not at other politicians, however much you dislike them?

No, it's not ok, because then you are appointing yourself as the arbiter of which political opinions do and don't deserve vigilante justice.

Other people might have different ideas.

Thymeout · 04/03/2019 16:52

When Corbyn became leader, the previous General Secretary was manoeuvred out of his job. Corbyn appointed Jennie Formby to succeed him. She'd had a relationship with Len McCluskey, head of Unite Union, and they had a child together. He's v close to Corbyn. McCluskey doesn't believe there's a problem with A-S in the Party. He calls complaints 'mood music'. It's all a smear etc etc. Jennie Formby is in charge of investigating complaints and deciding what should be done about them.

There have been many complaints by Labour MPs about the way she's (not) doing it. Too slow, lacking transparency, a slap on the wrist instead of expulsion. They think she's McCluskey's stooge and is dragging her feet.

John Mann reported death threats to him and his family and didn't even get an acknowledgement. Members of Luciana Berger's local party, including the Chair, were reported 6 months ago and nothing was done. They proposed a vote of No Confidence, the first stage in getting rid of her. John McDonnell said it had nothing to do with A-S and LB should meet with her Party and convince them of her loyalty to the Party and its Leader. LB resigned from the Party and joined TIG.

I used to think Corbyn was a nice man but...incompetent, too much baggage to be electable, no experience of running anything except a protest group.

Now I don't think he's a nice man. At all.

noblegiraffe · 04/03/2019 16:52

A symbol used to depict an organisation linked to Christianity and the Mason's is now linked to the Jews because you say it is?

Er no, because it actually is. Have you never heard of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion?

Here’s a starter from Wikipedia:

The Protocols of the Elders of Zion
The Protocols of the Elders of Zion is an antisemitic canard, originally published in Russian in 1903, alleging a Judeo-Masonic conspiracy to achieve world domination. The text purports to be the minutes of the secret meetings of a cabal of Jewish masterminds, which has co-opted Freemasonry and is plotting to rule the world on behalf of all Jews because they believe themselves to be the chosen people of God.[41] The Protocols incorporate many of the core conspiracist themes outlined in the Robison and Barruel attacks on the Freemasons, and overlay them with antisemitic allegations about anti-Tsarist movements in Russia. The Protocols reflect themes similar to more general critiques of Enlightenment liberalism by conservative aristocrats who support monarchies and state religions. The interpretation intended by the publication of The Protocols is that if one peels away the layers of the Masonic conspiracy, past the Illuminati, one finds the rotten Jewish core.[15]
