For me...

Finding out my newfound major celebrity crush is 35 years older than me... I thought he was only 40 odd. I'm extremely deflated.

And thinking I'd found a double youlked Haribo to win a holiday prize but I was pranked.

Lastly, my DS now saying Daddy and putting arms out to daddy. Until now, he's done my head in by constantly only ever wanting me. I feel quite upset now he's all for DH.

Cats. The musical

LoisWilkerson1 · 25/02/2019 23:41

Just about every film I've seen or new song on the radio has been shiteAngry Written by committee, corporate bollochs.

LoisWilkerson1 · 25/02/2019 23:41

Bollocks even.

KitTheCat · 25/02/2019 23:44

Life in general
Disneyland Paris
Paris
The phantom of the opera musical...fell asleep 😴

DontCallMeCharlotte · 26/02/2019 00:16

Cold radiators (when you've just come in from the cold).

CommeDesPoissons · 26/02/2019 01:36

Running a whole bath from the cold tap.

Really, really fancying a pizza, going down to Waitrose to buy one and then burning it.

Also slightly ashamed to have been unimpressed by Paris and Machu Picchu.

Ploppymoodypants · 26/02/2019 01:56

Yep Disney Land Paris (anyone planning a trip, save for an extra year and go to Florida, it’s well worth the extra).
Zumba - I have been twice now and am still a flat tummy and toned arms evade me
Breastfeeding- was promised that the baby weight would just drop off. Nope
The Greatest Showman - it’s only okay

sashh · 26/02/2019 05:33

which reminds me - when I was at school we were promised robots would be doing all the housework and boring shit by now - wtf happened to THAT promise? Computer/techy people - you need to pull your fingers out!

Too many men in tech and too many men building houses. Not enough men cleaning toilets.

For years there has been useful tech like self cleaning toilets and single locking your house (like your car, one click and all windows and doors lock) but do you see these in new build houses? No.

StrongerThanIThought76 · 26/02/2019 06:12

Coffee. I keep trying it in many many forms but I just can't get my head around it. Feel like I'm failing as an adult because I don't like it.

The statue of liberty - teeny!

Couldn't afford to see La La Land at the cinema but friends raved about it so got comfy to watch it on tv this weekend. Meh

Ditto the ending of Me Before You.

Never ever fancied LOTR or GOT after seeing trailers.

millythepink · 26/02/2019 08:41

@ Graphista ne'er you fret. He learned a valuable lesson and now goes ski ing alone Grin

lololove · 26/02/2019 08:54

Lala land - I'm glad it's not us. We tried to watch it on Netflix and couldn't get more than 45 mins in. So bored!

Elf the musical - it was over Christmas a couple of years ago? I'd been so looking forward to it since I found out it'd be on in early December from the all hallowed double TV books for the Xmas period. It finally arrives and.... It was awful! So bored!

Plays that don't tour nearer me - I want to see things by the mischief theatre and nativity the musical but I'm not in a position as a carer to go away overnight.... Please come nearer! Please? Pretty please?

Healthy eating - what a swiz. The dark side tastes so much better.

Colin Firths wife - what a silly silly woman for treating him as she has (yes I know it was a break but still!) I'll make it up to him Wink

RictusGin · 26/02/2019 10:34

Last night's finale to season 3 of True Detective. Flat, and the whole series was unnecessarily complicated with all the flashbacks to different periods.

I forgot the crushing disappointment that was the ending of The Sopranos. I genuinely thought my tv had broken.

TheSecondMrsAshwell · 26/02/2019 13:30

The Rocky Horror Show.

My best mate put it on because I had to see it, it's the doggy's whatsits. It bored the TITS off me.

She dozed off and I turned the video off and wound the tape back saying that I'd watched it through to the end. I hadn' though.

TheSecondMrsAshwell · 26/02/2019 13:45

Yes, I agree, lovely, but not quite what I was expecting (not sure what I was expecting).

We went to nearby(ish) Vaux le Vicomte, which I thought was much nicer (more tasteful) and said in the taxi back to the station that I preferred it to Versailles.* The taxi driver was delighted.

*In reasonable French. I have gone downhill somewhat since..... most recently telling a group of French tourists that something was a 10 midnghts walk away. Sigh.

BartonHollow · 26/02/2019 13:52

Disneyland Paris couldn't agree more

There are lower tier Theme Parks here so not even Alton Towers or Thorpe Park level

That are better than or on a par with Paris

I believe Florida is worth it though

poundoflard · 26/02/2019 14:11

A friend, after taking their kids to EuroDisney, said I thoroughly recommend NOT going.

I went to Disney in California but it was after 9/11 and deserted. Best time to go as all the Americans were in doors scared to go out.

@TheSecondMrsAshwell
ten midnight walks away seems a VEEERY long walk to me Grin

Gin. All of it, smells like perfume and totally undrinkable.

Cornwall. Was expecting sunny skies, quaintness, charm..... it was wet windswept, full of tourists and traffic and utterly miserable. Why folks spent 2 weeks holidaying there is beyond me, suckers for punishment perhaps. Not my cuppa thats for sure

flowersaremyfave · 26/02/2019 14:22

Lenor unstoppables- don't get the hype!

Power on nexflix- to much sex, Angela and ghost has turned into a wet flannel.

Baths- had a bath last night for the first time in over 2 years. Got my Xmas smellies out..candle.. my new bath cushion. Was terribly disappointed because all I did was top it up every 2 mins because I was freezing, so wasn't a very relaxing experience.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 26/02/2019 14:43

Whirlpool baths. What they don't tell you is that if they go unused, huge chunks of fungus will come out and keep coming out for weeks. When you finally get them sorted, the water temperature drops 10 degrees, and of your flab gets caught in the intake, you'll need a skin graft.

SummerIsNearer · 26/02/2019 14:52

Ohhh forgot to add again - Lush.

Lush most things (a few of their face stuff is good), but the bath bombs are hideous and leave a big mess in the bath.

captainpantbeard · 26/02/2019 14:55

I can't believe someone said cunnilingus! You need a different person doing it, I think - you can't have given it a proper try.

It's about the only thing these days that I'm NOT disappointed by.

Gunpowdertea · 26/02/2019 18:04

Mint chocolate. They should not mix.
Cheap socks that lose their elastic and insist on wriggling down around your foot.
Sunday train services.

LucilleBluth · 26/02/2019 18:58

I hate myself for it but I absolutely love La La Land. It's a slow burner, Emma Stone is fantastic and it makes me cry at the end. I usually hate musicals and I never cry.

Expensive skin care is usually a disappointment, not make up though, expensive all the way.

Weekends away. Never enough time to chill and explore.

Aldi and Lidl. Just a bit shit.

WhyDidIEatThat · 26/02/2019 19:04

My new running shoes, I don’t know where I’ve gone wrong but they feel horrible - stupidly overly cushioned for a neutral shoe and with a fat, inflexible sole. I feel really cross whenever I think about them!

And the DNAfit app, it’s completely useless.
