For me...

Finding out my newfound major celebrity crush is 35 years older than me... I thought he was only 40 odd. I'm extremely deflated.

And thinking I'd found a double youlked Haribo to win a holiday prize but I was pranked.

Lastly, my DS now saying Daddy and putting arms out to daddy. Until now, he's done my head in by constantly only ever wanting me. I feel quite upset now he's all for DH.

ROMA - a masterpiece they said

It is literally images of dog turds in the rain

England not making the cup final last year, such hopes were held in that waistcoat

Matilda The Musical - only ok, proper letdown

The cancellation of the TV series Travelers

rockingthelook · 24/02/2019 17:05

Taco Bell- read about it for years, crap in a wrap!
La La Land- enjoyed in at the cinema, couldn't watch it last night
Cupcakes- agree, can't stand all the icing
Laduree macarons- not really all that
Bella Italia- make better myself
Morecambe- went there and it was shut :)

lucysmam · 24/02/2019 17:11

rockingthelook, definitely Taco Belle! Dd1 wanted to try it so off we went for her birthday. Was the most uninspiring taco wrap thing ever & tasted of nothing much. I won't be going back, dd said she'd go if her friends were ever going.

poundoflard · 24/02/2019 17:15

San Francisco.

Awfully hilly, fucking freezing chilly, filthy and full of very weird and rude people

resipsa · 24/02/2019 17:18

Marrakech - like Disney does Arabia. Awful. Soulless.

IncrediblySadToo · 24/02/2019 17:26

Leaning tower of Pisa

I was very young, a friend and I drive around for ages looking for it (pre Internet/sat nav) just assuming we’d be able to see it from a distance... 🤣😂. It was about 1/5th of the size we were expecting!

...fortunately I’ve never again been so disappointed by the size of anything so much since 😉

Overseasmom100 · 24/02/2019 17:33

Yes agree Matilda the Musical...took DS and we were bored 1st half. Picked up in 2nd. We always rate out of 10 and gave it a 6/7. Very over rated once you've seen School of Rock, Lion King etc

FlibbertyGiblets · 24/02/2019 17:38

Philadelphia with cadbury. A little tub of [disappointed face]. That was a very sad day.

wanderings · 24/02/2019 18:46

The USA - I was expecting it to be completely different from England, and I thought it wasn't that different at all. New York was basically London with taller buildings, and straighter roads. I liked the American people though. (I have visited other parts of the USA as well, I know NY is only a small part of it!)

emilybrontescorsett · 24/02/2019 18:52

I agree about hotel chocolate. Very overpriced.
John Lewis in Leeds. The cafe was nice but where were the dresses? Nothing at all to try on.

Gushpanka · 24/02/2019 18:58

Book of Mormon

I like south park and edgy humour but this was just not funny

Lipsticktraces · 24/02/2019 18:59

My marriage!

Gushpanka · 24/02/2019 18:59

And the little mermaid in Copenhagen. Totally not worth going

Lipsticktraces · 24/02/2019 19:00

@Gushpanka You didn’t find the BOM funny!

It’s one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen (three times)

ASqueakingInTheShrubbery · 24/02/2019 19:03

Tunis cake. I remember it being delicious when my Grandma had it every Christmas, so I bought one. It was dry, tasteless and horrible.

My celebrity crush is way too old, lives in America, and very happily married to a woman who is like a better version of me in many ways. All of those things are a little disappointing, but they do keep the daydreams in check.

Medicaltextbook · 24/02/2019 19:05

Agree with La La Land. I didn’t think the Greatest Showman lived up to the hype either, not dreadful but not wonderful either.

MitziK · 24/02/2019 19:05

The box on my pay slip that says 'Net Pay'. Without fail.

That teenage girls have crushes on men who are my demographic. Seriously? Have your pretty little boys, leave the ones I could conceivably shag in my dreams alone.

I completely disagree about Devon. But I see it as a living, working place, remote, infinitely variable in weather, subject to poverty and the same problems as everywhere else/decimated by second home owners and Air BnBs, rather than as a picturesque holiday destination. If all I saw was the pretty village but no shop or bus service - or a holiday camp - I'd hate it.

NeutralJanet · 24/02/2019 19:06

Morecambe- went there and it was shut

My experience too Grin. It was grim, and that's coming from someone who has voluntarily holidayed in Blackpool more than once.

VittysCardigan · 24/02/2019 19:07

Another Hotel Chocolat one here. Someone bought me a bottle of their gin, it tasted like cheap knock off vodka

Yabbers · 24/02/2019 19:13

Scottish dance class and choir at school. I was in P3 and they were only for P4 and up. I got to P4 and they changed it to P5 and up. Got to P5 and they bloody stopped it.

And Vancouver.

TakenForSlanted · 24/02/2019 19:15

Naice hotels as a guest. I used to work at one during my student days and went on to regularly stay at them in my career later on. It's been years and I still can't help but feel a bit underwhelmed at seeing the other side of things.

Lost. One of my friends insisted it was a great show. He's normally spot on in his tastes.

Hotshot super expert colleagues. Not always, some really manage to impress me. A lot of them are mostly gabby, though, and I suspect have earned their rep more via their talking than their doing capabilities.

Samind · 24/02/2019 19:16

When you think there's biscuits left in cupboard and there's not. You've made a cuppa psyched up about the thought of a goody to accompany it. You reach into box with excitement to be met with crumbs. CRUMBS!!!!!! Brew

user1488622199 · 24/02/2019 19:19

@summerisnearer could you be confusing Ralph Fiennes (age 56) with explorer Ranulph Fiennes who is 74?? I could well be wrong but I’m guessing you might be a bit older than 21...

BadlyAgedMemes · 24/02/2019 19:21

@magimedi - Oh, me too! I felt conned by the lack of blue gin! Grin I like it well enough, I guess, so at least I had normal gin to dull the disappointment.

slightlysnippy · 24/02/2019 19:21

@BartonHollow noooo has travellers been cancelled, now I'm am disappointed.
