Got a new store opening very close by, so please give me your recommendations! I'm usually a Lidl shopper.

Nappies
Wipes
Meat
Wine
Garlic cheese pizza bread 😂

Aprilshowersarecomingsoon · 20/02/2019 15:51

Salmon and lemon fishcakes.
Smoked salmon packs.
Veg +fruit.
Not the coffee though!!

YouBoggleMyMind · 20/02/2019 15:52

Greek yogurt too!

Toddlerteaplease · 20/02/2019 16:05

Their £6 scratch repair kit, saved me £350 on getting my car repaired!!

MrsDeanWinchester75 · 20/02/2019 16:08

The Norpak butter and their own shampoo and conditioner, I think it's called Lacura, it's made my hair softer than any expensive brand.

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 20/02/2019 16:11

I disagree about the coffee. At least the coffee beans for a bean to cup machine.

VioletCharlotte · 20/02/2019 16:23

I don't think there's much difference between Aldi and Lidl to be honest. In fact, I'm sure a lot of the products are identical, just different packaging! The Skyr yogurts are nice and the Monsieur Roth chocolate. Also some of the Lacura skincare stuff, and facial wipes. DC like their pizzas. I got some nice candles at Christmas.

Lidl's selection of ice cream is better, imo, and so are their fresh flowers and their bakery (our Aldi doesn't have a bakery)

Wendywoo1000 · 20/02/2019 16:24

Candles!

GreenDinosaur · 20/02/2019 16:49

The big sourdough pizzas are lovely. They have great pate and chocolate too.
Another vote for the nappies and wipes if you need them.

anniehm · 20/02/2019 16:54

Most stuff is fine but no instore bakery. Slightly cheaper than Lidl I find but it varies of course by what you purchase. I go to most the supermarkets over a week or two, all best for different reasons!

BlodwynBludd · 20/02/2019 16:54

Their biscuits. I can't stop eating them. They do rip offs of Fox's and they're lush. Also the baby stuff and I love their aisle of crap.

oldsewandsew · 20/02/2019 16:54

Their ready meal potatoes dauphinois are yummy!

needmorepizzainmydiet · 20/02/2019 16:57

The French fancies

Fivefootoffun · 20/02/2019 17:03

Hummus - 65p a tub
Their big malted bloomer loafs
Greek yoghurt (fage dupe)
Chicken fillets
Their strawberry conserve is lovely and I can’t tell it apart from bonne maman
Oatcakes

flowersaremyfave · 20/02/2019 17:08

Red pepper hummus
Toilet rolls
Baby wipes
Chicken and mango flatbread 😋
Lemon cheesecake

SamSpade · 20/02/2019 17:09

Moser Roth chocolate

Insomnibrat · 20/02/2019 17:10

I have to disagree on the Norpak spread I'm afraid...it doesn't taste of anything! It's just oily, yellow and moist.

SpanielEars070 · 20/02/2019 17:10

Cheese (Colliers)
Salmon fillets
Steak
Whole chickens
Rice
Olive Oil
Thai green curry paste
Shea toilet roll
Greek yogurt
Baking ingredients... sugar, flour, etc.

But the rest of it isn't that great - the fruit and veg is appalling quality compared to Ocado.

dementedpixie · 20/02/2019 17:10

Brioche burger rolls. Dd likes the chicken en croute

ursuslemonade · 20/02/2019 17:21

Cheese topped rolls (4 in a pack)
Vanilla/choc brioche tear n share
Bistro salad

CalamityJune · 20/02/2019 17:21

Scented candles
Quiche
Cheese
Chilled pizzas
Deli meats
Chocolate
Crisps
Cereal- their fruit and fibre is nicer than kelloggs

SimoneStrasser · 20/02/2019 17:27

I think their more expensive lasagne and moussaka are far far better than any other shop bought.

I also rate the pizza, sliced bread and candles, I love all of it Grin

MotherWol · 20/02/2019 17:36

I like their coffee (ground not instant)
Pecan raw bars (nakd dupes)
Exquisite collection wine
All the German meats particularly bratwurst
Moser Roth chocolate
Brioche hotdog rolls/burger buns
DD rates the fake Pom Bears

pinkpanther84 · 20/02/2019 17:46

The vanilla tear and share brioche
Chilled sour dough pizzas
Shortbread fingers
Aldi version of Orios
Washing up liquid
Dishwasher tablets
Nappies and wipes
Baby food/snacks
Curry sauces and popodoms

notacooldad · 20/02/2019 17:50

Hey had jars of picked courgette in the other week. I thought I'd give them ago nad they were really good.
They also had some breadsticks in a ceresise courted box which were much better than the usual type of breadsticks, they were much lighter.

Their own brand ( I think it's Brookfield) full fat Greek yogurt is great.
