Do you shower twice a day on your period?

In order to feel clean and relaxed, I really need to shower before leaving the house and when I come home, when I'm on.

Do most people do similar?

No, why?

Figgygal · 06/02/2019 21:32

Nope never

Dyingforchocolate · 06/02/2019 21:32

I shower twice a day even if I'm not on my period!

NorthernSpirit · 06/02/2019 21:32

No, never.

RLABC · 06/02/2019 21:32

No.

bigchris · 06/02/2019 21:34

Only if it's messy

Just lately I've been flooding Sad at work , so when I come home I have a bath, after having a shower before work

Bestseller · 06/02/2019 21:34

No, I shower in the morning and after exercise, so twice on a day when I exercise late but not because of my period

Loseitandkeepitlost · 06/02/2019 21:35

I shower twice a day everyday!

mimibunz · 06/02/2019 21:35

Yes, it’s just my preference.

MonsterKidz · 06/02/2019 21:37

I’m with you OP.
Shower in morning and bath in evening.
My periods are gross and without sounding too graphic, I get pretty grotty down there.

TokyoSushi · 06/02/2019 21:39

No... unless after exercise, but I use tampons so manage to keep everything reasonably 'tidy'

LoniceraJaponica · 06/02/2019 21:45

Why would you unless you can't wear internal protection?

EatingBreadAndHoney · 06/02/2019 21:51

It won't make any difference to you whether other women do or don't. You do what feels right for you. You're not going to change what you do if the majority of women do something different, are you!

Stuckforthefourthtime · 06/02/2019 21:54

No, and if half the women of Britain (or the world) spent up to a week a month bathing twice, it would be a bit of a disaster for our fresh water and energy use.

Sometimes I'll do a 1 min extra wash in the shower before bed if there's been a leak, but using a mooncup (and before that using tampons) there isn't a huge amount of mess.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 06/02/2019 21:55

No. I only shower twice a day if I've been to the gym.

anniehm · 06/02/2019 21:59

No, it's not messy in my experience.

teapotter1 · 06/02/2019 22:02

I used to do this, sometimes more if I was in this house, just a two minute shower now I'm on the mini pill and don't get a period (yay!)

IdontknowwhyIcallhimGerald · 06/02/2019 22:02

Yes absolutely OP - I feel fresher.

PodgeBod · 06/02/2019 22:02

No, I don't but if my house was set up a bit differently with a nice shower where it wouldn't wake the kids, I probably would.

Ollivander84 · 06/02/2019 22:03

Nope. Usually shower at night

tessiegirl · 06/02/2019 22:05

Yes I do but then I have a shower before work and a bath in the evening everyday anyway

AbsentmindedWoman · 06/02/2019 22:09

I ask because I think gradually, my periods have become heavier and heavier - and reflecting on it, it's not even just the bloodiness, it's feeling so unwell and sweating more from sheer pain and stuff like that that makes an extra shower more comforting and appealing. A hot shower rejuvenates me a little if I'm tired or sick in any way.

I don't remember it being like this when I was younger, it was altogether a less stressful thing.

I use tampons during the day but dislike them at night, and can't use a mooncup.

Not every day, but the first two days I shower morning and evening. My periods are so heavy :(

AlwaysSkintInFebruary · 06/02/2019 22:10

I get the night sweats too. It's only the first two days, although I'm gloomily predicting the menopause from hell if these are my homones just now.

Akire · 06/02/2019 22:12

I do for flooding or just to help with pain relief and feeling less yucky. I hate the iron smell of blood
