What do you remember watching on a Sunday as a kid?

Daughter and I have had our bath and I just had a flash of memory back to the days of watching Bullseye, songs of praise and Howard's way on a Sunday nights.

I even went on YouTube to put a bit of Bully on.. what is it with 6yr olds that don't appreciate old TV?

Pob - and I thought him spitting on the telly was bloody gross even then!
The littlest hobo ‘maybe tomorrow, I’ll want to settle down’ 😂
Highway to heaven - no idea why

Came on to say The Wonder Years & Juliet Bravo but they’ve already been mentioned (surprisingly only once I think)

Did Ramona used to be on on Sundays?

What was the thing called centred around a young lad who was in a band with his friends, very cheesy it was ?

hatethinkingofusernames · 04/02/2019 23:15

EastEnders omnibus, even though I never missed an episode 😂

flissfloss65 · 04/02/2019 23:21

Catweasel
Brothers
Onedin Line. I hated this but wanted to stay up longer. That music still reminds of having school the next day.
Barbed Wire

The Swish of the Curtain

Box of Delights
Narnia
Songs of praise
Antiques Roadshow
Children of Green Knowe
Jane Eyre

Those Sunday night serials were great!

We used to watch them with the grandparents with baked bean toasted sandwiches, followed by ice cream with soda stream fizzy.

A treat because we only had black and white TV at home and no freezer so ice cream was a rarity and never fizzy (except at birthdays)

Yes to so many of these! Also used to dry my hair by the living room has gas fire Grin i also remember watching Keeping Up Appearances and Strange But True with Michael Aspel. They could have been shown on a Saturday though.

mytieisascarf · 05/02/2019 08:51

@MammyShark. It was a fine balance between being close enough for your hair to dry and far enough away for your polyester nightie not to burst into flames. Not to mention having to fight my sisters for best spot and the lovely tartan pattern your torso would go from the heat. Ahhhh those were the days Grin

Catweazle on Sunday evening (early 70s). Even now,I can't hear the theme tune without remembering that dreaded feeling of 'back to school' in the morning.

I remember my mum watching The Onedin Line on a Sunday evening. And just saw above that someone said Brothers - I remember her watching that too! I can still picture 'the brothers' (off to Google it.....)
