How much water do you drink?

On a daily basis.

I've recently started tracking my water and on average, realised I only drink about 0.5l a day.

Drink when you’re thirsty. Doesn’t have to be water. Don’t be fooled by the frequently misquoted so called research funded by the bottled water industry!

TitchyP · 31/01/2019 11:21

I don't drink plain water really! I drink tea (lots of) and that's it. A very occasional glass of tap water if really thirsty and maybe a bit more in summer. I'm healthy as far as I know.

Oddsocksandmeatballs · 31/01/2019 11:24

Is that your fluid intake or plain water intake? I don't drink much water but I do take in plenty of fluids.

Megan2018 · 31/01/2019 11:26

Loads. I don't drink tea or coffee so only drink water, very dilute squash and a small fruit juice most days.
A fizzy drink now and again.

I have a reusable water bottle and at work I easily drink 1.5 litres just in the office. I'd say most days it is about 2.5l of fluid, mostly plain water.

Megan2018 · 31/01/2019 11:27

Sorry also meant to say - this is not because I am trying to be healthy - I just like water and squash and hate hot drinks.

BowBeau · 31/01/2019 11:27

No idea. A coffee in the morning and maybe a glass of water in the evening. Food has water in it anyway. The stuff about drinking a certain amount of water per day is nonsense.

hatethinkingofusernames · 31/01/2019 11:28

I drink a few 750ml a day. I'm just thirsty ALL the time!!

x2boys · 31/01/2019 11:29

Quite a bit, I don't like tea and coffee ,but I drink.suger free flavoured water .

steppemum · 31/01/2019 11:35

none.

On th eother hand I drink tea, fruit juice, milk, and have gravy soups etc.

The research which says we need a lot of water is misquoted, it talked about total amount of fluid intake in a day. Including the juice in the fresh fruit we eat etc.

The 'fact' that alcohol is a diuretic is also misused. Yes it is, but a pint of beer overall adds to the bodies water, as the diuretic effect is less than the volume of the pint of beer

RavenLG · 31/01/2019 11:37

Usually about a litre of water through the day at work. About 3/4 hot drinks (2 coffees, 2 green teas) and then maybe half a litre or a litre of squash in the evening. The less I drink the worse I feel. And the worse my skin is. O

SooticaTheWitchesCat · 31/01/2019 12:23

Loads but I don't drink tea or coffee. I probably drink 6 or 8 glasses a day, more in summer.

halfwitpicker · 31/01/2019 12:23

Yeah quite a lot. At least 2 litres

BlackInk · 31/01/2019 12:25

Another water-dodger here. But I usually have a drink of something on the go - tea, coffee and lots of ginger tea (and a glass of wine most evenings). For some reason people who drink gallons of water (especially from giant bottles with measures on the side) infuriate me.

spritesandunicorns · 31/01/2019 12:26

I drink 3 litres per day in 250ml glasses spread out over the time I’m awake! Sounds crazy but it helps to control my migraines and I feel dehydrated without it now. The amount is based on my weight.

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 31/01/2019 12:29

I've always got a pint glass on the go but probably only drink about 2 pints a day. It's usually fizzy water though.
I'll also have 3 cups of tea or coffee through the day.

babysharkah · 31/01/2019 12:30

About 3l

cliffdiver · 31/01/2019 12:31

I drink 1 litre water.

Plus x1 tea and x2 peppermint teas.

Huntlybyelection · 31/01/2019 12:32

I will drink around 2 litres of water a day. Plus 4 cups of coffee. About 250ml of diluting juice and maybe a can of fizzy juice a day.

umpteennamechanges · 31/01/2019 12:40

None Blush

MagentaRocks · 31/01/2019 12:42

More than 2 litres. I make sure I have at least 2 litres. I don't drink hot drinks so just water and diet coke.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 31/01/2019 12:43

2litres plus usually.

Nottobesoldseparately · 31/01/2019 12:52

About 3 litres of very weak Robinson's orange and pineapple juice a day.

I never drink tea or coffee.

If I'm drinking alcohol, it's probably about 1.5 litres a day.

LoubyLou1234 · 31/01/2019 13:02

I get headaches if i don't get enough to drink. I work 12 and a half hour days and I'm physically very busy. My minimum is a litre of water (more often it's more), I also drink coffee and peppermint tea through the day too.I also notice a difference in my skin when i i haven't drank enough. I'm not bothered if advice is misquoted or misguided I do feel better with a higher fluid intake, and I don't need the toilet loads eitherWink

OldSpeclkledHen · 31/01/2019 13:07

Not enough

Miffymeow · 31/01/2019 13:13

I get bad bladder pain if I don't drink enough due to chronic dehydration. I just very rarely get thirsty so I have to set myself reminders, which DP finds very strange. I try to force myself to drink at least 1.5L per day. Don't like hot drinks so pretty much all robinsons squash of some variety. If I have less than about 0.75L in a day I start to get bladder pain and muscle cramps/spasms.
