If May suddenly resigned, who would you want to be the new Pm?

And why

I would want Jacob Rees Mog , best person at the moment imo

Anyone but Rees-Mogg and Boris.

JRM is ridiculous and that cultivated persona he has is laughable. He's doesn't give a shit about anyone. He's never held a major cabinet role but because he's posh he's the right man for the job

Boris is an ego on legs. Completely untrustworthy.

Javid would be the best. Keir Starmer from labour.

Lweji · 25/01/2019 18:57

Edmund Blackadder.

Failing that, Baldrick would do just as good job as May or any Brexiter Tory.

Wheeesht · 25/01/2019 18:58

Mogg and Johnson would not have been indulged one percent as much as they have been if they'd been bog standard lower middle class blokes from Swindon. England's infatuation with all that is posh is so destructive.

Lweji · 25/01/2019 18:59

... And even George would be better than Jacob Rees Mog .

EssentialHummus · 25/01/2019 18:59

David Miliband.

Butterymuffin · 25/01/2019 18:59

David Lammy, Yvette Cooper, Kier Starmer, Hillary Benn.
If it has to be a Tory, Ken Clarke or Dominic Grieve.

Itstartedinbarcelona · 25/01/2019 19:02

Vince Cable for me

redoval · 25/01/2019 19:03

Keri Starmer or Yvette Cooper

ILikeyourHairyHands · 25/01/2019 19:05

Ruth Davidson. I reckon she'd be a safe pair of hands.

She's just had a baby though so the timing may not be great!

Chocolatedeficitdisorder · 25/01/2019 19:05

Keir Starmer

Are there really people out there who think Rees-Mogg is anything other than a deluded, posh twit?

Ta1kinPeace · 25/01/2019 19:06

I admit that as a former HUGE Vince fan, he's utterly lost it lately.

Tory : Ken Clarke (as Dominic Grieve is bright but has the charisma of a carpet tile) with Ruth Davidson to add humour

Labour : Keir Starmer or Yvette Cooper

Libdem : very lacking but Jo Swinson is the future

itsbritneybiatches · 25/01/2019 19:07

@Racecardriver

This one

Wheeesht · 25/01/2019 19:07

Yes, Vince has not only dropped the ball, he's lost the ball.

Daisychainsandglitter · 25/01/2019 19:08

Surely JRM as PM has got to be a joke!! Shock

Firstbornunicorn · 25/01/2019 19:10

Only one person within my living memory would have been able to sort this mess out, and that's Mo Mowlam.

Unfortunately, she's dead. So, I dunno. Anarchy?

CrumpBrunette · 25/01/2019 19:12

Mhairi Black! I do realise she's SNP so nor currently possible, but she's about the only MP that I genuinely believe when she says she cares.

FatandSassy · 25/01/2019 19:13

Jeremy Corbyn, Barry Gardiner, or Emily Thornberry.

Torias... none. Maybe John Major since he seems to actually talk sense in regards to this whole mess we're in, unlike the current shower.

Beachtimeyay · 25/01/2019 19:14

Yvette Cooper

Patroclus · 25/01/2019 19:15

Tom Courtenay.

NaturalBlondi · 25/01/2019 19:15

Cal pop
What has JRM said that makes him sexist?

PestymcPestFace · 25/01/2019 19:15

Mhairi Black would be possible if we learnt how to do coalitions.

Jake is not really up to the job. Honestly his missus would be much better.

SymphonyofShadows · 25/01/2019 19:17

David Lammy

Iolaus84 · 25/01/2019 19:17

Chuka Umunna all the way. If he hadn't have withdrawn from the labour leader election I think we would be looking at a totally different climate right now.

Wheeesht · 25/01/2019 19:21

He's a fundamentalist Catholic. Therefore he's a misogynist.

Willowcat77 · 25/01/2019 19:22

Jeremy Corbyn
