House porn! Sort of...

Maybe it's reverse house porn. I can't decide whether my favourite thing is the fox humping the partridge or the Mona Lisa shower curtain watching you wash your bits...

Rightmove linky

What about you?

Wow bit much for me. But fair enough if they like it. I quite like lots of interesting things around me though rather than a boring home. It's a no on the taxidermy Angry Sad

Wow
I’ve no words, and I do admire their flamboyance but what the fuck !!!

ChameleonCircuit · 23/01/2019 21:56

There's still what looks like a price tag hanging off the green cushion in a couple of pics. Wonder what that's all about - did they buy a load of soft furnishings, photograph them in place, then return them?

MadeleineMaxwell · 23/01/2019 21:58

the shoes are so incongruous.

I think it's the rather pedestrian (ahaha) shoes next to the amazing be-curtained bedroom TV and booze cupboard with golden goblets. It's a bit of a contrast.

I love that it has "hand painted muriel" !!!! Grin

Miane · 23/01/2019 22:03

The fact that the decor isn’t in keeping with the house would annoy me.

Whisky2014 · 23/01/2019 22:06

I assume it's like a boutique hotel?

I like It!

GrumpySausage · 23/01/2019 22:08

I'm a particular fan of the fox straddling the bannister.

I've sent it to three people already. I'd love to see the estate agents faces when they log in tomorrow 'Susan, any idea why we've had over 1000 plus hits on the peacock house?' Grin

IHeartKingThistle · 23/01/2019 22:09

I love that oversized painting in the kitchen.

inthekitchensink · 23/01/2019 22:10

Love the William Morris Arts & Crafts peacock prints and a lot of the wood work is gorgeous

Petalflowers · 23/01/2019 22:17

Wow, wasn’t expecting that! Initially I thought it was definantly OTT, butit kinda grew on me. It’s so well done.

Love to know who lives there, and how they dress, act etc.

There’s another thread going asking what people disliked in a house when house hunting. I don’t recall foxes and peacocks, and rooms named after royal palaces being on that list!

Jaimx86 · 23/01/2019 22:19

^ some quick Google searches suggest the adult female living there is a nurse.

FiggyFudgePot · 23/01/2019 22:22

Shock Wowzers thats quite something! I think its great apart from all the taxidermy.

Quartz2208 · 23/01/2019 22:22

the rightmove station info is odd as well though - its close to where my grandparents lived in 10 minutes to Kettering which is an hour into London so why they make it sound miles away from random stations

Giraffetower · 23/01/2019 22:23

I love it! I wouldn't buy it or live there Grin but I adore the fact that someone has created that. A masterpiece of individuality.

I feel sad that they are leaving. I only hope they have won the euromillions and can finally buy a French chateau or Scottish castle worthy of their talent.

Petalflowers · 23/01/2019 22:24

neighbours house

Plain and boring in comparison, but four bedroom £10000 cheaper!

MrsDeanWinchester75 · 23/01/2019 22:24

That's fascinating, I wonder if they dress themselves regally too.

Petalflowers · 23/01/2019 22:26

I wonder what Keith Lemon should make,of it on Through the Keyhole?

Lycanthropology · 23/01/2019 22:27

Wow, they’ve gone full on “fuck it” haven’t they?
It’s quite impressive. I love the murals.

Villanellesproudmum · 23/01/2019 22:30

What about this one Op, although you might be too late www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-68070151.html

Lucisky · 23/01/2019 22:31

The blurb says it's based on Belvoir Castle, and I am just, at this minute, half watching phil Spencer visiting it. The family emblem was the peacock apparently, so that explains a lot. I think the house is amazing. I wouldn't want to live with that much stuff though. It must be a pain to dust, but it looks spotlessly clean. The only thing that jars is the red paving outside - really don't like that.

MadeleineMaxwell · 23/01/2019 22:34

That's fascinating, I wonder if they dress themselves regally too.

If they wear anything less than velvet, ruffles and ruffs, I shall be severely disappointed.

I think I saw that one a while back - you've got to admire people who just go full-on this is meeeeee and splash it all over their houses. And the painted ceilings there are just gorgeous. The orange kitchen was not my bag though!

I think it's kind of fabulous in a not for me thanks kind of way.

I didn't look at the details before I looked through the pictures and assumed it was a 5 bed plus b&b, shocked it's 2 bed! There's a lot of "suites"!

Not a fan of all the dead though.

icantthinkofanotherone · 23/01/2019 22:38

Is it Elton John's weekend cottage?

No, perhaps not.
