Ds is 12 days old. Delivery via c section after difficult pg.

We discharged from hospital after 24 hours, he had a neonatal alert for his birth but it wasn't necessary. He was assessed by a paediatrician before discharge. All fine.

Since coming home he has a cough and jaundice. On day 4 we went to gp who referred him back to paediatric ward for reassessment. Again all clear.

The cough is viral and I can't put him down. He doesn't sleep other than on me. He coughs every time I lie him down. The wailing is constant unless he's feeding. I'm at the end of my tether. Please help.

Glad things are looking up :) you’re right though, as soon as you e stopped worrying about this, he’ll start doing something new and terrifying ;)

Definitely worth getting a few opinions and specifically ask about a posterior tongue tie, they are harder to diagnose.

You sound much happier, don't worry about the dusting too. Yes you'll want to keep the house tidy but it's a thankless task that will need to be done in a day or two again. Make sure you get as much rest (and sleep if you can) as possible.

HV and GP both said our little boy didn't have a tongue tie. We found someone on www.tongue-tie.org.uk/Mobile/m-private-tongue-tie-practitioners.html. She was brilliant. It wasn't the perfect answer for us as he went on to be diagnosed with a high palate and silent reflux but it helped a lot. Only now do I see how little his tongue moved before.
