Is the Duchess of Sussex expecting twins?

I've just seen pics of her at an engagement today and that is a seriously massive bump! But not due until end April/early May (she told people this herself today) which makes her not even 6 months but she literally looks like I did at about 8 months so I'm wondering if the 'twins' story published overseas might actually be accurate?

I recon the baby will be 'early' because she was already pregnant before they got married Grin

FlamingJuno · 15/01/2019 07:02

What's a moonbump?
I think she's huge and her baby is due early March, but they're not saying that because it's a honeymoon baby. Either that or she's just comically massive and will have to stop going out in public before long Grin

Ladymargarethall · 15/01/2019 07:04

Didn't Charles and Diana have a honey moon baby?

I think she's due earlier than she's said.....so all the press vultures won't be camped out speculating etc.

FevertreeLight · 15/01/2019 07:11

Mine was due mid April and from January people said any day now. Turned out to be excessive fluid around the baby.

Gigglebrain · 15/01/2019 07:11

I looked full term at 6 months, I was MASSIVE! People are all different.

PetuliaBlavatsky · 15/01/2019 07:14

I used to hold my bump underneath when I had spd, trying to support the weight of it so my pelvis didn't fall apart. I wasn't wearing stilettos at the time though. I had a massive bump at 6 months, and looked ridiculous by term.

burritofan · 15/01/2019 07:14

comically massive

Confused We must be looking at a very different set of photographs

frogbull · 15/01/2019 07:15

I was smaller than that when I had my twins at 37 weeks. Bumps vary so much. I didn't tell people I was pregnant until 20 weeks, and then not with twins until about 30. With my single baby, I barely looked pregnant at 40 weeks. Some of my friends have had massive bumps. It's just down to the individual, their build, and probably a load of undefinable other factors.

Earlywalker · 15/01/2019 07:17

My bump was that size at 6 months with my first, i was a size 6 then (not anymore!) I think it may just look bigger as she’s dainty, I was asked if it was twins too.

I wish I looked half as good as her not pregnant

PassTheGinPlease · 15/01/2019 07:19

I thought she looked big, but then with DD, my first, I barely showed until 8.5 months and carried on wearing my 30inch waist jeans until 7.5 months, but with DS, born at 28 weeks, I was huge and in maternity wear from 4 months or I couldn't breathe.
Are there twins in her family? I was told that could have an effect on the chance of twins. I don't think there's been any in Harry's side though.

Rhubarbisevil · 15/01/2019 07:22

I am convinced that the RF ladies give birth at least 2 weeks before their official due dates which is how Kate looked so relaxed and glamorous on the steps holding a baby with an uncrumpled face. I think they have “official” birthdays for the public and real birthdays for themselves. Obviously they will have fake birth certificates, you know, like stating that their occupation is “Princess of the U.K.”

Herja · 15/01/2019 07:30

Leave tbe bump cradling alone! My bump fucking hurt me sometimes. I was often like that until I got a special support belt to hold it up for me. Holding it took a lot of the pressure off and that was definitely from about 6 months. I'd not want to be wearing one of the belts under that dress though...

I think she's probably actually about 7 months and think she looks a lot smaller than I did at 7 months!

Mrsmadevans · 15/01/2019 07:34

Have been convinced that she is expecting twins since the announcement. She just seemed to grow a bump overnight. Mind Alex Jones of the one show has done the same. Knowing how lucky Meghan is she'd definitely have twins 🙄

CatnissEverdene · 15/01/2019 07:40

I'm more amazed by her ability to walk in those heels yesterday. She didn't wobble once. I've never been able to walk in even a small heel, I'm like Bambi on ice Sad

adaline · 15/01/2019 07:44

It always surprises me on these threads how bitchy women can be about total strangers they've never met Hmm

Seline · 15/01/2019 07:44

She's bigger than I was with my twins so it's possible. This is me at around 5 months w/twins.

I had huge bumps in all 3 pregnancies. Literally first thing people would say was “twins”.

When I said no they would look horrified and say “are you due any day”. I gave up saying “no, another 6 weeks” as then people started asking me if I had got my dates wrong (I was like well I imagine the sonographer hasn’t).

Some of us just have massive bumps. Do people honestly think they will try and sneakily pass of an “early” 8 pounder?

RedDwarves · 15/01/2019 07:50

I think it's just because Kate was so small, comparatively.

I don't think she looks especially big.

Rubberduckies · 15/01/2019 07:52

Bumps are funny things. In the same day at work I had 3 or 4 people tell me I was massive. And another 3 or 4 people tell me I was tiny. Basically everyone is different! I would imagine that she's hinted her due date is later than it is so she doesn't get hassled. I wish I'd thought of doing that.

2019StandingforWomen · 15/01/2019 08:01

Just Googled moonbump and whole world of speculation opened up to me. Apparently a lot of celebrities now use surrogates so that they can keep their figures whilst having their own babies and a moon bump is a fake bump they strap-on for photos. They all seem to be photographed clutching it protectively probably making sure that it doesn't slip.

Inktank · 15/01/2019 08:06

Meghan's bump looks impossibly high up to me.

Lofari · 15/01/2019 08:09

I think She always looks like she's worried the baby will fall out if she doesn't hold on Hmm

ResistanceIsNecessary · 15/01/2019 08:12

She's very slender so I imagine that's why the bump is so prominent. I don't think this is a 'moonbump' - her face is fuller. Apart from anything else there is no way the royals would get away with it! Buck Palace leaks like a sieve in terms of confidential info.

I think she looks very well and they both look happy - good luck to them.

AwkwardAsAllGetout · 15/01/2019 08:17

God I’m glad I’m not in the public eye. I’m 29 weeks and have been told variously in just the last week that my bump looks huge and also tiny. My baby is ridiculously good at turning somersaults and seems to be most comfy sat transverse right on my sciatic nerve. The difference in bump size and shape when she moves has to be seen to be believed. I’ve thought from the beginning that Meghan’s probably due about the same time as me, the vet last day of March. The speculation about every tiny thing the woman does is quite unbelievable. I’m crippled with pelvic pain atm and have been for the last month, I’m just in awe that she can wear such high heels when I can barely hobble from the sofa to the loo. I tend to hold my bump underneath to try and unwedge baby from my bladder. It must be tricky when on such public engagements to just nip to the loo whenever you need to go.
