Who would you vote for in a General Election?

If there was a GE tomorrow, which political party would you vote for?

Personally I would vote Labour as I want to see an end to austerity, more money invested in public services and less inequality.

snp for me

bookworm14 · 13/01/2019 21:27

Labour, but only because I know my local MP personally and she’s great. If she wasn’t standing, it would very much depend on who the labour candidate was. If they were a corbynite I’d probably spoil my ballot paper to be honest.

I have worked in politics, and have been interested in it for my whole adult life. I’ve always defended MPs when people try to tar them all with the same brush, but at the moment I’m very much ‘a plague on all your houses’.

MayhemandMadness01 · 13/01/2019 21:27

Most definitely not Tory, Labour supporter but they will only get my vote if they held another vote.

Ide spoil my vote too

ShadyLady53 · 13/01/2019 21:28

Lib Dems.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 13/01/2019 21:28

Until we get the debt coming down and a Labour leader who promises to live within our means then I will have to vote Conservative.

UrsulaPandress · 13/01/2019 21:29

I’d spoil my vote with a short essay on why.

DialsMavis · 13/01/2019 21:29

Nobody for the first time ever, they all disgust me.

Yabbers · 13/01/2019 21:30

Conservative. You don’t change your manager in the middle of a match. A change in Government right now would lead to absolute mayhem with Brexit.

Ask the the day after Brexit and it may well be different but like it or not, we’ve to get to the end of the path we are on as quickly as possible so we can start getting things back on track. I wouldn’t ever cast a vote for Corbyn though so not sure what the best option would be.

Mum2jenny · 13/01/2019 21:31

Spoil my paper. But would vote SNP if I were in Scotland ( or they were standing in my constituency in England).

Fucket · 13/01/2019 21:31

No one, I would love to vote labour, but can’t bring myself to vote for a party whose leader does little stop anti-semitism, has a problem with women and sympathises with terrorists. I’m pretty sure he’s pro- Brexit, he didn’t actually go out of his way to campaign passionately for Remain.

I won’t be voting.

SciFiScream · 13/01/2019 21:31

SNP, Women's Equality Party (even though I disagree with them on one particular point) or Labour. Depending on who my local candidate was.
Tory wouldn't get a look in.
Lib Dem? Maybe.
I would vote and I wouldn't spoil my paper. I am thinking of some form of protest around the next census though.

HainaultViaNewburyPark · 13/01/2019 21:31

I’d want to vote Lib Dem, but it’s way too risky as I live in a Labour/Tory marginal. So I imagine I’d reluctantly vote labour.

Chrysanthemum5 · 13/01/2019 21:31

I have no idea I'm a lifelong labour voter but I won't vote for a party that thinks woman is a costume/feeling rather than a reality. So labour, snp, greens, Lib Dem are all out. And I won't vote Tory for the same reason but also their austerity and universal credit. So but stuck really.

Yabbers · 13/01/2019 21:32

But would vote SNP if I were in Scotland

Perhaps if you were in Scotland you wouldn’t be so sure!

whatswithtodaytoday · 13/01/2019 21:32

Labour, as the least worst option. I don't actually want Corbyn to be PM and am fucking furious about his stance (or lack of) on Brexit, but there really isn't another option.

That said, I'm in a massively Tory constituency and can't see it changing for a generation, at least.

Yellowbrickhouse · 13/01/2019 21:33

Spoiled vote. I am an adult human female XX : woman.

MrsFogi · 13/01/2019 21:33

No one unless one of the parties pledges the following in their manifesto:

  1. ditch Brexit (or at least have a second referendum; and
  2. to define women as adult human females and review the current moves towards self-id.
MeetOnTheledge · 13/01/2019 21:34

I think I would spoil my vote too. Never thought I would seriously consider doing that.

Huffleypuff · 13/01/2019 21:35

Conservative Party, they aren’t ideal but they’re policies most closely align with my views.

Spoiling a ballot is shameful IMO

I really hope there is no GE as I think we would get more or less the same as we did last time give or take the odd MP change. I do not really see the point as once done and dusted, politics in this country would still be dominated by "what do we do with a problem named Brexit?". Until we resolve it, nothing else can move forward with any real purpose.

If we have another round of voting, I'd rather go with a second referendum as at least this will sort out Brexit one way or another.

PestymcPestFace · 13/01/2019 21:36

We need a 'Gang of four' rebels to start a new centralist party. And to promise to bring in electoral reform.

The current line up have proved to be unsatisfactory.

FogCutter · 13/01/2019 21:37

Labour because I have a fantastic labour MP who seems to vote/ support for everything I believe in. He's done a lot fur our local area (and he hates Corbyn).

However if there was a decent and well led centre - left party to vote for I would probably vote for them.

ShadyLady53 · 13/01/2019 21:37

@PestymcPestFace I completely agree!
