What a load of fucking shit.

I'd seen it mentioned on here a couple of times and so I just googled it. Why the fuck would anyone want a drip stain on their toilet roll. As if someone thinks "Oh this is a new roll, great". It's just fucking toilet roll!

hobby1

an activity done regularly in one's leisure time for pleasure.

So Yeh, its not a hobby for Mrs Hinch.

Gummy, probably nothing bad. It's just her followers are very sensitive.

Cleaning isn't a hobby any more than the school run is, or going to the supermarket. I might try and make doing Tax Return a hobby - it might get done then.

GlitterStick · 15/01/2019 14:03

Seeing as most things get left to stand on MN and "debate" allowed, more likely it was nothing to do with her use of cleaning products, her methods, or her ads.
Which is the usual guff spouted out as concern.
Much more likely to be veering into personal again.

Whisky2014 · 15/01/2019 14:05

Very sensitive indeed

How can cleaning be a hobby when her house never gets a chance to actually need cleaning. 🤷🏻‍♀️

ILoveMaxiBondi · 15/01/2019 14:46

Of course cleaning can be a hobby! Some people love cleaning and will spend hours doing it, researching different products, methods, “hacks”. I clean for a living. As in, it’s my job and I get paid for it, but I also love nothing more than an empty house and getting stuck into a child’s bedroom or bathroom. I find it really therapeutic. If I’m agitated or stressed I turn on the music channel and get out my caddy. It really works out my stress.

*Why on earth does everything have to be about middle/working class

Its really silly*

Because this is Britain in 2019, class impacts everything. It doesn't take a lot to see that even just looking at the low level classism such as is on display in this thread. Have a look through the responses and imagine this kind of passionate outrage for a woman who isn't working class.

Media has changed, working class people can speak for themselves and to a working class audience. And some people can't handle that. If you only want to see the homes of the upper class, you can find them in magazines although I'd imagine they're a cleaner version than the homes of the mumsnet middle class who view cleaning as something only women with internalised misogyny spend time on.

Nat6999 · 15/01/2019 15:23

All this cleaning mania is just the flavour of the month, give it a year & there will be something else trending. The thing I don't agree with is Mrs Hinch mixing cleaning products & causing potential harm with the fumes, Zoflora shouldn't be mixed with anything, if you want a bleach that smells nice then buy a scented bleach, don't mix other chemicals with it. If stamping your toilet roll helps your mental health then do it, it isn't causing harm to anyone, but stay away from the cleaning cocktails.

GummyGoddess · 15/01/2019 15:40

But I didn't say anything personal Confused

If I was to guess it wasn't that I said someone else has nicer taps than me. Hoping she knows about the link between extreme cleanliness and leukaemia in children isn't personal. Neither was saying that any behaviour that was excessive was unusual, I am pretty sure I didn't specify cleaning as I would think the same if someone spent every waking hour running.

Dunno how you can tell someones class from how clean their house is

Ive also no idea how you can tell class from an internet post

53rdWay · 15/01/2019 16:23

yes, the only reason someone could ever have a problem with Instagram “influencers” is... class. Riiiiiiight.

This thread is an absolutely fascinating look at the mentality of “armies”. Who knew laughing at the insanity of stamping your loo roll could cause such a kerfuffle?!

Whisky2014 · 15/01/2019 17:59

Enlightening definitely.

This thread is an absolutely fascinating look at the mentality of “armies”

It reminded me very much of the time I said SClub7 were shit, on a music forum circa 2001. Those 13 year olds really came for me.

Well, yeah. That's cos two identical thread's I'm interested in is running at the same time.
Oops. Are we only allowed to comment on more than one if it's to chant something like "you're shit, and you know you are?"
My Bad.

Whisky2014 · 15/01/2019 18:40

Oh god. On and on you go. Yes, we can dictate which threads people can comment on..clearly.
Not just making observations about how "the army" work.

On and on you go

Sorry, was I meant to ignore something clearly aimed at me? Cry and slink off or something?
Whoopsie.
