I am !

I have bought a shiny new notebook.
I have been searching pintrest for bullet journal ideas.
This includes couch to 5k (for the 3rd time)

I really need to sort my health and fatness (not a typo) out .

So if you need a partner in crime to give you a nudge or a kick then please come and join me.

More importantly if you are one of the few miracles out there that day feeling like this last year and actually succeeded please come and tell me your tales.

All welcome.

Honestly I'm not entirely sure! The whole idea though is to get out of the dieting cycle and address issues with food and focus on being healthy.

I lose weight pretty quickly with diet clubs but then always put it back on (with interest) so I really want to sort my relationship with food out. I'll report back when I get started!

Awks · 29/12/2018 20:36

Me! I've a bad knee, am menopausal and a world beating excuse maker. But have 2 holidays planned, one at Easter the other in nov and I want to lose a stone by the first and another by the second.

I know my knee hurts because I'm too fat. But it's more motivating to picture my lard arse in a swimsuit tbh

Howlongtillbedtime · 29/12/2018 20:38

crime I will Google it and have a look.

I am a master procrastinator Grin

Me! Though my birthday is mid-january and that's usually a stumbling block. I'm planning a dry January and I'm genuinely sick of chocolate now. My youngest is starting nursery and I'm hoping to use the time to meal prep and freeze.

VittysCardigan · 29/12/2018 20:39

Me! I have 3 shiny new notebooks/journals GrinGrin 1 for bullet journal, 1 diary/note book, and 1 book journal.
I am turning 50 in March and want the year to be a positive one. I have many lists that i want to turn into experiences

KirstyAllsoppsFatterTwin · 29/12/2018 20:39

Me! Grin

It starts tomorrow. It was going to start today but I accidentally ate a massive slice of pizza and a jacket potato in Costco today. Blush

flippyflapper · 29/12/2018 20:41

Me me me

Every year I start slimming world, and I do well till summer and put it back on gradually between then and Xmas and start over again

I'm 34 need to lose 2 stone to be in lower end of healthy so not mega amount but still.

What's different this year? I had a heart attack 3 and bit weeks ago so trying to lead a healthy life style from now on

Deeedeeee · 29/12/2018 20:41

Meeee!
I need to sort it out.
Am eating EVERYTHING I SEE. Am a slug, a lazy slug, a slug with a bottle of wine.

Help me. Every year I say right that's it healthy eating and exercising from now on. I lose a bit of weight then it goes back on again. I'm not technically overweight for my height but carrying a bit too much for my small frame, and am just SO unfit.

NorthEndGal · 29/12/2018 20:42

Thinking about cutting down the drinking, as I rummage for a bottle of rum
Thinking about cutting down the sugar, while licking the brownie batter spoon
Thinking about organizing my time better, so I can go running again, as I watch an episode or 6 on Netflix
Bit of a pattern here....

SheWoreBlueVelvet · 29/12/2018 20:44

Yep.
I lost loads of weight in 2018and more importantly inches..Was looking good. Have been on a slippery slope all December and completely crashed and burned the last two weeks.
It’s worse because I know I can lose it now, so I think “ I’ll start tomorrow”. Mostly it’s drinking. I have had sooo much to drink since I broke up from school. And a Baileys is not a dieters friend.

Howlongtillbedtime · 29/12/2018 20:44

vittys 3 notebooks is amazing Grin I thought I was bad. I have bought fineliners today .

flippy that is scary. No better reason for sorting yourself out.

I'm in too. Normality resumes on 7th so it may be then. Agree re rethinking my relationship with food. Just put in my Tesco order and have good veggies to make a lovely veg soup.

Gimmeesugar · 29/12/2018 20:45

I’m eating a KFC and drinking wine...

MrsWembley · 29/12/2018 20:48

Hello. This sounds like something that I could become involved in. I have plans and they involve me being a stone a a half lighter with a liver that doesn't crumple under a glass of wine or a stomach that doesn't explode after just one hors d'oeuvre...

So, it's possible to survive January without drinking any alcoholic beverage, yes? I was hoping that this would be all that I might have to endure to achieve the above. I have been partaking of a considerable amount of a varying type of wine and spirit (and fortified wine and spirit) and am feeling a tad under the weather. However, my plans are to continue for the foreseeable future (because I can only see until New Year's Eve) as I have several beverages still to enjoy.

Howlongtillbedtime · 29/12/2018 20:49

gimme I would love a KFC

Me! I've got 11 more kilos to go. But a month ago I only had 10 kilos to go. Bastard Christmas, it tied me up and forced food into my mouth. I annoyed a friend by smugly refusing to eat any of her biscuits earlier, then came home and ate most of a tub of ice cream. FFS.

2019IsGonnaBeMyYear · 29/12/2018 20:51

I am in! Bullet journal in process of being set up but also have a general diary for the household, a diary for my handbag PLUS a weight loss journal. I am gonna crack this in 2019!!

I also bought a new fitness watch (cheap rip off of a Fitbit but so far so good and can recommend if anyone interested - just haven't had chance to test sleep mode yet!!) with some Christmas money.

Currently eating ALL Christmas chocolate I was gifted just to get rid. And have tonight got tipsy on lager and lime and left over vodka .... doing dry January so going for it now

I turn 40 at the end of May - I am determined this is the year I get my shit together, better late than never!!

House is also getting an overhaul with the help of Kondo and Team TOMM.

Have issues with depression and anxiety but they aren't gonna get a look in this year. I'm too busy getting slim, getting my house organised and have loads of lovely events lined up with family.

I am also going to work on general health and fitness - lots of walking to start off with as have a problem with my joints which is made worse by the extra 4ish stone I am lugging about. And lots and lots of water - my skin will thank me for it I am certain!

Can't decide wether to start Monday or Tuesday though...... am tempted for Monday as it's the start of the week and I will find excuses otherwise to wait til next Monday!

Oops sorry for the essay, has helped getting it all out though as my mind is a little clearer

muddledmidget · 29/12/2018 20:52

Definitely me! I've put on 1.5st and I was already at the top of my BMI so that needs to go first, then the other stone that I always talked about losing. So my gym membership can no longer be considered a charity donation Blushand I must actually attend, and attend regularly!

So I will also be doing C25K for the third time, and writing in my journals and meal planning, at least for the first week in January....

My sister bought me a journal called Looking after Me for Xmas so I might make a start on filling that in. I think I'm going to start on Monday, it's easier to do these things at the start of a week, plus I'm working NYE until 11pm so it won't be much of a celebration

Can anyone share their goals for the next week or month in terms of duet/exercise to give me more motivation?

iceskatekate · 29/12/2018 20:53

I need this thread!

I feel really determined this year, I have more time due to changes in work/childcare stuff so it should be much more achievable.

I've tried slimming world, slim fast etc in the past and it works but is just a short term fix for me. This year I'm stopping the fad diets and just eating healthily and increasing actually doing some exercise.

I'm planning on doing couch to 5k and 2 gym classes a week.

Planning to buy a shiny new notebook tomorrow to make a plan.

Also signed up for a mindfulness course which I'm really looking forward to.

VittysCardigan · 29/12/2018 20:53

HowLong I have fineliners too Smile

ThunderStorms · 29/12/2018 20:55

I think I need to exercise more. Then I eat less.. just finding the time to get round to it... plus I LOVE food. It’s my little pleasure at the end of the day. Not too bothered the rest of the day.

User5trillion · 29/12/2018 20:55

Eating cheese and biscuits, thinking exactly that I must do something.

Wont start until the 2nd however as its traditional in the user household to start new year with a double vodka and coke plus a big fat greasy burger😁.

Not focusing on diet as I am shit at dieting, making a focus on nutrient rich food and no processed rubbish. Will also start fasting as that really works well for me.

Will start walking the dog everyday.

I am giving up booze however.

MyNameIsNotSteven · 29/12/2018 20:57

Sort of. I've made a half arsed attempt at losing weight this year, and am ending the year a stone lighter than I started it, which is a result in my book. It's accelerated recently with my inability to be organised enough to make a decent packed lunch, so taking either a bagel or one of those instant noodle things. Also I have been hopping on the X-trainer at the gym, sticking something from a box set on my phone and doing 40-50 mins exercise while watching TV. I love it as I never usually have the time to watch anything.

I think I'll be a bit less idle this year and see if I can get a bit more off. I have zero plans to buy new kit, set a life-changing goal, join Weight Watchers or anything like that. I'm not going all Instagram on your arse. No pressure at all. Just lazy, unwholesome fitness.

Howlongtillbedtime · 29/12/2018 20:58

You better not all disappear next week !

I will track you down and nag.

OP posts:
MrsWembley · 29/12/2018 20:58

muddled, goals for the week is a top idea!

Mine is to get through New Year's Day without any alcohol... or should I start on the 2nd?
