Who else is sitting planning their new healthy version of themselves while eating pringles and drinking wine ?

I am !

I have bought a shiny new notebook.
I have been searching pintrest for bullet journal ideas.
This includes couch to 5k (for the 3rd time)

I really need to sort my health and fatness (not a typo) out .

So if you need a partner in crime to give you a nudge or a kick then please come and join me.

More importantly if you are one of the few miracles out there that day feeling like this last year and actually succeeded please come and tell me your tales.

All welcome.

Please can I join?
Same old same old lost 2.5 stones last year which I found really hard with sw but have gained all back. So amazing how Those mug shots cease to work alongside copious amounts of wine and salted caramel whips
Please help!,,

sockportal · 29/12/2018 23:08

Me too! I'm eating celebrations and bullet journaling lies about about how healthy, wealthy and organised I'll be next year.

earlgreymarl · 29/12/2018 23:17

Me! I'm in. Not sure how much I have to lose but slippery slope for various reasons this year. Journals: check! Aspiration: check! Would welcome some accountability ( Bailey's nearly empty!).

Did some decluttering & home cooking today & went to gym yesterday and feel great for it.

Howlongtillbedtime · 29/12/2018 23:17

2019 it's a leuchtturm . I wanted a dot notebook instead of lines and was too impatient to wait for a cheap one .

I am so happy to see I am not alone.

Now we just need to stay around in the New year and nag each other.

Me... I’d like to lose 3 stone too and do the couch to 5k for the second time.
I’ve had 3 serious health scares this year and I want to put it all behind me and look after my body.
I gave up smoking 10 weeks ago and I’d like to give up drinking in 2019. X

llangennith · 29/12/2018 23:39

I've watched every season of The Biggest Loser (Oz and USA versions, UK is crap) and still sit there stuffing my face while marvelling at their weight loss.

HalloumiGus · 30/12/2018 00:36

I literally did what you have described OP! Eating Pringles while planning what needs to change next year by magical means.

Fuktifano · 30/12/2018 00:49

Pringles and wine, are we so predictable? Feel like there's a secret camera somewhere, sip, crunch Grin

diamantegal · 30/12/2018 00:53

Look what you made me do! But presumably I'll be instantly slim and waif-like, just through the power of stationery...

Who else is sitting planning their new healthy version of themselves while eating pringles and drinking wine ?

I'm already wondering if Dry January counts if you take just one night off for your birthday

I was wondering if Dry January included week-ends!GrinWine

CmdrIvanova · 30/12/2018 08:34

Dry-er January is still better, no? I might have a glass of prosecco at a spa break booked for mid Jan but other than that I am aiming not to drink until DH's birthday in April. I stayed dry from mid September until the end of November this year and felt less tired for it.

Howlongtillbedtime · 30/12/2018 09:43

What is all this dry January talk ?

I am not even going to try that. No fads ! And i know it will set me up to fail.

I have signed up to do a 5k on the 3rd March Shock
I need something to work towards otherwise it will be 12 months down the line and I will still be unfit and fat.

So Wednesday is the start of this new marvellous shiny me.
Or more truthfully the start of the bored , starving and pissed off me.

thegrumpallo · 30/12/2018 09:55

Nah. I'm not feeling it.
I'd really like to, really. But. I.just.cannot.be.arsed.
How on earth are you all motivating yourselves? How how??
Every now and then the scary realisation that I'm nearing 52 which was when my dad died suddenly of an undiagnosed heart condition no doubt brought about by his obesity, dawns on me. But even then!! Aargh.

diamantegal · 30/12/2018 10:19

Not dry January, no. But also not "drink almost every night like I have in December" January either. So moderation rather than abstinence.

I'm just going to eat more sensibly - I've tried things like the blood sugar diet, and they absolutely work - until I crack and put it all back on. I just don't have the willpower for anything extreme.

And motivation - my mental health. I'm horribly stressed with work and not sleeping. That's why I started going to the gym and it made a huge difference - until I stopped for Christmas. But I need to feel good about myself to tackle everything else that's going on, if that makes any sense - otherwise it's just something else to beat myself up about.

canibehereifimnotamum · 30/12/2018 10:23

Yep! I'm going away with the family today and for the first time have brought an all in one swimsuit. I'm disgusted with my self right now I've put on so much weight! I'm going to do veganary. Did it last year it's when you go vegan for a month. It's a good detox, a lot of Pringles are vegan though so have to stay away!

canibehereifimnotamum · 30/12/2018 10:24

It's my legs mostly. I'm 27 but have such bad cellulite!!!!! When I go to the gym it's fine but I'll stop for a couple of weeks and it comes back with a vengeance!!!

Lovelydovey · 30/12/2018 10:25

I’m in - I think I have about 3 stone to lose though not weighing myself, I’d rather frame it as needing to go from a size 12 to size 8.

I’m going for an entirely dry year (not a big deal as I barely drink), to cut out all sugar (this is a huge deal) and to walk at least 1000 miles, and ideally 2000 miles in 2019.

HeyLala · 30/12/2018 12:52

I've put my first Parkrun in the diary for Saturday 2nd March.
I've also just emailed them to volunteer to help manage the New Years Day run so I can see what it's all about.
Small steps....

Now I'm going to binge eat all the crap in the fridge and cupboards....

BitchQueen90 · 30/12/2018 14:27

I have a bottle of prosecco and a half litre of Baileys to finish before I'm back at work on the 2nd. Then I want to get a bit healthier.

I don't have a huge amount of weight to lose - about a stone and a half. I tend to carry my weight on my arms and waist so they're looking a bit flabby. I do a lot of walking but I think I need to do something with higher intensity.

Sugar is my downfall. I love sweet stuff. I don't usually drink often so I don't plan on cutting back there.

MarmiteTermite · 30/12/2018 14:30

I’m in!

Newtonthehorizon · 30/12/2018 15:19

Place marking cos I need this thread in my life but am currently out on the Wineso will read it properly when in a more sober state 🥴

UnalignedAnt · 30/12/2018 15:27

I'm in too!

Low carbed Feb to July and lost loads, then went haywire. December is a blur of crap food and booze.

Got a Fitbit for Christmas so no excuse. I'm here, I'm ready, I'm doing this! Starting Wednesday, of course 😁👍

MyNameIsNotSteven · 30/12/2018 18:09

Yes I agree. I'll be doing a damp January as opposed to a dry one. I won't be giving anything up as that would require thinking about replacement, but I will definitely cut out mince pies and trifle!

Santasonmynaughtylist · 30/12/2018 18:27

Me!

Half eaten pringles tube at my feet, cherry bun with my tea and DH bringing pizza home while I peruse the weightloss threads on MN. (big tub of Heros is finished except for the eclairs - fillings)

I want to lose one and a half stone by Easter and the rest by the end of the year.

Planning on meal replacement shakes for b/fast and lunch and a SW style main meal for the first week, then I'll add in bf and lunch and ditch the shakes. Fruit only snacks.
