Looking for some inspiration...

Is there something that is relatively inexpensive (£100 max) that has had an good impact on your quality of life?

I have vouchers that need used.

Google Home Mini + Spotify subscription = awesome

Light therapy lamp - less than £50 and is helping me through the winter months

A decent coffee machine

Rice cooker (we eat a lot of rice). Never boils over, so no more cleaning the hob!!

It was £10 in Asda 2 years ago. They are often on offer during the run up to the Chinese New Year (that's when we got ours).

Also, furry slippers from Tesco last month - £11 I think. My feet have never been so warm, and this has improved my mood no end! I get to sleep faster too (no hot water bottle needed).

sprouts21 a heated throw? Where can I get one. That sounds lovely, although I’ll probably have to fight the cat for it

DrWhy · 27/12/2018 00:17

Another vote for an electric blanket, also nice feather pillows and duvet) I like my bed!).
Amazon Fire TV stick - maybe only useful if you already have prime.

@FinallyFree123456789 omg how did I not know about this! Can you please share the link of the one you have?

OnMyWayToday · 27/12/2018 00:22

Ohhh...thank you for so many ideas! I’m thinking kitchen now as it’s an area of the house that’s a bit lacking on equipment and I really want to get back into all home cooked dinners after a bit of a lapse.

Heated throw for the sofa sounds lovely but I’m lucky of have a small very cosy house...which I definitely do not take for granted after visiting my family in their lovely but very chilly big old house!

Vouchers are amazon which I don’t even have an account with, hence my idea searching!

@OnMyWayToday

Or a slow cooker!

Do you have one? They're great for home cooking :-)

Spotify!

MyDcAreMarvel · 27/12/2018 00:41

What is a squashy potty?

NotCitrus · 27/12/2018 00:51

A ceramic frying pan. Even after a year of abuse and dishwashing its good as new.
4-slice toaster.

Non-kkitchen - menstrual cup, Lumie alarm clock.

Giggorata · 27/12/2018 01:14

Link to the squatty potty ad - one of my favourites Smile

ChristmasFan2018 · 27/12/2018 03:09

Netflix account

4 slice toaster. This was a recent purchase & has made mani for breakfast so much easier!

CAAKE · 27/12/2018 03:13

Lakeland heated clothes airer 🙌

Frogletmamma · 27/12/2018 03:20

Bedsocks. What I got for Christmas was booktokens, biscuits and bedsocks. Santa has been kind.

burnedout · 27/12/2018 03:24

Apple AirPods (Bluetooth earphones) - more than £100 but so convenient.

Silk eye mask and wax ear plugs for sleep

Audible subscription (audio books)

Kindle

Melatonin and diphenhydramine for jet lag and sleeping in flight.

Headspace app (for meditation).

Remote control sockets - I can switch the bedroom lamps on and off by remote.

Tile - for finding lost keys, etc.

ineedtostopbeingsolazy · 27/12/2018 03:30

My heated throw! Got it a few years ago it can be washed in the machine and tumble dried. I sometimes lie on top of it too it makes you warm and cosy without being too hot.

A stick blender was a good buy.

I have a nespresso coffee machine with an attached aeroccino milk frother totally love it I used it every day.

ineedtostopbeingsolazy · 27/12/2018 03:34

I think I need a defrosting plate now!

Ariela · 27/12/2018 03:36

Baavet british wool duvet. We bought pillows ages ago, and always said I'd like one of their duvets, finally found one reduced in their bargain section (has a couple of not very noticable marks). it's FAB, very cosy, and hangs just right, the structure means the filling doesn't move

Fancycatpants · 27/12/2018 03:52

A decent umbrella. It’s a mini one with reinforced spokes, and it’s so strong I can use it in heavy winds without any hint that it might buckle or blow inside out, but it’s still small enough to fit in my handbag. It was about £40 which is expensive for an umbrella but worth every penny.

Klobuchar · 27/12/2018 03:55

Spotify subscription
Heated mattress pad
Unlimited data plan for mobile phone

More than £100 but utterly life changing:

Apple Airpods
Mobile phone with massive storage capability. No more deleting ohotos or apps

Fancycatpants · 27/12/2018 03:55

Houseplants. I have one or two in each room. Nothing fancy, but they enhance the ambience of my home and lift my spirits, especially during winter when the whole world seems grey and dull. Cheap to buy, and all they need is a bit of water and occasional fertilising.

Sarcelle · 27/12/2018 03:57

You don't need a gadget to do up your bracelets. You can use a large paperclip if you open it out a bit. Google it. Transformative, and probably free if you work in an office!

babysharkie · 27/12/2018 03:59

Joseph Joseph bathroom bin with separate recycling compartment. Also the draining board, which has a plug to be able to move it (we have a v small kitchen).

Muji shelves, so well designed and each drawer is sold separately so you can adapt the space to your needs.

Salad spinner.
