Its time to get serious, according to Norad Santa has done Germany and is now in Switzerland. He'll be heading to the UK in about an hour. If they're not asleep he wont be able to come in. Quick, quick, into bed, lights out, eyes closed and sleep.

Witchend · 24/12/2018 22:30

Mine are older and have decided to go to midnight mass.
I have filled stockings and retired to bed.

Deeedeeee · 24/12/2018 22:30

One of them us asleep but the other is "too excited"... I have a horrible cold and just want to sleep, trying to stay awake to complete Xmas eve duties!

blueskiespls · 24/12/2018 22:31

@Lwmommy is that so? Haven't actually checked NORAD since tea time. Think the eldest will appreciate the seriousness now... Wink

Mine (4 and 6) have only just gone up, but they are exhausted do should fall asleep quickly.

I'll be in bed in 30!!

NormHonal · 24/12/2018 22:33

Got mine into bed at a good time for once —first time ever— and got presents out under tree but PILs now of an age where they have no volume control and the constant to-ing and fro-ing to the toilet (they’ve been in bed half an hour. Seriously.) have woken up one of the DCs just as I was in the process of hanging stockings. So now I’m sat awkwardly waiting for them to go back to sleep. I’m so tired.

blueskiespls · 24/12/2018 22:33

@AnotherRoadsideAttraction we are in the lounge watching Netflix Film-Bright. I am trying to keep awake. No doubt when I eventually get to bed I will be over tired and unable to sleep!!!

Yes little big boy has placed rubber danger noodles (snakes) as a trap for Santa and big little boy is undecided about santa after catching daddy dropping his £ from the tooth fairy.... DD has requested that her stocking is dropped off without waking her up if at all possible.... It's going to be a long night

Deeedeeee · 24/12/2018 22:34

!!! eldest has now fallen asleep in my bed !!! He's too big to move (11). This is not going to plan.

PinkBuffalo · 24/12/2018 22:35

I don't have kids myself, but have heard frantic bouts of crying from next doors kids this evening. I normally can't hear them at all. Some if them are still very young, and I think a bit overwrought!

scrivette · 24/12/2018 22:36

The eldest two are asleep but the baby keeps waking up. Think she has caught the excitement bug!

I want to get on with watching my film so I can do stockings and go to bed when it's finished.

blueskiespls · 24/12/2018 22:37

@scrivette what are you watching?

Me! Ds doesn’t believe now, so isn’t in a hurry to get to bed. Dd is finally in bed, but is having trouble getting to sleep because she’s a. too excited and b. worried that ds being awake will stop Father Christmas coming! I’m struggling to stay awake, so there’s a good chance ‘he’ might not make it 😬

poshredrose · 24/12/2018 22:39

Dc 9, 13 and 14 aren't even in bed yet. Youngest is going up soon and I'm getting in beside them which will help them fall asleep quicker. We've given in and accept it'll be a late night, it always is.

BrioLover · 24/12/2018 22:39

Me! DS1 is excited and is struggling to sleep and DS2 is teething. Ho fun

MrsDaveGrohl78 · 24/12/2018 22:39

I'm watching Gremlins ha ha ha! Waiting for the excited 8 year old to sleep so we can sneak presents in and then get to bed ourselves!

alfiesmam · 24/12/2018 22:41

They’re in bed but not asleep - they are always very restless Xmas eve with excitement makes putting out stuff very stressful Xmas Wink

blueskiespls · 24/12/2018 22:42

This is new for me, I am sure every other year they've been asleep by 9pm Ish

ILoveMaxiBondi · 24/12/2018 22:42

Me. DS(9) is so stressed about not being able to fall asleep that he, er.... can’t fall asleep! He also has a sore tooth. And there’s nothing interesting on TV to keep me entertained until he nods off.

PenguinPandas · 24/12/2018 22:42

Both mine 11 and 13 still up. 11 year old DS (ASD) has helped make Yule Log and is now guarding it and has just told me we can start eating it in 1 hour 18 mins and 23 seconds. DH is finally wrapping his presents. DD in her room now doubt on phone. I am in bed with cuddly cat.

Beamur · 24/12/2018 22:43

This is the first year since DD found out the truth about Father Christmas. Which means I finally go to sleep at a reasonable time 😁
