I can’t tell you how surprised (and smug Grin) I was when my 7 and 9 year olds were in bed and asleep by 9:15!

I’ll take it as tbe one night of the year when they don’t mess about...

abbsisspartacus · 24/12/2018 23:43

My five year old is refusing to sleep as he doesn't want dreams 😭 I also feel I've lost some gifts somewhere both me and five year old are ill it's Christmas on a budget so no stockings here Sad

mumof2sarah · 24/12/2018 23:44

Feeling very smug tonight, DD(6) was in bed by 8:15 and DD(15) went into her room about 8:30. Presents laid out by9, some other bits done and now I'm lay in bed, first time in years we've been in bed on Christmas Eve before midnight/1am. Hopefully you will all be asleep soon xx

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 24/12/2018 23:48

I'm up. The dc5(1) has bronchilitis & will only sleep on me, on the sofa Hmm, I dlo secretly like the sleep cuddles though. I'm just grateful that he's not too poorly with it, dc4(3) always used to end up in hospital, although he also has asthma.

On the plus side Father Christmas came early so if I do get him back to bed I can go & get some sleep too.

GunpowderGelatine · 24/12/2018 23:51

Of all the days of the year my 1yo got up after 2 hours sleep and is still up Angry

fruitpastille · 24/12/2018 23:52

Arggghh!!! Eldest still tossing and turning. Youngest been asleep since 8pm so will have plenty of energy in the morning!

nandaandm · 24/12/2018 23:56

My DD 8 went to bed at 9pm and was away within 30 mins. Downstairs is all done but I've still to do her stocking. I came up about 30 mins ago and she woke up to go the loo. She's back in bed but I can hear her tossing and turning. Her empty stocking is in her room so I've got to retrieve, fill and replace. I'm so tired 😩. I'm giving it 30 mins and hopefully I can sort it out and go to sleep.

sdaisy26 · 24/12/2018 23:57

DD(6) and DS(4) both asleep by 7:30 (worn out by several later nights but is that a mn Christmas Eve record?!). However just as we went to do stockings dd woke up. Now asleep again and stockings have just been delivered but I imagine she’ll wake again soon. Think it will be a long night!

Rockbird · 25/12/2018 00:03

All done here. They went to bed late but fell asleep straight away. But, I've lost the cats' bastard presents! Thankfully the dds know I bought the cats' pressies but even so. They've got empty bloody stockings now Xmas Hmm

BobLemon · 25/12/2018 00:07

Still waiting for the coast to be clear. DD12 was down about 20 minutes ago for a cuddle and calpol, so still not a cert. The window till the TDS11s wake up at 6am is shrinking Xmas Confused

MissDollyMix · 25/12/2018 00:12

Argh! Ds (8) is a night owl anyway and still wide awake and stressing out. Dh and I are ready to drop!!

PenguinPandas · 25/12/2018 00:12

11 year old currently on shoulders of 13 year old and DH at Xmas mass. They are singing Last Christmas.

DonaldDucksTowel · 25/12/2018 00:12

Well the big 2 are now asleep but I’m sat settling the baby now
Fuck sake I’m not going to get a wink of bloody sleep tonight 🙄

CakeNinja · 25/12/2018 00:18

Older 2 are in bed but possibly not asleep.
They helped wrap their little brothers stocking presents and ate Father Christmas’s mince pie, they said just to leave their stockings outside their doors Grin
Ds is 7 and has been asleep in bed since 9. Dp went in when he was going to bed to collect the sack for me. Apparently, ds was lying on it in bed, asleep. Dp woke him when he moved it and ds told him off, that it was a trap to catch Santa Grin Grin
I’ve filled all the stockings, put presents under the tree, have tidied, cleaned the floors, laid the table and am now sat drinking Santa’s sloe gin enjoying the quiet house.
I will go up in the next half an hour and will be the first awake. None of them wake up early, ever, not even at Christmas Confused

AnotherPidgey · 25/12/2018 00:25

The DCs (5&8) bounded off to bed, good as gold at 8:30. Miraculously the younger one actually went to sleep with no fuss... the older one is still awake nearly 4 hours later!

APositiveMind · 25/12/2018 00:25

I'm 22 and waiting for OH to come to bed and go to sleep so I can go spy on what he got me as he wanted to use my wrapping paper to wrap my presents! Luckily I ran our of paper yesterday Sonim not allowed downstairs for the rest of the night.

Am I a kill not? I just hate not knowing.
Mostly because he's very materialistic and I am not, so he tends to buy me expensive branded elaborate gifts that I have no use for and then have to act like I love it e.g he bought me an apple watch last year, I've never seen the point of them, I don't even think they look Nice. But because he bought it and was chuffed with himself I wore it and used it as often as I could, I'm a dental nurse and with handwashing +++ times a day I can't wear it at work so I have little time to. I ended up selling it.
I asked for new pillows for our sofas this year and he said no because it was boring.. ended up buying them myself!

tinatsarina · 25/12/2018 00:29

Just did a test it's a negative but I'm 7 dpo is that to early af due 1st Jan according to app ovulation was the 18th there

changingname18 · 25/12/2018 01:00

I'm done. Had to stop halfway though as whilst putting the sacks in the kids room the big one started stirring then sounded like he was awake Shock so had to wait till he fell asleep again. Does anyone else dress like FC in case they catch you in the act?

CakeNinja · 25/12/2018 01:08

Er, I didn’t dress like Father Christmas, no. I’d put money on you being very much in the minority here Grin
Just did mine, all went without a hitch, I got into bed and had a little sigh of relief. Got into bed, then dp tossed and turned and got up to go to the loo. I shushed him about 12 times.
He got back into bed then muttered about not being sure if he brushed his teeth. So more creaky doors, noisy bathroom antics.
Silently fumed for a minute and then realised ds never bloody wakes up when we do this normally so chances are unlikely this evening.
Anyway, it’s all done, I’m in bed now. Night all Wine

PenguinPandas · 25/12/2018 01:15

We've just all had Yule Log and now DH is assembling a water rower. Don't think there will be much sleep here tonight, its silly season. DS is asleep. DD is lying on a cardboard box.

JennyOnAPlate · 25/12/2018 02:32

Both dc asleep here and I can't bloody sleep! Have given up after 2 hours in bed staring at the wall and am having a cup of tea Confused

TheLastMermaid · 25/12/2018 02:46

Good to know I'm not the only one. DS very excited and won't sleep. Can't even take the empty stocking from the end of his bed. Going to be a long night. I'll be wrecked by the end of Christmas dinner. I keep telling myself there's a limited number of years that it's this magical for them and trying to enjoy the moment but right now I wish we were all sleeping.

Have a magical one fellow MNers x

bringincrazyback · 25/12/2018 03:56

Children? I'm still waiting for ME to fall asleep. Of all the nights for my sleep disorder to bite my butt... Angry

PenguinPandas · 25/12/2018 04:17

DD has finally gone to bed after saying I'm going to be asleep all Christmas day aren't I? Grin Glad DH is making Xmas dinner.

Rhubarbisevil · 25/12/2018 05:54

I can’t sleep either. Did the stockings at 1am and have now been awake since 3am as DH is snoring his head off. I’m going to be a fun Christmas bunny today, aren’t I?
