I am so tried 😴 and the children (6 and 9) are still awake in their beds!! Just went in the little ones room and she's set up dolls high chairs, push chairs etc... having a lovely time! Grin

Mine is still awake she has asd and probably won't be asleep for a couple of hours yet I'm so bloody tired

Pinkyponkcustard · 24/12/2018 22:45

A tip I read on here ages ago - tell the kids that they don’t actually have to sleep but “look” like they are asleep for Santa. So lie down, eyes closed and keep still...

FurForksSake · 24/12/2018 22:45

I think Ds1 (5) is finally asleep, caught him peering out of his window, was alerted to this when he fell off the chair he was balancing on. He has bruised his face horrendously, so that meant half an hour of consoling and cold compresses, but he just missed his eye so avoided A&E.

MerryGinmas · 24/12/2018 22:48

We've been lucky and DDs were asleep by 8, however we're wrapping the living room door as one of them has asked for a difficult to wrap present and DH isn't ready for bed yet.

I've gone to bed and instructed he finish the Christmas prep as I'm shattered 😂

BifsWif · 24/12/2018 22:49

Mine have been asleep since 8pm. 9 and 4.

You may think I’m being smug, but I know from experience that this means there will be regular wake ups from 3am Sad

MistyMeena · 24/12/2018 22:50

Me - some neighbours are helpfully having a loud party in their back garden which isn't helping my youngest 🙄

blueskiespls · 24/12/2018 22:52

@MerryGinmas you're wrapping the living room door Shock

TwinkleMerrick · 24/12/2018 22:54

My 7 month old is teething.....no sleep for me! All I want for Christmas is 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep Sad

blueskiespls · 24/12/2018 22:54

Been chatting to my dsis. She has given up and gone to bed (her dd 8) is still talking in bed) she's set her alarm for 3am to do stocking!

MerryGinmas · 24/12/2018 22:54

@blueskiespls well, DH is 😂😂. She's asked for a kitchen and it'll use less paper to just wrap the doorway. Plus they can't sneak down before we're up then 😂 we've done it before and they liked ripping through it.

imcrackersme · 24/12/2018 22:56

My 3 year old is refusing to go to sleep. I'm exhausted. I took her to the trampoline park this morning but obviously that didn't tire her out enough... I'm now lying in bed with her while dh builds the train track set in the living room. Fingers crossed she falls asleep soon.

toomanyeastereggsurghh · 24/12/2018 22:56

Littlest one is fast asleep, bigger one has woken up 3 times with “nightmares” and feeling unwell. Keeps crying so either we’re in for a Christmas Day with sick child or one that is overwrought with tiredness and excitement. Either way Santa needs to deliver soon and I want to go to bed!
Watching sense and sensibility to keep me awake. X

toomanyeastereggsurghh · 24/12/2018 22:57

Also still have a couple of pressies to wrap....it never ends....

LonelyOversharer · 24/12/2018 22:59

Yes, late shift here. Dd1 (very almost 16) has agreed to an outside handle stocking job, and is not going to poke in it! Dd2 and 3 have finally gone quiet (but v probably not quite alseep yet). Dp is laying with ds (6.5) so this will mean either 2 more hours or the both of them asleep on his shorty bed.

I just want to go to bed! Am going to bake the biscuits (dough in fridge) to keep myself going. Moving the presents will be noisy, and the house is small...

Galvantula · 24/12/2018 22:59

Wee ones asleep but oldest only just going quiet.

Watching The Bird Box on Netflix. It's no very fucking festive tbh.

Tinyteatime · 24/12/2018 23:00

My 3 yo is still awake!! I’m desperate to go to bed.

Galvantula · 24/12/2018 23:00

We also have a few things to wrap. 🙈

noodlenosefraggle · 24/12/2018 23:02

DH went up to get the stockings to fill and DS1 woke up so he told him we couldn't find the dog. He then worried about the dog but we 'found her in our room'. Giving it another 30 minutes. Every year I try and suggest the stockings go on the fireplace or outside their room but every year they bloody insist on having it on the end of their beds to wake up to Confused

blueskiespls · 24/12/2018 23:02

@Galvantula watched that the other night. Def not festive🤣 we have also watched Apostle this week too, another Netflix special. That is brutal, I covered my eyes a lot!

blueskiespls · 24/12/2018 23:03

@MerryGinmas that's awesome, clever. Bet they love ripping thru it!

DonaldDucksTowel · 24/12/2018 23:04

Yep, little 2 are asleep but the big 2 are still wiiiiide awake 🙄
I’m tired and have had a few drinks now, DP he just gone out in search of chips
Go to sleeeeeeep!

Galvantula · 24/12/2018 23:04

They're just going down the rapids 🙈🙈

codenameduchess · 24/12/2018 23:05

3 yo still finding reasons to get up. Did we put the milk and carrots out? She needs a wee! Is the dog asleep yet? Is the dogs stocking next to hers? Will I stay in bed with her til morning? Her leg hurts, she's hot, she's cold.... oh she pissed the bed!

JUST GO TO SLEEP!!! mummy is tired and daddy's already asleep. Every fucking floorboard in this house screams with every step 🤬

Trying desperately to keep the magic alive here.

FurForksSake · 24/12/2018 23:05

Buddy our elf left a note asking them to put them on the door handles in the lounge by the tree. 3-year-old is likely to be up overnight and won't understand a stocking he can't open.

JustHavinABreak · 24/12/2018 23:07

6 year old and 4 year old asleep but 2 year old is jumping on me and shouting HoHoHo Mummy. Mummy is no longer amused 😥
