And now DH is up coughing and blowing his nose like a demented elephant.

Still no sign of him helping Santa out though

Eatmycheese · 24/12/2018 23:10

2 year old asleep
4 year old asleep

1 year old still up at no signs of tiredness Hmm

Downeyhouse · 24/12/2018 23:10

Midnight here and my 2 teeens have just gone to bed... stockings are going outiside their bedroom doors as lord knows what actual time they will sleep.

Both insisted we still need to leave a carrot and mince pie and ds 14 made Father Christmas a cup of tea!

Have set the alarm for 8 but I think it will be be the one day of the year I don’t have to wake them.

Am surprised how excited they still are :)

blueskiespls · 24/12/2018 23:10

DC laid in until 7:40 this morning. Can bet we won't be getting that lucky tomorrow!

I am now going to creep upstairs and see if we have success...

If not then doing stockings etc in the lounge and shutting all doors and going to bed. Luckily we have a stair door so would hear if they went down.

My LO is 18 months so hadn't even considered this as a future Xmas eve scenario 🤦‍♀️. My parents had a rule that Santa delivered all the present downstairs and we also weren't allowed down before 6am. I think I'm going to have the same thing with LO, can't be staying up to sneak into her room with a stocking, that sounds stressful 😂

thaegumathteth · 24/12/2018 23:12

My two were both asleep about 930 HOWEVER dd will no doubt be up and down with excitement all bloody night.

DrWhy · 24/12/2018 23:12

2 year old was asleep then did his trick of accidentally unticking himself from his nappy while ‘rummaging’ and then soaked the bed. All changed and back to sleep but i’m still hiding out in his room while the 6 week old grumbles at daddy!

cheesenpickles · 24/12/2018 23:13

I was lucky enough the kids went to bed (early!) without fuss. However I now can't sleep. I'd like to say it's because I'm excited about the kids getting their presents tomorrow but it's mainly because I've got a really bad Shakin' Steven earworm going on. Xmas Angry

Potteringon80 · 24/12/2018 23:17

It’s so nice reading this. Mine are 22, 20 and 16. They’re all in bed (on phones).

A few years ago the elder two got confused by an early tea time and were in bed by 18:30 (they were worried about upsetting Father Christmas). 8 years ago my youngest literally could not sleep as she kept hearing the sleigh bells.

I really miss those days.

Galvantula · 24/12/2018 23:21

@blueskiespls I think that was our fuckup. All 3 slept in till 8 today.

Think he's asleep now.. we are go fir Santa time.

shalll · 24/12/2018 23:23

I think ours have just nodded off.

They put treats out for Santa and reindeer but DD (6) said "mummy, remember the plate should be empty in the morning".

Hovering on the edge of still believing Xmas Smile

CarpeVitam · 24/12/2018 23:27

My children are grown, with children of their own.

This thread is making me feel nostalgic. Remembering happy times when mine were small. 🥰

Merry Christmas you and your families x

Lavenderdays · 24/12/2018 23:28

All three dds now asleep but on tenter hooks - the baby will wake and I am worried she will wake up middle dc. I too have a cold and should be going to bed now - one of the two older dds are bound to wake up early and wake the other one up...with a baby in the mix, I'm going to be shattered tomorrow!

Wetdressinggownsleeve · 24/12/2018 23:28

I'm waiting to do the stocking, dd has fell asleep at the wrong end of her bed meaning she's in direct view of the door/stocking spot. One wrong move and it's game over gahh. She's 9 and justttt about believes.

Rogueone · 24/12/2018 23:30

15yr old and 11yr old currently chatting away in bed.
4yr old still awake lying in bed
OH asleep on the couch and I am trying to put stabilisers on!

BikeRunSki · 24/12/2018 23:31

I have literally just done mine’s (7,10) stockings. Took them out in their bikes this pm to wear them out, did a lot of “ooh, she’ll we just see what is down there.....”. Thought we’d exhausted them... maybe they’ll sleep late Hmm

donajimena · 24/12/2018 23:32

I feel more than a bit nostalgic. Mine are now teens and still wide awake. I cba doing stockings before they go to sleep so I hope they keep to routine and don't surface until 10am. Saying that it would be pretty shitty if I chucked stockings in their room and went to bed so they'll have to wait.

Juanbablo · 24/12/2018 23:33

4 year old asleep by 8, 8 year old asleep by 8:30, 11 year old asleep by 10. Later than usual for all of them. A little bit worried about what time they will be up in the morning. I think before 5.

blueskiespls · 24/12/2018 23:34

I can now say GOODNIGHT to you all!! Stockings done, kids asleep (as far as I can see)

Have a lovely day tomorrow, whatever/wherever you are!

I will say a short prayer for lay-ins for us all 🙏🏼 (wishful thinking)

My two are asleep, but Santa sets her alarm for 4am to put them on the bed!

HawkeyeInConfusion · 24/12/2018 23:36

DC2 is asleep for now but DC1 is still awake. Argh.

MamaHechtick · 24/12/2018 23:36

All DC's here were asleep by 10. Eldest is 11 and said to the others he will wake them up at 7. I'm betting the younger ones will be awake earlier. We are in the holiday home with our two DC's and 5 nephews and nieces, two have jetlag and are several hours behind which will make it all interesting. I'm sleeping on the sofa so will be the first woken up when one comes in.

Orangepear · 24/12/2018 23:40

My DC are 5 and 2, both currently awake. They went to bed nicely at 6.30 as usual but have been up and down variously needing a wee, sore leg, not sleepy, bruise on knee... I've given up and took their stockings downstairs "so Santa doesn't disturb them" and gone to bed to listen to midnight mass. It's going to be a long day tomorrow!

Howmanysleepstilchristmas · 24/12/2018 23:42

I’m up. Ds13 was awake still at 11, “too excited to sleep.” I’ve just delivered dd11’s presents, then ds5 woke in a panic as he couldn’t see his empty stockings. I’m now waiting for him to settle before I can carry on. He shares a room with ds6, and if he woke he’d never settle back! Fingers crossed dd doesn’t wake to her stocking before I can sort the 3 boys. Half ds5 and ds6’s stuff is currently at the bottom of the stairs to dd’s Attic room where I threw it in panic. The rest is in the lounge. Dh went to bed 30 minutes ago with assurances I was 5 minutes behind and is snoring away blissfully unaware.
