Me - I was shy at school and rarely talked.

You?

That I was bullied relentlessly at school. Anyone I tell now is all "but you're so confident and funny and loud that can't be true"
It took 6 years of living overseas to be happy in my own geeky skin with my odd sense of humour.

Also, that I saved three people's lives. 1 from drowning and two from choking (1 of the chokers was my ds, I was terrified)

LemonAndPoppySeed · 24/12/2018 19:11

I have been very wealthy and very poor several times in my life.

ncasouting · 24/12/2018 19:11

I’m sexually very dominant.

Jsmith99 · 24/12/2018 19:15

That I grew up on a shithole council estate.

Wordsup · 24/12/2018 19:16

That I have a stammer. I pick my vocabulary so well I talk without using certain letters and sounds. I've been doing it for over 30 years since I was in primary school. I've mastered the art of it.

DH is the only person who's ever heard me stammer.

missmouse101 · 24/12/2018 19:16

That I'm in love with a man 22 years younger.

glamorousgrandmother · 24/12/2018 19:18

I played bass guitar in a punk band in the late 70s.

crosser62 · 24/12/2018 19:18

That I have been pregnant 9 times.
7 miscarriages and 2 kids.

That I probably suffer from depression, never diagnosed, never seen a dr but I regularly have severe drops in mood, become almost totally non verbal, stop eating and have strong suicidal thoughts and urges.
No one notices.

JohnCRaven · 24/12/2018 20:13

That I'm depressed 'oh but you're so happy'. Fake it till you make it.

MyBreadIsEggy · 24/12/2018 20:15

That I was brought up with English as a second language.
I have no accent that might give my heritage away when I speak English.

Lattesforlife · 24/12/2018 20:19

I used to be a glamour model and bought my first house from it. Very much a middle class / aged twinset and pearls type now.

VladmirsPoutine · 24/12/2018 20:25

I used to be an addict.

goforkyourself · 24/12/2018 20:26

I'm hard as fuck, brown belt in kickboxing (long time ago) Nobody I work with knows this Xmas Smile

Mixedupmummy · 24/12/2018 20:32

my mum brought me and my siblings up on benefits and we witnessed regular verbal and physical domestic abuse towards her from my "dad".
I'm very middle class and a professional now.

GertrudeCB · 24/12/2018 20:35

I'm mildly disabled now but I used to represent my county in athletics. No one I work with would ever guess. Oh, and I have a tattoo Xmas Smile

cheesenpickles · 24/12/2018 20:38

I did work experience at 14 at Page3.com and invented their 'Beer Zoo'
I kissed a premiership footballer on my 21st (but didn't know they were a footballer Blush)
I work in a very cool/trendy job, I am neither cool nor trendy. Grin

AlessandroVasectomi · 24/12/2018 20:40

I have a permanent ileostomy. It all happened very suddenly 8 years ago when I knew nothing about colitis or bowel surgery and I thought I was going to be an invalid or something. I live a perfectly normal life with few limitations and you’d only notice anything untoward when I occasionally make extended visits to the bathroom.

MaidenMotherCrone · 24/12/2018 20:41

I’m a witch 🧙‍♀️

gearandloathing · 24/12/2018 20:41

That I have been both a drug addict and a prostitute. Although strangely, not at the same time!

KeepServingTheFestiveSnogs · 24/12/2018 20:44

I'm nowhere near as posh as people assume I am, and am generally skint.

I have 6 tattoos (so fist-bump to GertrudeCB)

I'm much shyer and more easily hurt/sensitive than you'd expect from someone as gobby as me.

Fabulous thread idea, OP.

WaterBird · 24/12/2018 20:52

That I love ABBA. It's more of a "my parents' generation" thing.
I am very chatty with my friends and family but very quiet with people I do not know.
I'm with the poster who grew up with English as a second language and nobody knows that unless I tell them. In my case, it was my grandparents who had come from this country, so my parents wanted me to be exposed to it from when I was little but we still primarily use English.

Thisisit777 · 24/12/2018 20:53

Gosh you’re an interesting bunch.

What else re me? Oh yes, that i have Trichotillomania - but only re hairs on my legs!

OP posts:
OhioOhioOhio · 24/12/2018 20:57

That i miss who i thought my stbxh was.

MyBreadIsEggy · 24/12/2018 20:57

WaterBird Nowt wrong with a bit of ABBA Grin
I’m about 30 years too young to publicly admit I love them though Grin

MacavityTheDentistsCat · 24/12/2018 21:00

That my husband of 20+ years is actually my second husband.
