Yes sea home for Christmas!!! Oh and let's hope certain doctors get a lesson in respect for patients!
Sea, I am really proud of you and how you stick up for yourself. You are inspirational

ApolloandDaphne · 18/12/2018 06:22

You have great resilience and have retained your dry sense of humour throughout everything. I salute you. What strength of character you have. Hope you get home for Christmas.

Seafour · 18/12/2018 07:10

Squatlobster and anyone else who asked to jump aboard late please take a seat.

InflagranteDelicto · 18/12/2018 07:18

Oh my word, what fuckwittery. On the plus side, may you need lots of help from dh with your ample boobs!

Joining in the chant to have you home for Christmas, where you are cared for by people who know you and will do so properly

justasyouare · 18/12/2018 07:18

If this carries on we are driving the bus up to the doers, deploying the ramp and getting you and your marvellous ventilator on board!
The amount of mistakes is just unbelievable ( I do believe you tho!) and I just dread to think what would happen if you weren’t articulate, intelligent and able to stick up for yourself.

I am crossing everything that you will be home very very soon x

KnittingSister · 18/12/2018 07:19

Morning Seafour HOME FOR CHRISTMAS here's wishing you great times with your boobs and walking and eating GrinWineCake and no silly Drs.

AwdBovril · 18/12/2018 07:41

Sorry you had a difficult day. What idiots. Hope today goes much better. FlowersBrewCake

WitchDancer · 18/12/2018 10:01

Seafour home for Christmas!

I'm not convinced DH didn't enjoy boob wrangling....

FuckBrussel · 18/12/2018 10:34

SEAFOUR HOME FOR CHRISTMAS!!
I'm appalled by what you're telling us - what is it with the lack of joined up thinking?

I'm very happy that the things that went right, did, though. We are decorating the bus for your return - now, where did I put those glass icicles? No, no - don't sit there... Oooooh - sorreee... Blush

Andro · 18/12/2018 10:37

I would imagine you're looking forward to a looooooong chat with Dr Dishy about his subordinate then!

At least there were some positives though

Schuyler · 18/12/2018 11:33

Oh Seafour, I’m so sorry you’ve had such a bad experience. Take care.

TheTempest · 18/12/2018 13:31

I’m back on the bus too Sea after the worst week of my life. I won’t go into it, suffice to say your experience in hospital is not a surprise to me at all. I’m thinking of you; get Sea home for Christmas!

Seafour · 18/12/2018 13:51

Right bus passengers I need your help, at 2:00pm my central line is being removed and I make the swap to oral morphine so I need all your support, healing vibes, prayers, offerings to who/whatever you believe in that this time I'm not catapulted into hell.

I'm also going to be stuck in Hospital until well into the new year unless I can find additional help at home to support DH & PA I ideally need someone who can live in for six to eight weeks and cover 8pm to 11pm , wake once to help turn me and 6am to 8am for help with turning, meds and breakfast. I'm in Derbyshire.

The Hospital are now putting pressure on to get me out, they are being ridiculous and want to know why it wasn't arranged before I came in but I didn't even know if surgery was going ahead until the day before I came in.

In a flood of tears & desperate

I'm thinking of you and praying for healing and for someone who can help

ThinkOfAWittyNameLater · 18/12/2018 13:54

Bumping to keep in active threads.

Stay strong @Seafour x

The people in this hospital are ARSEHOLES.

JustanotherCHRISTMASuser01 · 18/12/2018 14:04

Oh seafour, im so sorry I dont have anything constructive to say to help you. I'll be thinking of you this afternoon. I pray you find somebody who can help you x

StormTreader · 18/12/2018 14:13

Hoping your switch to oral morphine goes ok!

JoeElliotsMullet · 18/12/2018 14:21

Thinking of you Seafour Flowers

bexcee · 18/12/2018 14:27

Thinking of you and hoping it went well

Puzzledandpissedoff · 18/12/2018 14:32

@Seafour I can't believe I've only just found your thread and am so very sorry about all the problems you've been having ... hoping, too, that at least your line removal has gone okay

Thing is, I'm in Derbyshire myself. I'm probably not much use in person as I don't drive, but through having a disabled DS I have a lot of experience of local care agencies, who to approach and so on

Just wondered if I can be of help with any of that?

purpleunicorns · 18/12/2018 14:35

Oh Sea I wished I lived closer to help you out Thanks
I'm sure you'll get this sorted and be home soon

mineofuselessinformation · 18/12/2018 14:42

Arriving a little late (am sitting at the garage having my car looked at), but sincerely hoping your medication change has gone so smoothly you haven't even noticed the difference.

DMCChristmasCakes · 18/12/2018 14:51

Thinking of you Seafour

I'm nowhere near Derbyshire I'm afraid but I hope you get the right assistance.

I took you a photo of the view of South London yesterday, but you appear to be suffering enough.

ChanelPlease · 18/12/2018 14:55

'There is no other ward in the hospital or my hospital near home that would take me because my background nursing needs are too high but today it's been suggested I move to a rehabilitation unit where the nurse patient ratio is 1 nurse to 12 patients.'

Sorry you're having an awful time. Tbh a rehab unit may work, I used to work in ICU and patients requiring home ventilation for chronic conditions such as paralysis, MS or MND were often discharged to rehab units until a care package was organised for home care so don't rule out rehab, the staff are highly trained. Yes the staff ratios aren't that of hdu but once over a critical exacerbation that isn't required anyway.

Gramgram · 18/12/2018 14:56

Keeping everything crossed it all goes smoothly and you can get the help in place.

Pouring with rain here in the south, dank and miserable. DH put the tree up today, so beginning to look a little festive here. Cards are beginning to arrive too. Got presents to wrap, and will start those tomorrow, I hate wrapping and most end up looking more sellotape than paper but hey ho!

Hope you are home for Christmas.
