It's all such a mess. I'm not a fan of Teresa May particularly, but I do think anyone would have struggled to make a success of Brexit after the referendum, so not entirely sure what replacing May will achieve. And also who on earth would replace her if the challenge is successful?

"No Deal" it is, then, I reckon. Of the 117 I reckon at least 57 won't support May's deal. Labour won't, SNP etc. won't.

NotAnotherJaffaCake · 12/12/2018 21:07

God, JRM. What a complete, utter embarrassment. I hope his tailor is thoroughly ashamed - that coat is awful, as are his suits.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 12/12/2018 21:08

Trouble is, having done this on the back of a suggestion she'll go before the next election, the vultures will still be circling ...

I’m pretty sure a bunch of Labour MPs would support it on the basis that JRM opposes it....

SilkenTofu · 12/12/2018 21:08

Can we ever know who that 117 are? I want to know how my pathetic Conservative MP voted.

brizzledrizzle · 12/12/2018 21:10

It probably doesn't mean much but the BBC have a list on their website saying who said they were voting for/against.

KitKat1985 · 12/12/2018 21:11

My understanding SilkenTofu is that it's a secret ballot, so no.

OP posts:
RedForShort · 12/12/2018 21:12

Not unless they announce it. There were some who publicly gave their support, so unless your pathetic Conservative MP is one of them, I doubt you’ll know.

Is she off to Dublin now, isn’t she?

ChristmassyContessaConSparkles · 12/12/2018 21:12

I loved the "You've got plotting to do" comment Grin

DH bets that tomorrow Labour will put in a no confidence motion, thus potentially causing a govt resignation and a general election...

sheldonesque · 12/12/2018 21:16

With notasunnybunny and pebbles here.

I hate chippy middle aged blokes who gob off that they can do better when in reality their testes are the size of full stops.

She is plugging away at this when nobody else had the gumption. Shame on those trying to unseat her at this time.

RedForShort · 12/12/2018 21:22

There’s a lot of Tory’s openly declaringly themselves twerps to the world aren’t they. She didn’t win by enough, she should resign; the against vote is so high, she should resign. What was the percentage of the Brexit resounding win again?

LurpakIsTheOnlyButter · 12/12/2018 21:25

Now what though?

She's not getting her deal through. 117 of her own party won't vote for it. Labour won't. DUP won't. SNP won't. Libs won't.

The impasse is still very real. I don't think she will resign but everything is clear as mud these days.

So is it hard Brexit? People's vote? No brexit at all? What the hell will happen next?

Answers on a postcard to no. 10 downing st. I think the whole bunch need a bit of help! I don't see a GE as an option either - as even as a labour supporter JC is a bloody let down here (previously rated him) and regularly contradicts himself. No faith in anyone in the government or opposition

buttybuttychristmastree · 12/12/2018 21:27

She's got bigger balls than the lot of them!

MissyCooper · 12/12/2018 21:27

👏🏻 Good result.

I hope she’s sitting on her couch with a large g&t like 🖕🏻🖕🏻

NotAnotherJaffaCake · 12/12/2018 21:29

I think when push comes to shove, Parliament will vote for her deal. There isn’t the appetite for a hard Brexit, and there is increasingly an awareness that whilst everyone is convinced they could have negotiated a better deal, TM was the only one who actually did anything. So there will be a begrudging acceptance, once they’ve gotten their willy waving out of the way,

surferjet · 12/12/2018 21:31

Now let’s just on with deliver brexit on time!

sheldonesque · 12/12/2018 21:32

I have no faith in any political party.

The fact is that Brexit was voted for. It doesn't matter by how much.

I don't know what the solution is here but it was voted for by the people just

MPs are the representatives of the people. Do what they asked and work together to make it work - regardless of your personal opinion.

superstarburst · 12/12/2018 21:33

JRM comes across as very patronising whenever he opens his gob doesn't he. Clearly he knows better than the plebs what to do about everything...

Wauden · 12/12/2018 21:40

The thing for me is, there won't be a better deal from Brussels so changing a PM won't change anything anyway.

I think that she is super strong and should stay to finish of the task.
Just let her get on with it.

user1499173618 · 12/12/2018 21:42

There’s a much better deal available, which is called revoking Article 50 and staying in the EU.

RedForShort · 12/12/2018 21:43

He's an odious creep. Honest subtitles:

"Mrs May has no place in politics; she's a woman!!! She should resign due to lack of penis. Dont expect me to solve the mess though".

Bleurgh.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 12/12/2018 21:47

There were some who publicly gave their support, so unless your pathetic Conservative MP is one of them, I doubt you’ll know
And even then you won’t really know because, er, MPs lie. Angry

sheldonesque · 12/12/2018 21:51

Genuime question user

Why would that be fair on those who voted for Brexit?

When Scotland voted to stay instead of going it alone, the first thing wee Jimmy Krankie did was call for another referendum.

Why should we ignore what the public voted for on the day?

Just curious.

Helmetbymidnight · 12/12/2018 21:52

JRM and his cronies get to vote again but we, the people, can’t.

Typical brexiteers.

sheldonesque · 12/12/2018 21:52

Apologies genuine
