Do you make your bed every day?

Just wondering as I've realised I don't feel organised for the day if I don't make mine before I leave the house!

Nope. I’m a lazy bitch and nothing non-essential gets done in the morning.

Plus, DH gets up after I do and he doesn’t dress it. He usually does in the evening, and he does all the linen changes so I’m happy to leave all bed-related chores to him and not interfere.

SleightOfMind · 09/12/2018 00:12

No.
DH does though Grin

GreenDinosaur · 09/12/2018 00:20

Tbh, I could make the bed look amazing and the rest of the room would still look messy and shit. Blush

DameSquashalot · 09/12/2018 00:25

Yes! I hate walking into the room if the bed isn't made.

homebirds · 09/12/2018 00:41

Never!! I don't know why - it just seems a bit pointless!! Who sees it? I would in other peoples houses though because I do get that it's the right thing to do.

goingonabearhunt1 · 09/12/2018 00:53

I don't bother. Don't care what my bed looks like as long as it's clean.

LackOfAdhesiveDucks · 09/12/2018 02:21

Never! It’s one of my favourite things about being an adult, not having to make my bed. I live alone, no one sees it so I don’t see the point.

DramaAlpaca · 09/12/2018 02:23

I make my bed before I get into it. Nobody else sees it so it doesn't matter.

TheWiseWomansFear · 09/12/2018 02:29

Yes , thought DP often ruins it which reallly annoys me

NutCrackerSuite · 09/12/2018 02:40

Nope

Juanbablo · 09/12/2018 07:42

Yes. Everything would be wrong if the beds weren't made.

knittedjest · 09/12/2018 08:06

Yes, only because if I don't DH lectures me about it and it's annoying.

bananasandwicheseveryday · 09/12/2018 08:34

No. The only time the bed is 'made'is when it has all clean, fresh bedding. Otherwise, the duvet and top sheet are folded back, bottom sheet smoothed and pillows plumped. Bed is then left to air until I get back in it. Given the amount we sweat during the night, not airing it seems rather, well, dirty to me.

BMW6 · 09/12/2018 09:14

No. I'm another who turns the duvet over the end of the bed to air all day, then shake it into position just before I get back into it, and plump up the pillows.

Maelstrop · 09/12/2018 10:43

Nope, covers are left wide open to air.

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 09/12/2018 10:51

Yes, every day.

ShotsFired · 09/12/2018 11:06

Not before I leave the house (weekdays) because remaking a hot bed is grim. But I do it when I get home in the afternoon.

Weekends I have time to fanny about before coming downstairs so leave it thrown back till cool then remake.

NoWordForFluffy · 09/12/2018 11:23

Nope, we air our beds all day, then make them in the afternoon / evening before we go to bed. It's important to air the bed (a tip I got from Kim and Aggie!).

Nedzilla · 09/12/2018 11:28

Yes. Whoever if last out of bed makes it as soon as they get out. It literally takes 30 seconds. Curtains then opened.

It seems more faff to not make it, and then have to do it before bedtime.

NoWordForFluffy · 09/12/2018 11:29

Except that it's more hygienic to leave it to air for at least an hour!

PostmanBos · 09/12/2018 11:30

This thread is now accompanied by ad with a lovely looking bed on it, freshly made.
I make mine if that means pulling the duvet straight but I dont fuss about making it lovely.

onemouseplace · 09/12/2018 11:34

I fold back the duvet to air and straighten the pillows when I get up, then make the bed just before I leave, or just after I get back from the school run if I've run out of time. It takes about 30 seconds if that and makes the room look so much better.

Santasushi · 09/12/2018 11:40

Always fold the duvet back to air, plump the pillows and open the window before leaving the room.
When one of us is doing nights it’s one in and one out so we change the bedding more as it’s not getting that airing.

itbemay · 09/12/2018 11:41

Yes. Every day and kids beds, love coming home to a made bed! One less thing to do in evening, I hate getting into an unmade bed Confused

ASauvignonADay · 09/12/2018 11:44

Not every day, but most days.

I pull the duvet back whilst I'm at work (apparently this is healthy!) then make it when I get home.
