Orlando Bloom as Legolas in LOTR.
Long blond hair, blue eyes, deadly with and bow and arrow.
I turned to my friend and said "I'd totally DO that elf!"
OB in anything else--thin and weedy with occasional dodgy facial hair.
No thank you.

Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock. Sex on legs.
BC in anything else and in real life - looks like a weasel

Yes to Sherlock!

Viggo mortenson as Aragorn. He's a horrible bastard in GI Jane and hidalgo is so boring. Don't think I've seen him in anything else.

CollapsedGingerbreadHouse · 02/12/2018 17:08

Not Sherlock, but Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr Strange. I was actually shocked as usually I think he looks like a snake and have never even considered fancying him before.

And I totally agree about Legolas. Legolas is sex on ethereal legs, but Orlando Bloom, particularly after the naked paddle board debarkle, no thanks.

Cherries101 · 02/12/2018 17:09

Bob Morley on The 100. He looks like my uncles in RL / other shows.

MaidenMotherCrone · 02/12/2018 17:09

Chris Hemsworth, Thor (with the hair though, only with the hair)

PinkBuffalo · 02/12/2018 17:09

I came on here to say cumberbatch as Sherlock! I can't stand him in anything else, but he has captured Holmes to a T. (I love the original books)

BigStripeyBastard · 02/12/2018 17:10

I completely concur with all three of your suggestions.
I was coming on to say exactly the same re. Orlando Bloom and Benedict Cumberbatch.

So I will go with Russel Crowe as Gladiator.

GlasgowWorrier · 02/12/2018 17:11

David Tennant as Doctor Who.

Unsettlingly rodenty in nearly everything else.

iklboo · 02/12/2018 17:12

Yes to Orlando Bloom as Legolas

Justkeeepsmiling · 02/12/2018 17:13

Cillian liean Murphy as Thomas Shelby 😍 its amazing what a haircut can do.

MrsChopper · 02/12/2018 17:14

Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby in the Peaky Blinders. He doesn't have the same effect on me in any other role for some reason!

Tom Hardy in the film abput the Kray twins. I usually cannot stand him!

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 02/12/2018 17:14

In reverse - Jennifer Lawrence in everything, I mean she's beautiful but as an actress I find her emotionally flat and dull.
But get her on the Graham Norton show, and she's vivacious, witty and you totally want to get pissed with her

Ha great minds Justkeepsmiling Wink

Justkeeepsmiling · 02/12/2018 17:15

That should just say cillian.... Not sure what went wrong there 🤣

CareFactor · 02/12/2018 17:15

Hugh Laurie as House

starkid · 02/12/2018 17:15

Matthew Macfadyen in Pride and Prejudice (bit dad-like anywhere else)
Arnold Vosloo in The Mummy (so embarrassing! Blush )
Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean, any other time he looks proper dodgy with dire hair (actually also a little bit oddly in Edward Scissorhands... in a really weird way!)

There's probably many more!

FoofFighter · 02/12/2018 17:15

John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness

PHWOAR!!!

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 02/12/2018 17:15

Viggo mortenson as Aragorn
That’s what I came to say, and frankly he’s got to be the ultimate ‘only sexy in one role’ actor.
For me, Colin Firth as Darcy. Never recaptured the fanny gallop feeling of P and P, no matter what he was in, and gawd knows I tried!

MrsTeach · 02/12/2018 17:16

@MaidenMotherCrone I was outraged when they cut Thor's hair. It's just not the same!

Would it be wrong to add Robert DJ but only when he's in the Iron Man suit? Blush

MissWilmottsGhost · 02/12/2018 17:17

Cumberbatch as Sherlock, yep.
Mortenson as Aragorn, yep.
Crowe in gladiator, yep.

I remember all the fuss on MN about Cumberbatch years ago and thought wtf? Then eventually watched Sherlock and had erm, interesting dreams. Ahem.

I do also like his voice as Smaug, but no dreams about dragons....

ProfessionallyUnoffended · 02/12/2018 17:17

I agree with Russell Crowe in Gladiator

mumonashoestring · 02/12/2018 17:17

Tom Hiddleston as Loki - in everything else he has an air of lost (or slightly dimwitted) little boy about him.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 02/12/2018 17:18

Oh, and, Rowan Atkinson in Blackadder II. Or is that just weird?

FunnyBird · 02/12/2018 17:18

Rowan Atkinson in Blackadder 2

MissWilmottsGhost · 02/12/2018 17:18

Oh no, actually not crowe in gladiator, but in master and commander! I think it's the long wig hair Blush
