Orlando Bloom as Legolas in LOTR.
Long blond hair, blue eyes, deadly with and bow and arrow.
I turned to my friend and said "I'd totally DO that elf!"
OB in anything else--thin and weedy with occasional dodgy facial hair.
No thank you.

Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock. Sex on legs.
BC in anything else and in real life - looks like a weasel

Also Idris Elba as Luther. Mega swoon.

mycatistoo · 02/12/2018 20:00

Didn't like Idris in Luther. The wire though.oh dear god... Grin

HumphreyCobblers · 02/12/2018 20:11

*James Marsters as Spike in Buffy, sexy as hell!

James Marsters in real life or anything else, meh.*

yy to this

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 02/12/2018 20:16

Aidan Turner but not as Poldark, only as Mitchell in Being Human

Colin O'Donoghue as Captain Hook- most definitely the eyeliner

Seconding most of the others, as well as Henry Cavil as Brandon in The Tudors... he was not as hot as superman.

Also... I kind of have a thing for the guy in Rocky Horror Show as an adult but also remember him in Home Alone as a child and felt NOTHING.

Ooooh and David Bowie as Jared in Labyrinth.

I feel my choices say quite a lot about the type of shite telly I watch 😂

myselfandme · 02/12/2018 20:27

ichhabedurst I came on to say exactly the same.
I find Michael Fassbender sexy in almost all his movies(Macbeth,x men, 12 years) but in real life meh. Even though he doesn't look that different Confused.
And yes yes yes to Tommy Shelby, hmmm.

Juicer54321 · 02/12/2018 20:30

David tennant as drwho. Maybe it’s the accent? I mean I like a Scottish accent but I fell in love with him with an English accent and so in anything else he seems wrong to me.

hikikomore · 02/12/2018 20:36

Peter Capaldi as Malcolm Tucker.

Haggisfish · 02/12/2018 20:38

Yes to Aidan in being human!

OxanaVorontsova · 02/12/2018 20:42

have to agree with the viggo/aragorn posts, also Tom Hardy in Peaky Blinders

romany4 · 02/12/2018 20:47

Christopher Eccleston as Dr Who.
Have watched loads of other stuff with him and he's just not got the same appeal.
Tim Roth in Tin Star. Think it's the cop uniform

51Pegasusb · 02/12/2018 20:49

Totally agree to Aidan as Mitchell.

Charlie Cox- DareDevil, I adore Daredevil , very upset they've cancelled it.

Tom H- Loki and The Night manager , agree with a pp about up against wall sex , wouldn't say no.

Jason Issacs Lucius Malfoy, maybe it was the hair, maybe the arrogance but hmmm. Jason Issacs in the latest Star Trek, nooooooooo and with an American accent too, why !?

Benedict as SH, perhaps it was the hair and arrogance once again, possible theme here for me !

Tallace · 02/12/2018 20:52

Jason Isaacs in The Death of Stalin. Wow. He was very very arrogant in that. Didnt find him attractive as Malfoy though.

ASlowRegardOfSilentThings · 02/12/2018 20:52

Dave Bautista as nurse in Hotel Artemis
Jude Law as Dr Watson
Ben Affleck in the Accountant
Matt Damon in the Martian
Keanu Reeves in John Wick
Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman
Woody Harrelson in FWB
Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones

These are just the first few.....

Mrsfrumble · 02/12/2018 21:03

Dominic West as McNulty in The Wire.

Yes to Matthew MacFadden as Mr Darcy. So very hot. Nice looking but nothing special in anything else.

IPokeBadgers · 02/12/2018 21:08

Viggo mortenson as Aragorn was my immediate thought, came onto thread and he was the second example someone had posted.

Oblomov18 · 02/12/2018 21:09

Mostly I like characters rather than actors. I like one actor in one film and not necessarily in any of his other films.

Moominfan · 02/12/2018 21:11

Op I read your title and straight away thought Orlando bloom Legolas. Also zac efron in the greatest showman

boatyardblues · 02/12/2018 21:14

Slightly dated one, but Michael Biehn in Aliens. Dumb as a box of rocks and meh in everything else.

Michael Douglas in Romancing the Stone. Urgh/creepy uncle in everything else.

Another vote for Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn.

ikltownofboothlehem · 02/12/2018 21:15

Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk. Also a weird crush.

boatyardblues · 02/12/2018 21:17

Travis Fimmel as Ragnar Lothbrok. Once he’s out of costume I’m just not interested.

I agree with this ine too. I saw him in an Indie film with Greta Gerwig and he came across like the village idiot/perve. Grim.

boatyardblues · 02/12/2018 21:22

Timothy Oliphant in Justified. Gave me the raging fanny gallops.

Agreed.

DH just said Carrie Ann Moss as Trinity in The Matrix, but only that film.

MadameJosephine · 02/12/2018 21:24

Hugh Grant as Daniel Cleaver in Bridget Jones’ Diary

George Clooney as Dr Doug Ross in ER

PawneeParksDept · 02/12/2018 21:25

Totally agree about Ben C and Viggo

Colin Firth as Darcy/Mark Darcy

Nearly cringeworthily unattractive in every other role

treaclesoda · 02/12/2018 21:27

Timothy Oliphant in Justified. Gave me the raging fanny gallops

I second that. Raylan Givens was such an amazing character. Then I saw him as the baddie in the last Die Hard movie and I couldn't believe it was the same actor.

There are so many of these I agree with. Particularly Gladiator. Russell Crowe seems hideous - unattractive and arrogant, and bad tempered and dull. But as Maximus, he's something else entirely.

Acting is a funny thing!
